The What's for Dinner Thread- June 2012 (recipe index in OP)

Last night we had friends over dinner, hard and soft beef tacos, rice, beans, and margaritas...
 
Last night for dinner was meatless Monday and we had the Boca Burgers again...

But I wanted to give an update...

David has lost 47 pounds and I have lost 30 pounds.

Whoop!


Last night we also roasted a turkey that we will have for dinner tonight with a salad, and roasted sweet potatoes!
 

Brandi - Congrats to you and David on the weight loss.

Thanks... It has been a lot of hard work, I remembering talking to you all about the insanity workout and how hard it was....

But it has paid off, and I have a few more pounds to go.

BTW Dinner was so freaking good last night! The turkey turned out amazing!

Thursday comes round once a week. And it's another one of those freakish weather days. It's meant to be winter.....and we have another day in the 70's today. :confused3
 
I wished.....

I have 40 more pounds to go to get where I was when David and I started dating.

I had gained 70 pounds :sad:

You are doing so well! Don't get too hung up the scale, you are working out adn that means increased muscle mass, which is denser than fat. You may not ever weigh what you did when you were younger, but if you are in "better shape" that is............. well............ better! I am so proud of you!

Thursday comes round once a week. And it's another one of those freakish weather days. It's meant to be winter.....and we have another day in the 70's today. :confused3

Oh well, how are you feeling PIO?

One more week of classes! I have a final that is due the 21st, but I want to get it done earlier. It is going to be very hard though. It is an online class with absolutely no feedback from the professor. i asked for some so that I did not reinforce bad habits. She responded "Good job". :rolleyes1

One more week of classes! I have a final that is due the 21st, but I want to get it done earlier. It is going to be very hard though. It is an online class with absolutely no feedback from the professor. i asked for some so that I did not reinforce bad habits. She responded "Good job". :rolleyes1

Still Thursday night, 9.31 pm.

I don't really like online classes. They just seem like a very lazy way of deploying course material to me; but I understand why they do it. I much prefer the feedback.

The online courses are offered through my college and the professor s required to post 3 hour of office hours as well as more by appointment. The courses are not for everyone, you really need to be disciplined. I have been happy with teh online I chose, feedback and class participation were awesome. I am not happy with this one, and I plan on speaking with the academic dean. One student actually stalked the prof because she was so unresponsive. I don't want to do much yet, it is a technical writing class and I think it can be pretty subjective. I have kept the teeny bit of correspondence I have had with her.

What bothers me a lot is that I have good written skills, I just needed to learn how to correspond in a more precise and organized manner. I need to make sure that people who take this class in the future are given help if they need it. They are not being served now.

My Comp prof suggested that this class would be a good one for me. It is one that I definitely needed. However, as my son pointed out, I am paying for an education, not a grade.

We are the opposite around here. We should have 70 and we are having 40-50

I feel so good about it.

for your class, it would drive me crazy that I was not getting any more feedback than that, but with a good job, I would say that you must be doing good, you asked her for input, I would guess if something was off she would have told you.

I am very proud of you for going back to school and dedicating so much of yourself to do this, you are becoming a wonderful example to others!

Last night was pizza, and tonight is carnitas, I have them cooking right now.... Yummy, i am so excited about them...

Dinner tonight will probably be more leftovers from Friday night which was BBQ pork pot roast, salmon dip and cheese and crackers. Everything else got eaten Friday night. Last night was quesadillas with the cheddar cheese.

We went out too! The kids came last night and wewas nto celebrated Mother's Day with Chinese take out. I had a nice night but the food was lousy. Buddy felt bad that I was not with the family today so we went out to dinner Confession....I was fine, they were here last night. I really enjoyed dinner just the two of us! I have veal Milanese andhad an Italian rib eye.

I hope that the women on o=out thread have had a lovely day. Mother's day celebrates women who influence others, so the ladies here should be celebrated!!!!!!!!!!
 
So this morning I woke up craving a juicy burger. Luckily a few months ago we found a place that fit the bill. It's been around for 25 years, but we finally went in there a couple months ago. So we started off being good. Fran got the burger, salad and fries combo.



I got the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings.



She got the regular cheeseburger and we shared our sides.



I couldn't finish the whole thing, but we ate around 3PM and I doubt that I'm going to have any dinner tonight. I'm still full!

Diet tomorrow!
