The What's For Dinner Thread - Feb '09(recipe index in OP)

Fortunately, I have enough of summer maternity clothes from DS that I can use. I just never ventured into a bathing suit. I did check JC Penney Maternity but none in my size range. I am on a search today.

Glad you are all happy and healthy, kiss that little cherub for me!
Ann

Now that you mention it, I think I got the bathing suit at Motherhood. I know what you are going through since there was not much in my size range either.

I will definitely kiss T for you! I really have to get some pics on here. Tom took one yesterday of him smiling...he looks like a little old man. :goodvibes

Ann--thought I would chime in on the bathing suit topic. I was preggers with DS with my ILs thought it would be a fantastic idea to spend a WEEK at the beach. I ended up with a couple suits from Motherhood and one from Old Navy. The ones from Motherhood were nice, and they also had a nice sarong coverup to go along with it. I always feel self-conscious in a bathing suit, always. But being pregnant in a bathing suit gave me a new confidence, b/c for once the belly was serving a purpose! Good luck on your search.

Sheryl--yes, we had sleet in AR yesterday!:scared1: Luckily, since it had been 80 on tuesday nothing stuck to the ground. Now it's just cold and dreary--but it's supposed to be back in the 60s and sunny by Sunday

Kathy--Hoping Kyle gets to play today!

Hugs to all that need them!:grouphug:

We're headed out to the gym in a bit. It's my social outing for the day. I think I spend more time chit-chatting there than actually working out, a hazard of working there I suppose. Anyway, today is the last day for one of the ladies I work with, so we're going to say goodbye too. Then maybe hit a consignment sale for the kids summer clothes. Emma has her first soccer game tonight, and I'm secretly wishing it's postponed. It's cold, the game doesn't start until 7 and the fields are gonna be a big mud-pit. A recipe for disaster.

Oh, wfd, not sure. Lots of chili leftover from yesterday, so probably that! Have a great Friday the 13th all!

I love that line...you are to sweet. Thanks for posting.

Lauren, my Motherhood store only had one large size suit , and of course it was not my size.

Off to get in the shower now so the search can begin.

Is he getting a chance to enjoy the World at all?

Have a great day all! If I miss something major, can someone please PM me? I feel so out of touch...

They went to DTD last night and they're off today so they will go as a team to MK. Then on Sunday they can go to the park of their choice. I'm sure he's enjoying it very much.

You'll never be out of touch here as long as I'm around......;)

If not I am going to wear the one I have proudly and enjoy my son on one last vacation before his sister arrives!

:thumbsup2

WFD - Boiled crawfish!

Nancy, I hope all went well for you today.

Kathy, good luck to Kyle! I hope he gets to play soon.

Here is a photo of last night's dinner. I did end up making pasta. It's shells with spinach, spinach-feta chicken sausage, and a creamy ricotta sauce:

Tonight is the roasted chicken, roasted beets, and braised fennel gratin.

I slept 8 hours last night!!! :woohoo: I took some Target brand Tylenol PM last night and off to sleep I went!

I am thinking that some Pei Wei or Chipotle are in order tonight to celebrate.

Quick fly by - I am picking up a borrowed dog crate and heading to Dallas to shop for wedding stuff with my sister since she's in town. Then I pick up Ace the new pup late this afternoon and get to sit in traffic with him all the way home - oh boy! He'll be fresh from a neuter so I hope my dogs can adjust to him calmly tonight, LOL!

We're grilling steaks with baked potatos tonight - they've been marinating a day or two in whatever DH threw in it.

This weather stinks!

Hey y'all!

Nancy, My prayers are with you today!!! :flower3: I hope the procedure is painless & that it works!

Marisa, I hope you can let us know how she's doing later.

Lauren, I pray for Charles everyday. Don't worry we won't forget him.
Did you tell us & I forgot? What are you goiing to call little Thomas Andrew?? Is it going to be T? You know T or Tee is a cajun term for little. Lots of people are nicknamed just T. Children who are named after Daddy's would be called for ex. Tee-Bob.

I'm moving slow today, sinus headache. The humidity is really up today & the weather is changing, so I'm sure that is why.

DD has the interview today & it's a lunch interview. So I think that's a good sign. Chris also hooked her up with someone in the medical sales field, to send in her resume & bypass the HR dept. Medical sales is something she has been interested in & has been sending out resumes for a while. So maybe something will come of that. I won't be having them over for dinner tonight either, because her hubby got them invited to Medical Rep. party tonight. Keep up the prayers my friends, looks like they may be opening doors for her!!! :grouphug:

So dinner is up in the air. DH might have his heart set on those softshell crabs, but I'll have to run over to seafood markets for that. I'll see if this headache passes.

Sheryl [/B] Sorry our "quick" chat about Mary Kay turned into such a marathon.;) It was nice hearing a voice.

Not sure about dinner yet I'm still waking up.

Oh that's soo warm! ;) I really enjoyed our "quick" chat last night! Now you know why I need to avoid talking on the phone, I can't shut my darn mouth!

Thank you all for making me feel better over my stupid bathing suit issue. (Gretchen, Maria, Becky & Sheryl you are all very wise wonderful friends). Some of the visual images you all painted had me :rotfl: .

Ann

Glad you feel better about it! Have a good day shopping!

Sheryl--yes, we had sleet in AR yesterday!:scared1: Luckily, since it had been 80 on tuesday nothing stuck to the ground. Now it's just cold and dreary--but it's supposed to be back in the 60s and sunny by Sunday

Glad the weather is a little better! Enjoy your day at the gym & shopping!

Lindsay, Glad you finally got some sleep!

Kat, Prayers for Kyle! I didn't realize the ramifications of him not being put in. I'm praying for all of you, it will all work out for the best.

Maria & Robin, More prayers for good health!

Becky, I don't know if I told you yesterday, but those spring rolls & moon soup, should be award winning dishes & photographs! Just beautiful!:thumbsup2

Hello every one :)
Tonight we are having Greek egg lemon soup with home made biscuits..sooo excited..it is such a good meal!!

Marisa just responded to my question on FB, Nan is fine, just very tired.:goodvibes

Very happy to come home and read this...thinking of you Nan!

WFD- DM made oven roasted red bliss potatoes, broccoli, salad, and a stuffed shrimp casserole...Yummy!

Swimsuits were not out yet at the two stores I wanted to try. Oh well, it is a sign to suck it up and just wear what I have. We did get DS cute sneakers and a pair of sandals for the summer on a sale...love a sale!

Hi...just checking in over here. I read all the way through on the train & bus on the way home but don't remember much. :headache:

This morning on the bus, this lady was going on and on to the driver about how "they should post signs for visitors so they know how the bus works." Ummmm....it's a bus?!? It's not THAT hard, and it's not like there's nobody standing around to ask. :confused3 This bus line that I ride is one of the busiest in the city. Ridership is something like 45,000 a day. Surely she could find somebody to tell her how to ride the bus. (Like, when it pulls up, GET ON.)

I am working tomorrow...subbing in grades 3-5 ESL. I'm going to go to sleep very soon. I hope I don't turn off my alarm clock like I did in the middle of the night last night. :confused3 At least I woke up with enough time to get to work at my usual time. :upsidedow

I just wanted to check in quick...our little party went well. I apologize that I didn't get a chance to photo the food. I barely got everything together before the neighbors arrived.

Lauren -- Welcome home.

Last time he wore crocs and had a reaction, his feet peeled for a couple of months.

Isn't that just something that happens at WDW? My kids (and DH and I) have had the same thing happen on occasion...and we weren't wearing crocs.

Kathy -- I am still thinking of Kyle.

Nancy -- I hope all went well and you feel better.

It's late and I still have some things to do before bed. I probably won't check in until Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey friends! Man, I had a long day. Stupid cold rain is still here so it took 1.5 hours to get to Dallas to shop with my sister and over 2 hours to get home. Grrr.

Ace is here. I bawled like a baby when I got in the car with him. He's very underweight and skiddish - but not an aggressive bone in his body. My dogs are doing fairly well with him. His tummy is upset, could be nerves, food changes, or from the surgery, but so far not much on the carpet. I can tell he really doesn't know what to do inside a house *sniff*

Tonight we had steak and baked potatos which was so good! I also made pup meatballs for the dogs - ground beef, brown rice, finely chopped celery, egg, parmaesan cheese, parsley, spinach, carrot, etc. Of course they loved it but they eat hair and poop so what do they know?
