I'm so sad!

First, they canceled my Mom's time off because of the Swine Flu, then they moved Greg's time yesterday so we changed airfare last night & finally he called this morning & said he couldn't go at all.
I just couldn't justify the room cost for myself.........I was only using points for one night so I canceled.

Maria, I am so sorry. What a bummer to have to cancel at the last minute


Today was good; I ate a TV dinner and a pound of edamane when I got home.

Bethany, She did a really good job on the gumbo! But it was a pricey gumbo, she had to get the smoked duck & chicken from Whole Foods!

Yes we will! I hope it's not a killer like the drink Lori/BP had me try there. A think it was called a Rich Man's Black Velvet, Guiness & Champagne!!! Yeah me & Jenny did it!

Good Morning!

This time tomorrow, Charlene and I will be taking off!!!

I am going to Charlene's tonight and dinner will me Chinese and her hubby is making us Fiesta Margaritas!!! They have one of those Margaritaville machines.

I am pretty much packed. Just have to get everything in order here...the people from the other day are coming again on Sunday to see the house again.

I have my hangover vitamins all packed and ready to go...Bring it on!

Are we meeting at the Poly on Sunday? 4:15 - 4:30ish...right?

Hey everyone ~ quick check in. Typical crazy Wed, though I did get to start my day by visiting the newest member of our church; she's a week old now and is precious!!

Well that is not cool ! I was sad that I could not justify the trip but I knew before I made plans. I cannot imagine having to cancel so close to departure

It is going to be blustery and rainy here today. I think I may throw some chicken drumsticks in the oven with baked sweet potatoes. Lately I cannot figure out what I want.

last night Buddy came home and smelled roasted chicken and gravy. He wanted gravy so I left him some before heading to Marisa's but when I got home he told me he could not find it! Are you kidding me? It was tight there next to the ham...on the counter.....right where you make your sandwiches whenever you change dinner to something stuffed between two slices of bread!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buddy will get his gravy with the chicken

Then I made him the pound cake he told me a coworker asked "him" to make. He said "Pound cake? What's that????? He wanted one of those chocolate stripey things." So I have never made a pound cake, looked all over for a recipe that I thought I would not screw up, did not Nanatize it one bit and now I think he wanted a marble cake. For a man who is trying to convince his coworkers that he makes the goodies.....he better learn what he is asking for. Between the two of them, they had no idea what they were asking for. He does not even remember telling me he would like me to make a pound cake....he did not know what it was!

I actually talked with Kenny last night about inviting you to join us and said I would have done it sooner but I thought I might better check with him to see what he thought. He said the real issue would be what your husband thought. Anyway, we only have 3 adults and Hailey and Amanda in our room. Paige had to cancel this week too. One of her professors assigned a group project that would be due the week we were on vacation. And this was after she had cleared her trip with all of them.

You'd better get to work on this soon, I'm officially "on vacation" tomorrow at Noon.....

Try not to get too far ahead of me. I'd hate to have to catch up.

just stay clear of all waterways please!!!! And enjoy that vacation.
You and all the other lucky ladies will be missed. Have a Welsh Dragon in the UK, a smoothie in France and a tropical concoction at the Poly for me. And be sure to give Vicki a big hug from me.

Please let us know how Buddy's co-workers liked "his" pound cake. Kenny does that too. We were supposed to go to his step-father's for lunch on Father's Day and I was supposed to bring the sweet potato casserole. I got it completed except for the topping when my Mom called and said she needed me to help her get Dad to the hospital right then.

So Kenny put the topping on (that I prepared) and baked it per my instructions. He then told his family that he had made them and it was his recipe.

Tonight's dinner is spaghetti with sauce from the freezer.

I am really far behind - AGAIN!! I will try to catch up later.

Wow what a few days I have had. Dr. Appt. went great, so great that I don't have to go back for 4 months. YEA!! We slipped and slid the whole way there though. We haven't seen the sun in 6 days now.

I had 2 dear friends pass away. We had a funeral here yesterday morning and another one on Saturday. And of course I am Courtsey Chair for this month - of Course!!

I had to go pick sweet Ethan up from school yesterday. He had a 101 temp with a sore throat. Elizabeth took him to the doctor and he tested positive for the Influenze (not H1N1) and strep throat. Bless his heart.

My Matthew is hurting so bad today. He has had his heart ripped out, stomped on and thrown to the curb. My heart just hurts for him. I just hate it when my kids are upset. This will take awhile to get over.

So needless to say my happy little family could use some good thoughts and prayers. Such is life!!

I am laughing, but if I made a pound cake (or any other kind of cake) for Greg and he told me it was the wrong kind, he would probably end up with the cake on his head. I like baking, but I hate baking cakes.

Ellen -- You are not having a good week! I'm sorry about your losses. I hope Ethan feels better soon...the poor kid. Strep is bad enough without having the flu on top of it. I'm also sorry to hear Matthew is going through such a tough time right now. He's a good kid, though, and he'll come out of this stronger and wiser.

I'm not sure what I am making for dinner yet, but I do know it will be something hot and preferably something that requires a lot of time in the oven. It is cold here today!

Me checking in too! I'm packing today....well, I'm DISsing today and wishing the packing was done....

Actually all I need to do is add clothes and we're done. Run a couple of errands and pick up our Halloween costumes for the boat. That'll be later tonight. Can't wait! A friend of ours and her partner went as voodoo dolls for Mardi Gras this year- as soon as I read "adults costume contest" in our cruise documents I asked Pat if we could borrow her idea and wigs....she said sure- then went and made us our own costumes! How sweet is that?!? So we're going to play poker there tonight and I'm rolling a suitcase with me to pick everything up.

And I was thinking we weren't going to be able to meet the gals for cocktails at Boardwalk because of our dinner ADRs...till I figured out I was looking at the wrong day!

Soooo, we will be meeting everyone at Boardwalk on Saturday!


And tonight is probably going to be fish tacos or pizza. Regardless it's something out of the freezer.

Tomorrow is flying to WDW!!!!!!!

Just my luck, I got rear ended in rush hour traffic this morning. Thankfully the damage was just my fender & bumper and the insurance co. for the guy who hit me is really on the ball. This just isn't what I want to be dealing with right now.

Well, I'm with Lori, my packing hasn't even begun. And somehow I've got to cram everything in a carry on b/c I refuse to pay the checked bag fee for a long weekend. Might have to limit the amount of shoes I take. Darn it!

Tonight I'm trying another new recipe from an old Cooking Light. It's a sausage and bean casserole. We'll see. 24hrs. from now I'll be on my way from Tampa to WDW!!!!

Please know out of everything bad comes something unbelievable & the calls, texts, & emails have made my heart sing. I couldn't be more blessed, I hit the jackpot when it comes to wonderful women in my life...I thank you for the happy tears.
If I hadn't canceled my airfare I would be sharing a wonderful room with Lauren & Charlene for a night & then moving over to Gretchen's.......

Dinner last night was ravioli pomodoro, salad, and gorgonzola garlic bread. I am not sure about tonight. John invited me out to dinner but I am not sure if I want to go. It is supposed to be really cold and I don't have my heavy winter coat with me. If we go home the planned menu is vietnamese style carmelized shrimp, soy-sesame blasted sugar snap peas, and jasmine rice.

Since everyones putting in drink requests, if anyone gets to Morocco have a sultan's colada for me. I've never had one but it's on my list of things to do. It's like a pina colada with almond, I love almond.

I got a little Christmas shopping done this morning, so now I'm excited for Christmas and those of you going to disney.

Heck yes we are going to be able to keep those girls. That would have been a deal breaker on the move otherwise. The lot where we are building is only a couple miles from our current location, but with Mom next door it will make it easier for me to do for her.
