The What's For Dinner Thread - August '09(recipe index in OP)

Thanks to Janice I found it, there was only 1 pic right y'all?

I had the same helper, thanks Janice. About 6-8 pics Kathy. Select more media.

----------

Lauren, you have a very cute house. Nice job on all the recent renovating. Good luck, hope it sells soon!

Janice & Ann - Thanks for helping the old broad out.;)

Lauren - It's beautiful, you shouldn't have any problems selling!!!!!

The realtors were here taking final pics and said I have the house nicely tidyed (sp) up. It is being shown the first time tonight!!! :scared1: At dinner time so I guess we'll go out! Hooray no cooking again!

I had more to say, but I forgot and now the baby is waking. I hope everyone has a great day! BBL

I hope the showing goes well!

She is feeling great. She hasn't had diarhea & she is eating very well. The dr. said it could come back when she finishes the antibiotic, so she is not out of the woods quite yet. She's goes in for a recheck tomorrow. If she stays well over the weekend she should be able to return to school on Monday!

:grouphug:

Here is an update on Matthew:

He has shot a 38 / -1 under par on the front 9.

That is pretty good because it is nasty here today. The temps. are around 39 with winds and drizzle.

WooHoo - I will let you know as soon as I know any more. But so far so good.

Thanks!!

that's fantastic!

STill can't find it:rotfl:

Me either :confused3 There doesn't seem to be a place to search by #, and I have no idea what county/city she lives in LOL. I wanna see!!

Hi everyone. We're home and I have gotten Hailey settled. The worst part of the doctor visit was the wait. Because they were working us in, we had to wait an hour and a half. She was very tolerant of the wait, but I suspect the multiple suckers and milk duds helped. ;)

Anyway, after the doctor's, we went to Vickie's and got her measured. My child wears the same size bra as my Mom. She definitely growing up. I felt so sorry for the sales girl, I actually bought a couple of the over prices bras there. I felt like she deserved a commission. :lmao: Hailey didn't give her much trouble, but she would squeal at random times which really upset the salesgirl. Anyway, all our tough errands were handled today and Kenny is feeding the children last night's leftovers. I'm having some cheese and a drink.

I would have picked some different pics but the showing tonight went well I think. They were here about 45 minutes which is long I hear for these things. We shall see.

I am exhausted and need to get some zzz's. Hope everyone is doing well!

I really do not like all the pics they posted...no dining room and that pic of my office/treadmill junk room is unbecoming...oh well.

Thanks for all your kind words!

I was able to see it now! You have a FOREST in your backyard!

Your house reminds me of some of my friends' houses growing up. :goodvibes (Without the forest.)

I'm really late getting on here today.

Happy Birthday Hailey!

Gretchen -- You so deserve that wine! What a day you've had.

Nancy -- I'm glad you have listened to people who have told you not to worry. A month is a long time to be stressed. Buddy continues to be in my thoughts and prayers, and you can lean on us here any time. Have a good time at dinner tonight.

Usually the problem with my check engine light IS the check engine light.
 Same here...except with the indicator that a door is open. It always thinks the trunk is open.

Saw the PA, he said that because my iron is so low (I didn't know how low until today), I'm having constant internal bleeding

Aimee, I hope they find some way to help relieve this soon.

It is being shown the first time tonight!!!

Good Luck!!

Ellen -- I hope Matthew did well! That really is exciting.

Sheryl -- I'm so glad Alexis is doing better. I hope she does get back to school Monday!

I think Caili may be getting sick again. She has a cough and she had a slight fever tonight before bed. Not good. Last year, she had the same thing and it turned into pneumonia.

Dinner tonight was pan-fried flounder, wild rice and sugar snap peas.

I think the pics are nice! I esp :lovestruc your yard

I made my fave comfort food - tuna casserole. DH won't eat it, so I evidently decided to eat mine portion and what would have been his. It's so good.

I'm chopping my hair off tomorrow - woo hoo!!

:bday: Hailey! Poor kid what a birthday present. I hope the rest of her day was better. Gretchen, I hope you enjoyed your wine!

Nancy - good attitude :thumbsup2 I hope you enjoyed your time with Nola, and your dinner out!

Aimee - I hope they can get your iron stabilized. Is the anything the can do to control the bleeding?

Laura - Poor Caili, I hope its not serious, especially pneumonia!!

Ellen, I know nothing about golf, I hope Matthew continues to do well.

Lauren, I finally got the house pics to come up - very nice!! Good luck with the sale!

I was able to see it now! You have a FOREST in your backyard!
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Bethany, you crack me up. Come visit my side of the lake sometime!

Well, I got my car back, the parts are ordered and they will be able to repair it on a Saturday, which will make life much easier for us. Unfortunately, it won't be easy on the pocketbook (or rather my meager savings account).

Zipuzee- Usually the problem with my check engine light IS the check engine light. Sometimes I think we have to much information.
The cause of the check engine light is the gas cap which isn't sealing properly, and, is the cheapest part of the problem. My gear shift assembly needs to be replaced and the coolant system and transmission both need to be flushed. Damage will be around $850.

I took Gretchen's lead and had a glass of wine when I got home. Dinner was beef stew and rolls. Bread is my ultimate comfort food!

Good Morning! Quick check in...not even thinking about dinner...going to see Springsteen tonight with my 3 sisters. Should be fun! I am bringing the kids and the dog to my sister's house and Andrew is going to help my BIL take care of the baby, dog AND my Mother. I do say that my BIL is close to sainthood!!! ;):rotfl: My sister's got a fun house so Andrew should have fun. My BIL is into buying things like pool table, pinball machine, slot machines and the shuffle bowling game so it really is fun/

Aimee, Before and after pics??? What style are you going for? I got stopped the other day in Kohls about my cut...I guess it looks good. I hate doing it lately and would love to cut it really short.

Lauri, Glad you got the car back...sad its alot of $$.

Bathany, Well, I guess you could say forest. It really is pretty. I will miss it. It is really nice sitting in the hot tub with coffee in the morning. I am always hoping a balloon will land in my yard but I guess that wont happen in my stay here.

Ok, gotta take the doggie out. Have a great day my friends!

Good Morning! Well I hope it is a good morning, it is dreary and overcast here today.

Gretchen- Wine.....................thank goodness it exists! Did Hailey enjoy the rest of her Birthday? After the day the two of you had cake sure is in order!

Lauren- your house is so bright and sunny! Love it!

zipuzee- I'm glad your care is back!

Aimee- I love tuna casserole! Maybe that will be dinner tonight.......

Laura- Poor Caili! She needs a break!

Sheryl- Alexis is doing great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoping that she can return to school on Monday! Is her school working with you all?

Kat- how is your ankle today?

Bethany- you kill me! Forest...............:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We had a good meal last night. We ended up at an Italian restaurant tha I enjoy and Buddy tolerates. It was his idea though and I still cannot figure out why. I had veal Francais which was excellent. I passed on the salad and soup and jumped right into the bread basket. Buddy had a seafood combo that looked really good. It has sea scallops, stuffed shrimp, cod and a lobster tail. He liked that but was convinced the red sauce was from a can. It was not. I chuckle because for a man who cringes when I Nanatize he complains about everyone else's sauce :lmao:and we all know I could never make the same one twice!

I think I may make a tuna casserole tonight. I really need to break down and go to the grocery store but I have been trying to use up what I have in the house. I tend to use what I buy and leave the older staples. When I cleaned my food storage shelves I was sick at all the food I had to toss because it was past date.

Lauri Z, glad you are getting the car back:headache: I hate seeing my savings drain for that too!

Lauren, have fun at Bruce. WOW, your DBIL does deserve Sainthood after that. Most men would not take on those duties.

Nancy, I better never serve Buddy any pasta. I confess I am a bottle jar sauce girl, but believe me my Italian hubby tells me all the time. HE also prefers me to pan fry his meatballs vs. baking them.

Gretchen, well thank goodness that day of errands is over. Hope you enjoyed that drink.

Kathy, you better still be raising that foot up when you can.

Laura, I hope Caili gets better. Alot of sick kids lately.

Aimee, I love tuna casserole and my DH hates it too. I have only made it once since we got married. Hope you are having a good day!

Ellen, congrats to Matthew.

Maria, is your major cleaning project done?? I have a basement which needs major pitching. There is alot of boxes which need sorting from our prior lives. :rolleyes1

-----
WFD- hoping for F&C tonight.

Going to my parents for family friday lunch feast. I have to stop at Target first to return a couple of clearance summer things I pictured up for Emma. I bought two outfits for WDW in 6 months and I do not think they are going to fit. I have to try them on Chubba Bubba today and see how I make out.

Morning ladies!

Lauren--thanks for posting the latest link to your home. I couldn't figure the other one out either. Your house is lovely! I love your yard too! Crossing fingers that the showing went well. 45 min is a long time for a first visit! I remember when we were transferred back here that the first people that saw our house were the people that ended up buying it--2 months after their showing! Have a great time at the concert!

Aimee--Internal bleeding, constantly??? I hope they get it figured out soon! I'm also getting my hair chopped off today. Nothing different, but I haven't had mine cut since May, so it's gotten really long!

Maria--thanks for the cocktail hour organization! Sent you a PM back this morning!

Ugh, it's a rainy dreary day here. Just makes me want to go back to bed. I'm gonna work out shortly and then go get my holiday hair! Scott and Matthew are out of town on their "Guys Weekend, NO stinky girls allowed" (in the words of my 3 year old). They are in ohio for the Ohio State football game. Being the mother hen that I am, I am so nervous that Matthew is going to wander off by himself in the midst of 100,000 crazed football fans tomorrow. I told him that his one rule is to ALWAYS hold daddy's hand. I'm sure I'll be a mess until I know they are back safe in the hotel room tomorrow after the game. As for WFD tonight, I don't know. Normally we go out after Emma's soccer game, but I'm almost positive with the flooding right now that her game will be postponed. Maybe we'll order in and have a snugglie mommy/daughter movie night!

Have a great Friday all!

A really quick fly by - I need to get to work.

Matthew update -

They called the tournament late afternoon because of rain. He got 12 holes in and will finish the last 6 early this morning. Darn it, he was doing so good I hope this doesn't mess him up. He sounded upbeat and was satisfied so far, so all is good.

I will let you know as I know, thanks everyone for yor good wishes and good thoughts. Please keep them coming.

I will BBL
