The "What are You Up To?" Thread

Just got back from dinner at Max & Erma's with my sis and nieces...sis forgot her purse  and am now watching Oprah Behind the Scenes episode. Can't wait for DH! Trying to guess who shot Paul. Hoping for Felicia not Lee.

Got back not too long ago from dinner at Max and Erma's with my mom (a much needed mother/daughter dinner) and I'm getting ready to watch Waking Sleeping Beauty while dreading going back to work/school...ugh... 6 more months till Graduation!

is there more than one Max and Erma's?

:surfweb: I have been up almost 24 hours. Started off my day by waking up to the ship engines changing sounds/pitch when the ship began the last part to Tampa. Said farewells to our waiter and steward...Tampa has some cute longshoremen...

Eventually got off the ship...saw that Texas Sis in law almost had identical pieces of luggage (we had duct tape on our luggage tags). We did not have to pay extra taxes on the 3rd bottle of rum. :rotfl: Good times in our future.

Eventually we got a shuttle to the hotel where we left our car and used their free internet for almost hour. We rejoin NC B's mom and brothers/their families and caught up with the Tampa kin. We eventually left Tampa/St. Pete around 430pm and got our room at CSR. We ate a cuban sandwhich and cheeseburger from Cafe Rix. Then, we took in our luggage to our new location (4 places in 10 nights). NC Beast got left behind at CSR to have pool time while I set off to the parks at 7 pm. Did not make it for Osbourne...went to EPCOT...saw trees...got on the Mexico ride..rode Spaceship Earth...monorailed to MK for emh. Took awesome parade photos and report to DH's phone every hour where in the parks that I was having fun. :rolleyes1 Rode some rides...no real snacks except for some free water and got Sprite. Went back after 1230am.

Got to go home on Monday. Not even a full day at the parks...close to it if you count the 4.5 hours at MK on Christmas Day.

I hope that I started to lose the weight gain from the extra treats and meals from our cruise.

:) I miss the internet during this trip. I could not go to Hell because that port was close.

GReat start to the year. :cheer2:

Well, out of the blue I received a call from an old boss of mine today and much to my surprise was offered a new job.

Now, I already have one, but like so many my hours have been slashed and the past 18 months have found me in "belt tightening mode".

My current job is 10 minutes away from my house. This potential new one would mean a 90 min. commute each way everyday and a heck of a lot more responsibility.

But, of course with that would come a rather hefty pay raise.

What am I up to ? I'm blown away at the moment. Do I want to drive THREE hours five days a week ??? Do I want to say goodbye to all of the people I take care of everyday ? (I'm an R.N. at an assisted living facility)

I'm blown away and confused. What a way to start the new year !

Think hard - we commute over an hour a day - sometimes it really gets to you. Sometimes stuff happens and the commute is even longer. But other times you just drive and forget how long it is - but that is a long commute. Besides the raise - is this a job you'll really love? Good luck with your decision!

And sweating... its really hot here today.

It always amazes me how weather can be so drastically different in other parts of the world. It is 35 here right now! Brrr!

Waiting for my DD to call to say she's in labor - due date is today. :) (Don't think it will be today!)

Congratulations!!! Let us know how things go.

I'm sitting on the couch watching Iron Chef, facebooking, DISing, and have the first line of a book I have always wanted to write written.

Did you see the two hour one last night with the White House chef? I had to TIVO the second half because I had to go to bed (work began today for me, too - boo). I also loved Worst Cooks in America. Lots of great Food Network TV lately! :happytv:

Wow. Tough call here. I'm not sure if my experience will help you decide what to do or not, but I commuted 45-60 minutes one way for eight years. I just bought my own home recently because it was taking a toll on me. It honestly diminished my quality of life. I am LOVING being literally five minutes away from my job. Things are so much nicer now! Let us know what you decide.

Just came back from San Diego,CA (:.
I feel so drunk. (Even though I don't drink...)

Good morning, all!!

It's finally Hump Day! Just three more days until the weekend. I think I'm going to celebrate by hitting Starbucks later. ;)

What's everyone up to tonight?

I just got done hanging curtains in the new house, cleaning a bit, and making dinner. I unfroze some Mexican chicken tortilla soup from a few weeks ago and also made a Mexican version of Disneyland's pomme frittes. Mmmmm...:goodvibes

at the moment I would say I have the blues....... I am feeling very behind in life. lately I have no sense of self worth or any thing good about myself. I am starting a new job on monday and haven't worked in over a month I am sure this is the culprit of the blues but I know another reason is that this new job is NOT what I want to be doing with my life. yes it's a job and in this economy I am lucky to have it but I am just getting down on myself:sad2:

enough with my Eeyore gloom hope the rest of you are doing well!:goodvibes

We took Jessie to the vet. She is hoarse, but she is okay for the most part. We are making her some chicken noodle soup for her snack. We had different entrees for dinner-- leftover chicken soup for me...turkey/pinto mix in tortillas for him (from freezer).

We are watching some DVR'ed shows later and catching up on some e-mails.

Watching national treasure with dd who is sick

I love those movies! National Treasure really is a unique set of films. The writers are really creative, don't you think?

Marinating flank steaks and staying calm for my 5 mile race tomorrow.

What kind of marinade? I've been dying to make steak lately.

:hug::hug::hug: Life has its ups and downs. It's how you deal with the downs that bring the ups to you quicker. :grouphug:

I just placed the Girl Scout Cookie order for my daughter's troop! We had to order before selling this year - I sure hope these girls can sell all 1440 boxes we just ordered!

I think it's time for bed now!

Watching a movie and checking the boards....

Taking down Christmas window candles, taking down tree, watching birds, doing laundry, steaming some shirts, watching birds, watching football (go Eagles cause I think Jet/Eagles would be cool).:cool1:

1440 boxes of cookies? Oh my!! You'll need a lot of milk to go with all of those. ;)
