I started this thread because I thought it would be nice to have a place where DISbrides could share their extra materials from their wedding projects with their DISbride friends - but I just looked it up and it's against the rules! Waaaaa!

Oh yea - forgot to look up the rules - and it's RULE #1! So - forget this thread!

1. FOR SALE
For sale ads are strictly prohibited on any of the DISboards. Anyone posting such ads will have their post deleted. This same policy applies to links to your ebay/auction listings . "For sale" posts includes requests for donations (see below). In addition, "Vote for me" posts are not permitted on the DIS. This includes requests for support in an online contest, sweepstakes, lottery or other event designed to yield personal gain.

3. POSTS REQUESTING "DONATIONS"
From time to time our members ask to post information about a fund raiser or other support event for charity. If you are participating in or wish to promote a charitable event, please email the webmaster at corey@wdwinfo.com for permission first. We only allow posts that are in support of registered non-profit organizations and donations must be made directly to the organization in question via the internet. No requests for cash, money orders, checks or items to an individual, or personal address will be permitted. All such requests must be approved by the webmaster PRIOR to being posted. We're sorry, but requests for school/sports fund raisers are not permitted.

That rule sounds as if it's only against the rules if you are using this place just to advertise your own sales... this thread may actually squeak by. I'd e-mail the webmaster to get some clarification.

Hopefully its just for professional businesses. I think it would be great to have a thread where we could buy extra supplies, or even things people are selling after their wedding!

It would be really cool to have this thread available. I was just on a thread reading about a bride not knowing what to do with an old card box in the shape of Cinderella's coach now that the wedding's over.

I'd be interested. I have extra wedding stuff sitting in my closet that my husband keeps threatening to throw away, lol. I have BAGS of ribbon and paper goods that I don't want to throw away but really don't need.

I don't think it is allowed..i know the only board where you are allowed to make a profit or sell things are the DVC rent/trade boards. The Disney wedding blog has a classifieds section though, so maybe everyone could list their stuff there instead.

Maybe it is a liability issue? But then it is odd that they'd allow the DVC rentals. Let us know what the mod says. If anyone has any of the mickey head fans (without writing obviously) I'd be interested I don't have a cricut and cannot justify buying the big one for just a few fans.

I would be really interested in this thread too! I still don't think it will be allowed though. The phrasing saying you can't even include links to your ebay/auctions makes it sounds like it's not just for professional businesses, but everyone. Maybe for special circumstances they'd make an exception? This certainly wouldn't be spamming or anything close to it.

I'm a scrapbooker with a scrapbook ROOM and couldn't justify buying one, either, LOL! So I just hand-cut them. It took a while to cut them carefully, but I only needed 20, so that's two sides for the program and two pieces of colored cardstock to back them, so 80 mouse heads total. They came out really nice, IMHO.

And not to get too off-track ... I like the idea of a market thread, too, but think it's probably not gonna get approved. As a possible alternative, Carly's Disney Wedding Blog has a classifieds section. It doesn't seem to have a lot of action, but maybe if we all started using it? Just a thought.

Thanks for the inspiration pixie. I'm going to attempt a trial head fan pretty soon just cutting by hand to see if it comes out acceptable. My sister has a few friends that have cricuts and she said she can borrow one - only I have no idea how to use one! I've never even seen one...lol.
