The BEST PART.. aside from losing weight is that even people that didn't participate learned something about Atkins! By understanding the diet we have the best chance of making it work for us. I don't think 4 carbolite bars and a mock danish were what Doctor Atkins had in mind, but rather a salad or something healthy.
The truth is that what I have found is that something like a salad per day won't make the least bit of difference. When I say a salad I mean a big handful of greens with some 0 calorie dressing and maybe a little tomato, cucumber or onion. It's the atkins bars and the mock everything that really cause the problems and I think everyone learned that. So for those of you that are going to stay on pure Atkins, add a salad, it's ok
I hope everyone noticed something else. These were not people just starting out but people who were already doing serious Atkins. That means they were already in Ketosis and did NOT get that initial bump that you frequently get when you start a new diet. 4 pounds in a week when you have already been on the diet is incredible!!!
