The "We have one whole year to wait" Now a Trip Report

1.) Breakfast - Going to do an early breakfast at Kona - Ken has been drooling over the Tonga Toast since he saw a pic of it at the food porn thread.
2.) MouseEars - After breakfast, we’ll decide where we want to go since IT’S OUR LAST FULL DAY.
3.) Nap - we’ll take the all important nap. Ken and I will probably pack since IT’S OUR LAST FULL DAY.
4.) Dinner - we’re going for an early dinner/late lunch at Crystal Palace. This will be our last Character meal.
5.) MouseEars - It’s up to the kids what we do next. I’m assuming MK since we’ll be there already, but we’ll see. Then it’s back to the hotel FOR OUR LAST NIGHT IN DISNEY.

1.) Breakfast - I’m up in the air between Trail’s End Buffet and Boatwright’s for breakfast. The answer about the carseats in Taxi’s will make up my mind. If we need carseats and they don’t provide them, we’ll eat at Trail’s End Buffet. Maybe Whispering Canyon Café. My husand REALLY wants to eat here, but Ainsley is terrified (and that’s putting it mildly) of stick horses. Real horses she’s fine with, but you put a stick horse anywhere near her, and she is literally trying to climb the walls in order to escape. I REALLY want to eat at Boatwrights, but not at the expense of losing an hour or more trying to get there. (Hence the carseats being the answer to make up my mind.) Maybe Ainsley will not be afraid of stick horses by the time we go. I want an early breakfast since this is our last day. Not crazy early, but not the last breakfast either.
2.) MouseEars - We’ll spend the day hitting all the rides we didn’t get to hit and wanted to, and going and seeing the favorites.
3.) Flight home - Not sure what time our flight will be yet, but it won’t be a direct flight (it leaves at 9am, so not doing that for our last day.) We’ll probally eat CS for lunch and dinner. Depending on our flight, maybe I’ll try and make reservations for our favorite place that we ate last minute. No guarantee that we’ll get in, but I can try. If not, we’ll eat CS.

hey shmuu - this right here is why I'm going to Yak and Yetti -http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/animalkingdom/photos/yakyeti/Crispy-Honey-Chicken.jpg

Mmmmmm...honey chicken.

(Can anyone here tell I like food?)

I just saw a thread, and thought I'd share the cute idea someone had for one of the photos, in case anyone reading is going to the photo shoot. They suggested to have everyone in matching Mickey Ears for photos. I thought that was a cute idea! Sounds like we'll need to buy Mickey Ears during our trip!

Hey Laura,

Congrats on the new beautifull baby boy. You have a lovely family.

I was just catching up on the tr and found that you and I might be there at the same time. I am planning on going around the 11th of sept. for nine days. The only glitch is my husband wants to go in Aug. Right when it's the busiest. He just doesn't get it. I will have to work my magic and just explain his craziness to him.

You have also inspired me to keep it a secret from the kids. But i just don't know if I have the strength for that.

Hey IkeandMike! So it's going to be my family, your family AND shmuu's family all down at the same time!Guess September is going to be a busy month. I'm hoping for free dining. Maybe that would convince your husband? It's value season on top of it. Would less money convince your husband? Those were the 2 factors that convinced us. The kids birthday's were a perk!

I can't tell how old your kids are in your signature picture, but I was 12, and my 2 sisters were 9 and turning 5. I know from the kids perspective, we were ....I'm not even sure of the word....shocked is way too mild of a word for what we were feeling! Our parents had told us we were going to Myrtle Beach. I was an OCD planner back then too, so I had gone to the library and checked out books on Myrtle beach, had of list of things I wanted to see and do down there etc. I used to get very car sick (still do if I'm sitting in the back), so I always took draumamin (sp?) which of course leaves me feeling very with. That was perfect for my parents because they knew I'd figure it out eventually if I wasn't drugged. So we get down into the Carolina's, I'm looking foward to finally getting out of the car, and my Mom say "We're so close to Georgia, and I've always wanted to see Georgia. Let's just keep driving and see what Georgia looks like." My Dad thinks this is a great idea, and suggest that we stay over night in Georgia, and then in the morning we'll turn around and go back to Myrtle Beach. I'm thinking this is the craziest idea I've ever heard, I'm mean we're here right? Who cares what Georgia looks like! But on we drive into Georgia. Silly me assumed we were going to stop and DO something in Georgia. When I asked hwat we were going to do in Georgia, the answer was "Just drive and see what Georgia looks like." We stayed overnight at a nights in, and my parents were afraid I was getting too suspicious. (I was more wondering what was WRONG with my parents that this was their idea of a vacation). So the next morning, we have breakfast at the adjacent waffle house and my parents give me a whole draunamine pill. I was supposed to take a half I remind them. They assure me I'll be fine. I remind them that we won't be getting in the car for like an hour, they assure me it'll be fine. By the time we left the pancake house, I could barely walk the world is SPINNING and I'm crying because I am NOT fine! My parents get us in the car, I'm barely able to keep my eyes open, but I'm still slightly coherent as we make a right hand turn out of the parking lot. and I think "Wait, that's not right, we're going further into georgia going this way......I'm probally to drugged to be right." That was the last thing I remembered until my dad woke me up. Their plan had worked. I missed the Welcome to Florida sign, all the Disney billboards, everything that may have clued me in. My dad tells me to wake up and get into the back seat with Vicki and Zay - he wants to take a picture of us. I start freaking that I can't take my seatbelt off in the car - that's dangerous - my dad's yelling just do it. I grumble and get back in the backseat. He pull's out the camera and says "Smile. We're going to Disney World" click. click. The 1st picture we're all smiling, not really processing what he just said, the next picture is my youngest sister still completly oblivious, but Zay and me with our mouths agape our eyes wide. He then pulled out the tickets, assured us he wasn't teasing, and then took another picture of us smiling ear to ear. This surprise was what inspired us to surprise our kids! Definitly the best!

Oh my Goodness. what a great story. I was rolling. They drugged you into submission. Too funny. I wouldn't put it past me now that you have given me the idea. ha ha.

I was an OCD planner back then too, so I had gone to the library and checked out books on Myrtle beach, had of list of things I wanted to see and do down there etc.

:lmao: Wow already at 12, you were off to an early OCD start! That is a great story!

Your plans look great.
We are definitely shooting for Yak and Yeti.
18 days and I can call for ADR.:cool1:
LOVE the story about what your parents did when you were little.:wizard:

:cool1: We're going to be adding another day onto our vacation - not at Disney, but at a hotel next to the airport the night before. I had looked on the internet, and everything I came across was $120 + a night, and that was just silly to me to pay that much when we live so close (about 1/2 an hour away). But one of Ken's co-workers told Ken about the Comfort Inn by the airport, it has a shuttle to the airport, free breakfast, and stores your car for the price of the stay. (for $89) Sold! So we'll surprise the kids in the morning, do some last minute packing, head up to the city at dinner time and have dinner, go to the hotel and hang out, go to bed early and then get up at 7 instead of 5, and go to the airport! I'm hoping that by being in the hotel, it will seem like the vacation has already started and the kids will sleep a little more soundly.

That is such a fantastic idea and a good deal too.
It'll probably help keep your kids more rested too.
Look at my ticker. Almost at 6 months.:cool1:

:cool1: I love Shmuu's ticker! It let's me know Disney is getting closer!!:cool1: I've got 21 days until I can make reservations!!

Yeah, I can't wait for the sept. calender!!!! The car seat issue, hmmm, I have taken a few taxi's never been a carseat in one. Will you have the baby's seat with you, so at least you won't have to worry about that one? Also, if you have just the booster seat can you check it with your luggage, it's small and most likely won't be too annoying to lug around. That way you will have at least seats for the two youngest ones.

Woohoo!! I have a cool Disney Ticker! So, a bit off topic, but I thought I'd let everyone know what I've been up to this weekend. We'll, thanks to Shmuu introducing me to flylady.net, I was decluttering and rearranging a few storage baskets in my bathroom a few weeks ago. While sitting there doing that, I noticed a steady "drip drip drip" that I hadn't noticed before. I search around and find a HUGE puddle of water under my shelving unit. My toilet's leaking. I was pregnant and hadn't been able to squeeze myself under there in quite some time, so no clue how long that's been going on. I shove a bucket under it, inform my husband, and thank Shmuu for unintentionally averting a huge bathroom disaster.......well.....ummmm....not so much with the averting a huge bathroom disaster. Thanks to some marvoulous grey ooze that started seeping up from under the linoleum, we realized we had a BIG problem. Turns out we had not one, not two, not three, but four - count 'em, FOUR - leaks coming from our toilet. All but one were under the surface. And the major culprit would be the wax ring (the part of the toilet that keeps sewage from leaking out of the toilet and into your floor boards) had broken. Looking back, I'm thinking the problems started before the summer of 2006, because thats when the mushrooms started growing. (I know we should have known something major was up, but we didn't.) SO....we got to do what I've wanted to do since we moved in! Take the bathroom down to the studs and redo it!!! It's still not finished, but it's getting there. If you want to take a look at pictures, here's the link:

Oh the dreaded bathroom problems. I hate them. However, I am glad that you finally get to redo the bathroom, remodeling is always fun!!!
