The WDW Girly Tour -3 SLEEPS TO GO!!(update 8/20,#97)

Ok just a few more that might interest you. We have the now defunct (think thats a real word) character bus....I really miss that bus:
disneyworld2005113.jpg

remember i said that peter pan was the flavour of the month? Well we did the Family Magic Tour for just that reason:
disneyworld2005001.jpg

This was an awesome experience, my kids got to walk through Mk holding Wendy's hands and sit next to her in Philharmagic, they had a ball!
Oh yes, and lots of princess dining, in the castle and Norway:

I felt such a pro when i got that CRT PS, I had the phone technique all ready to go:rotfl: So we had a fantastic time, which meant it was never gonna be a one off, no way....well technically that was our 2nd family trip but I wasn't done yet, no way!!!:cheer2:

Ok lets fast forward a little to 2006, and to a strained family atmosphere. Dh was made redundant in April and we were already having problems, we were so young when we met (18 and 20) and we plunged straight into weddings and pregnancies, so when we settled into routine there was nothing of a relationship left. We tried separation in May but it was a 2 week wonder, and decided to book the honeymoon we never had. On our wedding day we already had a 5 week old baby, so a real honeymoon wasn't an option, and we went to the coast for a few days but came back quite early. have you ever tried sterilising baby bottles in a hotel room? Just not happening! So here was my big idea, the kids were already going camping with my in-laws for a week, so what about if we take a late honeymoon? Stranger things have happened, and we may find each other again.
If its a honeymoon, then there are standards that have to be met, and it had to be the Polynesian. It just has tropical paradise all over it really;

So we had a great week acting like big kids, and we toured....well commando style lets say, which left us exhausted and not in the least romantic. Ok there were good times:
wdwaug06020.jpg

wdwaug06087.jpg

but there were times when we couldn't have been more apart. out of 7 days i spent 2 1/2 touring alone, he wasn't feeling the mouse (just as well actually otherwise there might be charges involved:rotfl:)
the end came one night in the California Grill, the night ebfore we left actually, and we sat across from each other and had nothing to say...not one word...until we looked at each other and said "Its over isn't it?" We were too different, the love and respect had gone. We landed on the 11th August and he left the 23rd, the day after my birthday.
No remorse or pity though please, I'm actually having a great life, and me and the kids are doing better than ever. We have so much fun, like once a week we'll have a kitchen carnival, the music will be on, the kids can dance and sing loud and mommy cooks dinner. this weekend we went to a movie and have a day out tomorrow, and although ex-H sees them one day a week, thats about all he can handle. he loves them very much but has always felt outnumbered and incapable around them together, there is something missing in him, but thats ok because i have enough to give for both of us. Which brings me to October 2006....

Love the pictures! Thanks for sharing the memories!

Sorry to hear about the relationship troubles! I hope everything works out for you. A good trip to see the mouse will make everything better! It always does.

Good luck and I can't wait to read more!

Hi Michelle, welcome to OUR trip report!!:woohoo: Thanks for the piccie too, very nice:goodvibes You definately don't have to dress up if you don't want to, I haven't ordered my one yet, Carly is in two minds about whether to wear one at all, so don't worry too much. if I do, its all for jack Sparrow's benefit anyway:lmao:

My annual pass voucher arrived this morning, but I can't figure out how to crack the code for logging on to the website, so if anyone knows the secret, please pass it on. Its all in those last 8 digits....help!!:confused3

To Kaylee and Shannon,
I apologise for not replying sooner, your comments are much appreciated, thanks for stopping by:grouphug:
To DisneyDad, a trip to the mouse makes everything feel better while you are there, i think I'm gonna be fine:goodvibes Thanks for stopping by again!

Just to add to Claires pre-trip report.

Today I booked my flights. After months of waiting. I am flying with Virgin Premium Economy both ways. Rather expensive and now having to work all hours god sends to pay for it. It will be worth it in the end.

I just hope I dont miss my family too much. Thats the only worry I have now. I have left the kids before. Bruce and I went to NYC for three nights and I took my dd to WDW with me, whilst Bruce stayed at home to have the boys. They were 6 months at the time.

I will be sharing a towncar with Claire and Carly to Boardwalk and most probably be getting ME for the way home. Due to the flights being so expensive a free ride from ME is great. I cant refuse such an offer.

I think thats all the plans so far from me. :thumbsup2

so as michelle has posted, all three of us have airfare, i feel for Michelle as she had to pay a nasty fare but i really hope we can make it all worth it for her. So a couple of questions for today:

RESORT REMORSE, IS IT COMMON?

So as you know we have a booking at the Boardwalk, and theres nothing wrong with that. Buuuuttttt.....well am i the only one who repeatedly logs on to disneyworld.com just to have a look and price up other resorts? For $200 more i could be staying at the Polynesian, for $500 less i could stay at Wilderness lodge, if anyone wants to reassure me/persuade me about my resort choice or a different one, then go ahead, it could be kinda fun to watch me ramble for a couple more pages, and while we're on the subject of my wavering mind:

DINING REMORSE
Did anyone else notice that all my dining choices are either buffet or set menu? What was i thinking to have an adult trip, meaning i can actually sit in a grown up restaurant with a free choice menu and take my time, and then go and book a ton of buffet/family style restaurants?

I mean, look for yourself,
Liberty tree Tavern, Crystal palace, CRT, Biergarten, Ohana, Cape May cafe,

the others I have are : 50s Prime Time, Mama Melrose and Raglan Road.

I'm seriously thinking of swapping ohana with Kona Cafe, and Cape may cafe with California Grill, just so i get a little grown up dining. i don't know, what do you all think?

I promised to get to my October recap a few days ago, so will try to get to that later xx

I would love to stay at the Boardwalk but CSR is pricey enough for the 4 of us! The Boardwalk is great for walking to Epcot apparently but everyone loves the Poly oh and I've heard great things about WL too! Was that helpful :rotfl:

As for dining everyone raves about Kona, that's where we're having a meal the night of our meet (25th) and again I've heard great things about CG! Are you doing LTT at Lunch as that menu is meant to be good! How about Le Cellier?

We're doing LTT dinner our first night as carly has never met any characters before and i thought it would be a good experience for gher, then Spectro and Wishes, thought it would be a brilliant first night for her. Did Le Cellier before and didn't love it, maybe Marrakesh would be a good choice for us, don't know yet.

LITTLE UPDATE
After a 30 minute phone call, yes really!!, they managed to add Michelle to the room ressie. Apparently if you make an internet room booking it bars them from altering your ressie if you phone up, now theres something new:confused3 Turns out it was an address problem, not web problem, typical. i also just bought 3 princess and pirate party tickets for the 8/28 with AP discount, then rang Disney Dining Experience and bought membership to that! Phew, that was a busy hour,

Ok, off to do the school run, have a disney happy day xx

Your trip report is fabulous! I love it!
I have my own but its mostly me rambling... lol... to myself! Haha!
But I love that you shared your pictures and stories (I screamed when I saw the pic of you with the Gummi Bears! What happened to great shows like that anyways.... "Gummi bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere..."- what ever happened to Tale Spin too? Look at me rambling already!)
Anyways I noticed you mentioned Le Cellier and Marrakesh- if you need any input on World Showcase restaurants by the time my DBF and I return from our second trip this July we will have hit every country for lunch or dinner. Regardless, we have lots of pics from last time and I did lots of research our first trip planning the best meals. My favorite was San Angel Inn (don't know if I spelled that right but its in Mexico)!
Anyways, great job you are going to have the best time! :goodvibes

I screamed when I saw the pic of you with the Gummi Bears!
Hi there ThinkTink75, thanks for your sweet comments. that was actually my brother, he used to be cute:lmao: i so miss the Gummi bears, tale Spin etc like you said. over here in the uk they are actually showing Goof Troop and Duck tales at the mo, and my kids are getting to discover them, its excellent. You are so lucky trying out all those restaurants, I've been to Teppanyaki and Le Cellier so far, heres hoping I make it round them all.

I am so excited for your trip! Your kids are so lucky to have a mom like you!
Hi to you, I don't know if my kids would always agree with you but i do my best, my DD is actually having a girly sleepover tonight, so I'm writing this while listening to hannah Montana, think I like it as much as the girls though:rotfl: We try to live each day with love and fun:thumbsup2

Thankyou to all who have read so far and don't be afraid to say hi:grouphug:

Hi there Claire -- I linked over from your message from my post... Nice to meet you over here! Your kids and pictures are wonderful!

Hi Claire,

Came on over to check out the girly pre-trip. It sounds like a much needed vacation for you. I know that I love my DS, but sometimes I love being away for times of refreshing.:goodvibes I hope your vacation brings some good times and that, like my own goal, you don't need a vacation to recover from your Disney vacation:laughing: although, flying across the ocean, I don't know if that's possible. So, how do you prep to come over? What is the time difference?

My Mom was fortunate enough to go to England to visit the Chelsea Flower Show. I don't know if you know about that, apparently it's a really big deal for those into gardening, etc. She has a really funny story about going over there. We lived in CA at the time, and she went with the garden club (think fisty silver haired women and my mom, only in her 40s. Anyway, her one friend gradually put herself on England time over a period so that she was sleeping and wake at very odd times for CA. So she was raring to go on arrival in England when everyone else was deadbeat and going to sleep at like 2 pm in the afternoon. She dragged my mom around town and they ended up talking to someone who was remodeling their house. They got a tour etc from the proud homeowner who was busy installing a pool in the basement. This is so funny for our family because I had suggested that to my parents as a 12 year old when they were complaining that a townhouse didn't have enough yard for a pool. I said, just put it in the basement. Well, they thought I was nuts and low and behold...apparently, someone else was nuts too.:lmao:

I ramble...hope you don't mind. Because really, what do you do to prepare? I would love to go to England...there was a movie with Cameron Diaz about someone from CA and someone from England doing a house swap, really cute chick flick movie. I recommend. I can't remember the name though...enough! I will stop now. Looking forward to hearing about your plans as you make them.

Hi Claire

I think everything you book you can remorse. At the moment I am thinking oh my about my flights. Once I have flown I will be fine.

I personally would be looking at cheaper, but moderate hotel. Especially when BW etc are so much money.

Have you thought about San Angel?
