The Wave??

Hi,
I have areservation at "The Wave" at Contemp. but can't find much out there on it. I guess it is a new restaurant. Does anyone have any experience at it?

The Wave is on the first floor of the Contemporary and it has no windows. You will not be able to see Wishes or anything else from there.

The 4th floor deck is open to anyone. Just ask a CM where the deck is located (NW corner if that helps).

California Grill is on the 15th floor. Access there is limited.

CRFan or others will know better but you should be able to see some of Wishes by walking out the front of the CR on the ground level. But you will see more from the 4th floor.

While it's true that you can also watch Wishes by bus station, however one difference is you won't be able to hear the music from there. So at least it's played on the 4th floor observation deck.

I reviewed The Wave shortly after it opened on my flog. I also visited again in October and still wasn't very impressed. The food is so-so, and the dining room, once you get past the fun entrance and the chi-chi bar area, looks like a coffee shop in a Motel 6. We ate at the Wave in October and had a wonderful experience! We thought the food was excellent and we had the server was one of the best of the trip. I would recommend it.

We switched reservations the day before, so I was a little hesitant, but my DH really wanted to try it. I say go for it

I ate at the Wave on 11/22 and it was the best dinner/experience of our trip. We were on the dining plan and I kept thinking "and this is only 1 TS?". Compared to Tuto Italia (where we ate 2 days before), this was way above!

We had dinner at the Wave this past August. I have to say right off that we were fans of the Contemporary Cafe and so, and maybe not rightly so, we were comparing it to the "old" restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful, the best we had all vacation (my daughter and I rate our waitstaff!!), but the food was not as good as we hoped. I really really hate to say anything bad about a restaurant because I believe that everyone has different tastes and should go and try for themselves. The atmosphere, IMHO was not what we expected either. The entrance is nice, but once you get inside the restaurant it's nothing special. I think Disney could have done a better job. The staff asked us what we thought on our way out and I told them I missed the "old" restaurant. I just don't get that they have to keep trying new things. Sometimes the tried and true is better. We go to Disney a few times a year and love to go to our favorite restaurants. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I love the go back to the same old, same old at Disney. It just feels right and like home!!

We went the last Sunday in August and we all loved it. Good food & nice atmosphere.

We loved it, I wanted to go back again duirng the same trip.. that was a first!
It is definately quality over quantity (not a stuff you face till you drop place, but hey, I can enjoy that too! ) And the menu definately didnt appeal to me, but was very glad I tried it. The menu just didnt seem to do the food justice

DH and I loved the mashed celery root!

We will give it a shot! With reservations being as hard to get as they are (I had no idea about the 180 day window...regardless, since I booked our trip a few weeks ago, 180 days were way gone!) I hope it will be a nice final dinner for our big tour1

We ate there on 11/17 and wasn't impressed. The steak was great and so was the desserts but everything else sucked. Ds's kids meal had 3 little chicken things (we thought it was fish at first with the batter they put on it) and 3 potato wedges. Dh hated his pork and all I ate was the steak and dessert. We won't be going there again.
