We had the pleasure of dining at The Wave last weekend and it was incredible. Its funny because I really was not that excited about eating there and tried to get last minute ressies to the California Grill (I am a dreamer). We arrived at the Wave at about 7 p.m. and had a drink in the bar first. The bar tender was really nice and we had several signature drinks, one was a coffee martini that my husband loved (with a lot of chocolate), I had a glow-tini and our son had a non-alcohol strawberry daquari which was really delicious.

Dinner at the Wave was perfect. We started with the crab cake appetizer with crispy papaya slaw which was truly high quality. When I saw the presentation I thought it was going to be a bit dry but you did not need any sauces, etc to enjoy the crab cakes. My husband had the soup of the day which was black bean chili. It was not spicy but had a lot of complex flavors. That was our favorite.

Entrees: I had the beef tenderloin which was served with celery/gold potato mash and wilted greens and root vegetables. I have had steak in many places but this was one of the best I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly and went with the sides very well. The steak was so tender a knife was not really needed. My husband had the lamb with lentil stew. He enjoyed it very much. Our son had the flank steak with guacamole. Extra guacamole was happily provided at no extra cost. He also ordered the fingerling potatoes and we shared the roasted carrots which were of very high quality and prepared flawlessly.

Dessert is really special at the wave. It was near my birthday so they presented me with the Creamy Indulgence for free which had Cheesecake with Raspberry Coulis, Coconut Panna Cotta with Passion Fruit Drizzle, and Chocolate-Passion Fruit Mousse with Pecan-Olive Brittle. The combinations of flavors were really outstanding and it was so nice to have a little of three different desserts. My husband had the Decadent Flavor combination and our son had the Crispy and Crunchy which included zucchini carrot cake. YUM!

The children's menu was basic but our daughter enjoyed the chicken nachos and the sorbet combination. I tasted hers and especially loved the lemon basil, which was tart and sweet at the same time.

You really must try this restuarant. It was moderately priced by disney standards and truly offered high quality, organic, fresh foods. It is now my favorite place..I can't wait to try breakfast there!:thumbsup2

Service was excellent and very friendly/laid back. I felt very comfortable there and did not feel rushed. The staff also presented me with a beautiful card that was signed by at least ten employees wishing me a happy birthday. Very nice touch!

Thank you for your review!
We are going in May and it seems like it is one of the harder places to find reviews on, guess because it is fairly new.
Can't wait to try the steak :)

Thanks so much for the review! We are going in May and I can't wait to try that lamb!!:goodvibes

We were there last week and also loved the Wave. It definitely rivals the 2-table-service credit places. I hope the quality stays the same once the word gets out.

I am so glad you loved it! We went there last month and DH and I proclaimed it the best meal ever! We are going to try Cali Grill next month (never been) but DH is driving me crazy about going back to the Wave!

Hmmm, we were planning to try breakfast here but I've been reading so many great dinner reviews that maybe we should do dinner too! The desserts alone would make the meal for me!:thumbsup2

I agree that it rivals the two dining credit restaurants. My steak was, I think, $29, and it really was worth every penny. I forgot to mention the whole grain fresh baked bread that brought out before the meal. It was different than your average dinner roll or sour dough, etc. Very yummy!

Also, the WAVE is having special price fixe dining parties over the next few months for those who have the dining discount cards. The waiter gave me a copy (I lost it!) but it was drinks, appetizers, desserts, etc. chef tastings for approx. $90 per person gratuitity included. If I lived closer to Orlando I would so be there!:goodvibes

I am so glad you enjoyed The Wave. I just added this to our ADR's for our upcoming trip and was surprised that they had wide open availability. :confused3 That worried me a little but every review I have read on here has been positive.

I am glad to hear all the great reviews. We just planned a trip for the beginning of May and Wave was open for a time and day we had to make a reservation for yet. Sounds great. Thanks!!

My daughter is going there for easter brunch! The menu sounds wonderful!

Glad to read another great review. We cancelled our reservation there in November when we were in a park and knew we wouldn't make it there but made one for our trip in May.

Its at the Contemporary Resort. It took the place of the old Concourse Steakhouse. It's been open about a year and seems to get good reviews.
While your right it did replace the Concourse Steakhouse, it's actually located in the lobby where the Food & Fun Center use to be.

I'm very glad to hear that you had a great experience at the wave. We have a reservation for Easter dinner. I really wasn't thrilled about this reservation, kept trying to get something else but this is what was available. I thought that the menu sounded too "healthy" and that wasn't what I was looking for on Easter. Your post made me feel much better about my reservation and maybe now I will give up trying to find something else.
