Booking a quick 3 day trip and considering booking the Wave for dinner. For those that have had dinner there what is good and what is your overall opinion?

My family and I have always enjoyed it there. I think I had a really good short rib dish there once. The dining room is pretty large, so it's not very quiet, but food-wise, it has a good range of options and the service was good (I never felt rushed). The only thing we haven't done there is dessert.

We just ate there for lunch last week. We were a party of 11 and all of us enjoyed our food. We tried almost all entrees on the menu. The Noodle bowl, Chicken Sandwich and the Reuben Sandwich was all delicious. I had the protein bowl and it hit the spot as I was trying to eat light. We have eaten there for dinner on other trips and it was so good - I just can't remember what we ate. I love that you can get last minute reservations.

We had great food (I had a crab cake appetizer for my entree and loved it), great waiter, great bar.

I don't actually love the atmosphere, it reminds me of a convention center banquet room. But a couple glasses of wine takes care of that! :)

Yes! Thank you - I was beginning to think I was the only one.

I wasn't blown away by the food, either, so after trying it once, we've passed it by on subsequent trips in favor of new places or old favorites.

It’s good, not great. Definitely better than the majority of the restaurants in MK. We like to eat lunch or dinner there on an MK day (either there or Grand Floridian Cafe).

While not at the level of Jiko or Citricos, The Wave surprised us in January 2017. The gnocci was first-rate, and the service attentive and kind, compensating for the sense in which the area is reclaimed convention space (we know it was the Fiesta Fun Center at one point).

We ate here a few years ago and I remember it being a one and done. The restaurant is large but they put 2 people next to our table so that we might as well have sat together. So many other empty tables so that turned us off to this restaurant.

However DS and his family just had dinner there and felt it was one of the best dinners they had. So we are willing to give it another try.

I was also looking at the crab cake appetizer as my entree. I was wondering if you got an appetizer size plate or larger and were charged more. DH & I would probably split this and the filet.

I was very impressed by the staff at this restaurant. I booked a reservation for a large party several hours before we wanted to eat (my husband stinks at planning for a work group he wanted to go out to eat with), and the manager found me in the lobby and explained how he was going to make our party work so we didn't have to wait for a table to open up. He came over to me midway through dinner to double check that everything was ok. Everyone liked their meals and they did a great job of working with a picky child eater too. We've been to the lounge here many times and always enjoy it and our conversations with the bartenders. The menu has a good variety of options.

Had dinner there on 8/06. We had 7:15 reservations, checked in at 7, they asked for my cell, said they would text when we were ready to be seated. Headed to the Wave Bar, good bartenders, they know how to make a darn good cocktail there. We received our drinks, then the text came. Settled up, headed to the dining room. Service was very good, my favorite appetizer is the Bacon & Eggs but we opted for 2 cheese boards, excellent assortment of Brie, Blue, and Goat cheese w/ a nice asst. of bread and crisps. We were 5, our entrees were (2) of the Filet Mignon (served as ordered, medium rare, served with rich potato gratin), (2) of the Braised Short Ribs (delishely succulent & savory), and the Noodle Bowl with Chicken (looked good but I didn't taste it). It was one of the best dinners of the trip. When you look at the pictures of the dining room, it looks pale and somewhat un-inviting, but in reality it has a warm glow and even more so at night. We were seated in a big, comfortable booth, very nice ambiance. On the 5th day, (check-out day :sad1: ) we had Breakwast at the Wave, they serve a really good buffet, and those Tillamook Cheddar grits, wow, what a way to feature grits, yum! And the best bit, The Wave's prices are quite reasonable for Disney, excellent meal, frankly a better meal than we had at THBD, better than my last 2 meals at CG (yes, the California Grill).

I just got the appetizer plate. It was enough for me as we also had appetizers. :)

I should point out that The Wave's bar-lounge is one of the best places to grab a cocktail in the middle of a park day. The bartenders are friendly, know where the bodies are buried, and know how to mix. Also, it's rarely crowded in the afternoon unless there's a convention crowd.

I'm excited to try out lunch on my upcoming solo trip. I had originally planned on dinner, and hating I'll miss out on the bacon and egg app.

So I'm considering sneaking in a dinner ADR on my May trip with my bf. Right now it's between The Wave or one of the Floridian restaurants (Citricos or Narcoossee's).
