NOTE1: This is a new location for a breakfast buffet. The Wave buffet has significantly
increased its variety, and now is very much worth the visit. At just under $20 per adult,
it is extremely reasonable for a WDW buffet. For breakfast, it is probably the best-kept
dining secret. it has Mickey waffles and delicious sweet potato pancakes. They use local
fresh fruit and vegetables. For those with a smaller appetite, one can do the usual ala
carte breakfast menu.
The eatery doesn't exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.
Our friends thought the "cheesy grits" were pretty good, but I cannot vouch. I don't do
grits or polenta. I also don't do quiche.
.
NOTE2: Another EXCELLENT breakfast buffet choice is Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. Either
Wave or Trail's End are great values, especially considering the other breakfast prices
at WDW.

Haven't tried the buffet but I'd give the ala carte menu a C+--limited offerings but food is good.

Well since we're staying at the Contemporary and had one unused meal credit on our plan, booked this for one of our mornings at restaurant opening. Looked also at some of the reviews and food pics. Looks good! Thanks for the input!

I usually have good luck there and do manage to eat breakfast there once every trip. Last November, though, was probably the only time I didn't really enjoy it. It seemed like the food sat on the bar too long and the eggs were kind of gross. That is an anomaly though if you ask me.

If yall were going to be selecting between The Wave and Kona Cafe for breakfast, which would you choose?

For us that would be a tough choice. I'm thinking we would alternate between the two of them. Perhaps you just need to decide on table service vs buffet. (Yes, even though the Wave does offer table service ordering off a menu, to us its the buffet.)

We love The Wave for breakfast! The buffet is great and is kept very fresh IMO. Other good choices for breakfast near MK are Kona and Trails End

I would have to agree with you, for us the Wave is about their buffet. I think it is one of the better breakfast buffets in WDW. We discovered this place with a last minute ADR last year when staying at BLT and was very impressed with the buffet. In fact, we booked an ADR at the restaurant for our departure day breakfast as well. I will certainly be going there again in the future.

Now if I was not going to order the buffet and wanted to order from the menu instead I will give the edge to Kona. But with that I will admit while I do eat breakfast I am not a pancake or French Toast eater, especially doused with sugar, carbs, jellies, jams, fruit filling, whip cream and etc or a sausage or bacon fan either. So my opinion here is more observation than personal experience. Outside of buffets I usually just get some oatmeal and fresh fruit.

My husband and son both get the buffet. I love Eggs Benedict and they have them on the buffet, but I've found them to be soggy on the buffet. So I order off the menu and they get the buffet. The Wave is the only Disney restaurant that has regular Eggs Benedict. All the others have added their own touches to the recipe and I don't care for any of them. I don't want pulled pork. I don't want crab. I don't want hash. Just poached egg, Canadian bacon, toasted English Muffin (in lieu of rusk) and hollandaise sauce.
