The Wands

So if you now have your new wand from Olivanders Wand Shop, I have a question. What can the wands actually do? or is just a expensive piece of carved wood? I mean, do they light up or play sounds ...etc? I am very curious TYIA I seen pictures already of them, and they do look really cool

They're cool looking but all they do is sit there. Everyone says they are wood but my hubby's appears to actually be resin...very detailed tho'. You can see it in the other wand thread.

The new, exclusive to WWoHP, Olivander's wands are supposed to be solid wood. The character replica wands, that are made by the Noble Collection are all resin.

And don't you know, the wand doesn't have the magic, it's the wizard. The wand just channels the magic. So tell anyone who can't get their wands to do something fun that they are muggles, or squibs hehe

Seriously though, Noble Collection makes light up wands for Harry, Hermione and Voldemort http://www.wbshop.com/Wands/hpwands,default,sc.html (not sure if you can find them at WWoHP), and there are toy light and sound wands you can usually find on amazon.

Did you look on the other thread? I have a picture of my husband's there. His is an Ollivanders as you can see by the box, but I know for sure it is resin. I hate to confess why but like a big ninny I dropped and broke it when we got it home! I was putting it on display and it fell on the tile floor. Thankfully it broke at one of the rings on the skull's neck so you cannot see the repair.

I've seen the difference in the light up wands compared to the ones that don't actually do anything. The light up ones look alot more like a childs toy. The wands that don't do anything do look really cool, and seem like a very neat souvie!

We'll have to buy one, but myself and DBF will probably differ on what type - I reckon he'll want something with a skull and evil looking, whilst I'll want a more gentle-looking one ah well, he's the bigger fan, so he can get which one he'd prefer :
