So....is anyone else ready for Carl to be killed off? I rolled my eyes at the beginning like 'oh great a Carl episode...'

Nope. I think Rick needs Carl, he has lost enough already. I also think it's important to have a younger character, to see how this type of world affects them. They are going to be the future, if any of them survive. I don't have a strong desire to see anyone killed off, except the gov., there was no way he could live.

I liked the episode because I am a Michonne fan, but I agree the Carl part was a bit slow.

A lot of walking around, looking around, walking some more, Carl mouthing off, more looking around, walking outside, more checking houses etc. I get that they have to give us a sense of what life is like in a post apocalyptic world, but it felt like I was constantly waiting for something to happen and all that happened was they walked around!

I wanted to see what happened to everyone else. And bring back Carol!

I didn't care for Hershel's walker head. That was too much for me. I am glad Michonne decided to go looking for them. Loved Rick's comment " It's for you"!

I liked last night's episode even if it was a bit slow and feature Carl who is not a fave of mine. I like how they are showing us Michonne's backstory, now we know why she was so hard and we know who her first 2 pets were.

I also like how Carl realized he wasn't ok all alone even though he thinks he can take care of himself. Writing on the door about the shoe and then eating all the pudding shoes he is still a kid but also turning into a young man.

I didn't know that so many people disliked Carl like I do lol I can't pinpoint why I dislike him so much, if it's the character or the actor. The actor is not all that great so I'm sure that is part of it. I also don't understand how on the Talking Dead the guests always gush about how great of an actor he is. It's like what!?

For me it's the character; not sure if it would be better with another actor or not.

I think he is a great actor too! I think he does a fabulous job, and last night even more so. I'm going what!? that you don't thinks so.

Carl reminds me of the bratty kids in the Tom Cruise remake of War of the Worlds. Yes, teenagers can be annoying, but most have common sense. I have never liked Carl...he does stupid things that get good people killed.

I always leave wanting to slap Carl or give him a good shake.

My one complaint was the flashback for Michone. It didn't feel like TWD and was it even the same actress? At least we have some background info on her now
I t was her, just a clean version of her! :goodvibes

I thought it was a pretty good episode. I, in general, am not a huge fan when they focus on one main character for an entire episode, but it was still pretty good. I liked Michone's back story, and that Carl worked through some of his resentment of Rick so maybe they can move forward without him being such a...teenager! Great closing line, too! Looking forward to more next week!

I thought it was a good episode.

We had some solid character development in Michonne and Carl. I enjoyed seeing Michonne's backstory and really liked how they presented it.

Carl is an angsty, know-it-all teenager — so, like most kids his age — and when you combine that with everything he's seen and gone through, I can't blame him for lashing out at his dad.

Carl's already shown resentment toward Rick, and this episode he was able to tell him exactly what was on his mind. If Chandler Riggs were a better actor, it would've been a better episode.

I agree, I thought it was a good episode, I liked that Carl got that slap in the face and he realized he isn't as awesome as he was thinking he was. I'm hoping for a step in the right direction for him. I asked DBF "why does he still wear the hat all the time if he isn't that into Rick?" I mean, he never takes it off. lol I liked the Michonne back story a lot, it really spoke volumes about how she is now, I loved that she went back and found Rick and Carl and that she was crying when she found them. She's getting her humanity back and that is a good thing.

I think Carl always wearing the hat just shows how much he loves and needs his father even when he doesn't think so.

I, too, was less than thrilled with this episode. I'd read somewhere that this season will move slower, focusing on the individual characters...but why did they have to start with 3/4 of the episode revolving around Carl?? :rotfl: ;)

I would have been happy if they had spent at least 1/2 the episode on Michonne as we know so little of her background.

This season will really go slowly if they focus each episode on one person. I mean, who do we have left? Glenn, Maggie, Beth, Tyreese, Sasha, Darryl and Carole (I'm assuming they'll bring her back at some point?). This is not counting the various unnamed Woodbury people that may have escaped, since we haven't had a chance to become invested in their characters enough for them to have names.

Trust me, I don't need/want action all the time, but think the interaction between the ensemble cast is what grabs me. Not Carl going through his teenage angst yet again.

I had read an interview that said the group will not be reunited right away. They are all split and will stay in small groups for a while. I guess so they can focus on one or two characters. Not sure if I like that. Did anyone see the TD? They rave on and on about how good of an actor Chandler is. From the previews for next week, it looks like Daryl is with Beth.

I finally watched The Talking Dead last night, OMG my dd and I were howling when Chris was going to feed pudding to Herschel!!!!
