Just when I was thinking it was a pretty dull episode...THAT happened. :scared1:

Did not see that coming. Wow.

I have a feeling Carl's mistake might the same price Rick will pay for not killing Randall when he had the chance.

MTE. He now realizes that actions, especially stupid actions, have consequences.

Will he come clean with his encounter with that walker and maybe blame himself for Dale's death? What about the gun he left behind in he woods?

I agree with Dale's message that killing the kid would be wrong. I know that he's a danger but it flies in the face of what a civilized society does as he pointed out. I thought that it was an interesting problem.

He'll probably be forced to own up to what he did eventually if Rick notices his gun is missing, if his conscience doesn't get the better of him first.

I was glad to see they didn't have to kill the kid and hope it doesn't backfire on them. I was all for them trying the original plan of dropping him off somewhere again. The only reason the plan didn't work the first time was Shane getting a case of the stupids and fighting Rick.

When Dale encountered the cow, for a split second before he was attacked, I thought the cow had turned. I figured that would be the next big shocker (animals turning), not that Dale would die.

I thought so too, especially by the sounds the cow was making.

The noise is the exact reason I thought that. Actually, it is still not too late for something like that to be discovered. I mean, it is dark and they are only focused on Dale at the moment. There are other cows still missing, I think.

Time to board up those house windows! The walkers can get themselves out of the muck if they are determined enough.

I am laughing thinking about a walking dead cow. It gets up and charges people while trying to eat them. What retribution for all the cows humans eat every day. You know what they say about payback. lol

I think that could also be foreshadowing that the farm is close to being overrun. :scared1:

Someone told me Dale was going to die so though I wasn't surprised by that, I WAS surprised how emotional the scene was! I was a wreck! And I am glad that the episode was, for the most part, about Dale and that it wasn't just a meaningless, gory death... his message about them losing their humanity is really going to echo now.

I also got a little tearful when Hershel gave Glenn his pocket watch.

Can't wait for the final two episodes of the season. They're going to be AMAZING!

I never thought about that. Now these cows are a food source, they make noise, are wandering, and like most farm animals.....know where home is and usually go back.

Add me to that list. That cow was making some strange noises.

I also wondered where the walker was when Dale happened upon the cow? In the past we've always seen the walker/walkers so consumed with eating their prey that they barely notice anything else around them. This cow was still alive, moving and making noise...So that walker should have been feasting on the cow. Instead it appeared that he ambushed Dale. If that's what happened then it goes against what the CDC doctor said about the thinking process and what we've seen up to this point.

That makes me also wonder....is there ever a point when they stop eating because they are full?

Horray for Carol for standing up for herself:cheer2:

Carl drives me nuts. Why is it that the world is full of crazy Dead Walkers and this kid has the nerve to walk in the woods? Where in the world are his parents? I just wanted to scream at him when he was yelling at Carol.

Quite the episode last night. Carls attitude was really bugging me. He has become so hardened by it all, and I think that black hat went to his head. ;)
But I think after seeing that the walker that attacked Dale was the one he encountered and tried to be a big man about, but didn't kill, is going to have some consequences on his psyche.

I agree about his attitude. I think that is what would happen though. The adults are all concerned with the fall of civilation and the kid is just thinking....'my parents can't tell me what to do anymore'. I think the fact that the zombie HE awoke was the one that killed Dale is definitely going to effect him.

RIP Dale. I was soooooo sad. :sad1: I LOVE Dales character. I love him in the comics and I love the actor protraying him (looks EXACTLY perfect) and I will miss his character on the show.

Me too! I kept asking my husband...why are they letting this kid out of their sight especially since he's already been shot before??? So frustrating.

Anyone else thinking that the conversation with the kid in the bard about the 30 men and ammo was a foreshadowing of what's to come? Didn't they say they were getting low on ammo? Maybe they will decide to go ambush these people and steal their stuff or something. :confused3

I wanted to spank him. Brat. I couldn't believe the way he spoke to Carol and I really couldn't believe him getting closer and closer to that walker and throwing rocks at it! WTH? And to go into the barn when he was specifically told not to and saying "Do it, Dad.". They baby that kid too much. Now he's responsible to Dale being dead. Ugh.

Awesome episode, btw. I can't believe Andrea's ice cold heart thawed a little.
