The Walking Dead on AMC

Yes, the bullet or casing from Carl's gun. The bones from Lori are a bit troublesome for me too but when I went back and saw the video on AMC they specifically said bones were protruding from the walkers throat. I don't know, I didn't notice the bones or the hair they spoke about. I thought it was weird too that he ate all of her, no remains.

I'm trying to work out whats up with Carol - in the coming attractions they find her knife too. Guess we wait and see but I also would really like it if she is found alive!

What are the graphic novels? The comic books? I think I may start reading that too. Can't get enough! :)

According to the director of this last episode (he was on The Talking Dead), Rick found the bullet casing from when Carl shot Lori. He said that Rick will carry that casing in his shirt pocket for the rest of this season.

The director also talked about Daryl putting that flower "on Carol's grave" (did he let something slip?) but Carol wasn't in the "In Memorial" section on TTD. So we're still left wondering for another week or two if the grave is empty or if it does contain her remains.

That daycare really made me sad. It was jarring to see all those little handprints and to know that most of the hands that made them could now belong to walkers.

Sounds like I need to start recording The Talking Dead! Thanks for clearing up a few questions, It'sWDW4me and JessicaR. Can't wait for next week's episode!

Yes, I am hoping to start on the comic books soon. Partly because I can't get enough Walking Dead (been watching the new webisodes today) and partly because I love comparing source material to the movie/show. It's always interesting seeing the different choices that are made story- and character-wise and how they choose to convey information.

I'm having problems with last week's episode. I'm really, really struggling with the "walker ate Lori." Walkers are formerly human and have human teeth. They cannot grind down bone or crush a skull into bite-sized pieces. She was a skinny little thing but, bones and all, she's bigger than the protrusion of that walker's belly.

And the whole grave this is bothering me also. There were 3 holes, one holds what is left of T-Dog. I can understand filling in the one intended for Lori IF you knew you weren't going to recover her body, but no one but Rick knew that because he was in that boiler room until the end of the epidsode. She he can't walk back out and say, "Ok, go ahead and fill the hole, there's nothing left."

But they did show three graves filled back in, right? :confused3

I don't know. Either they have a new writer, or someone directed this episode and took some liberties, or some stuff was left on the cutting room floor and they didn't think we would notice, OR... they are brilliant and wanting us going bonkers over these details.

Oh - DH keeps saying that Lori's remains may not have been in sight and were maybe just around that corner. Rick saw them, we didn't. He says that would be just too gruesome for a character that we knew so well. I don't know. I just don't like it.

(it's a fancy name for a) collection of comic books.
i usually try to buy the hard cover graphic novels.
but if i like the characters, i'll go with the paper covers.

i always watch Talking Dead but there are some peeps that don't care for it.

i have read some of the comics.

the tv show does not follow the graphic novel completely.
characters and events are sometimes different on the show.

for example, in the comics, Herschal was the one bitten by the walker, not Dale.

BTW there is a HUGE compendium available for $33.99 at Amazon. It's a fantastic deal and it takes you up through the prison arc. I just noticed the second compendium is out too. :thumbsup2

One other thing the director said on TD was that there was a scene with Maggie and Daryl. Maggie told Daryl about the Lori ordeal, and Daryl opened up about how he felt about Carol. Unfortunately it did not make the episode.

Is that the actual comics compiled?

I feel like Carol definitely has to be alive. There was the scene with T-Dog saying the only reason he kept going with her because he felt like it was his destiny to save her no matter what it took. Personally I hope the writers didn't just have him say this and then have him die in for nothing (though he would have anyway.)

The one thing I'm certain of is that if they kill Daryl I don't think I'd be able to watch anymore :lmao:

On one of the other forums, I believe there was a picture of the three graves when Daryl was leaving the rose for Carol. If I am not mistaken, I want to say one of the graves was not filled in...there was still loose dirt and a hole. I could be mistaken, but I think this was the case. I still have a problem with the graves because, as I said before, why would you dig a deep hole for the little remains they had of T-Dog (and, in Carol's case, NO remains). Just doesn't make sense. I think it would have been a much better scene to see the group mourning over the graves, rather than Glenn digging holes. But, that is just my take on it and it's not like The Walking Dead is beating down my door to write scripts for them...:rotfl2:

Also, there are new writers this season, I think. Frank Darabont was the showrunner until sometime last year when he was dismissed. So, a lot of people on are saying that his dismissal could be the cause for some of the plot holes.

As for the body of Lori, I just can't fathom why they would think it was "too much". We saw Dale in the middle of the field with his stomach open, we saw Lori being cut open and Maggie digging around her stomach and lest us not forget the kid zombie that Rick took out in the first season. Or, the time Rick and Glenn (I'm pretty sure it was Glenn) walked through a mass of zombies covered in intestines and blood to hide their scent? And, they let us see Rick kill poor Sophia. And, now they don't want to show us a body? Either they are setting us up for major plot twist, or it was just a huge plot hole that people are having trouble swallowing (pun intended).

And, to me, this would have been a far better scene then seeing Glenn digging some holes.

Is it possible they dug the graves so deep so the other walkers couldn't get to them somehow? (A stretch I know).
Although I do think it was a therapeutic thing.

Is it possible that T-Dog was torn apart enough that they thought that the remains could have been both him AND Carol? I'm sure one person's intestines look pretty much like another's  and there may even be some extra limbs/body parts lying around from the zombies.

Ding, ding, ding! I bet we have a winner! I am sure they did think she was part of that mess since her scarf was in the middle of it.

Yes it is. It looks like buying both compendiums will get you almost up to current day in the comics. Plus you'll have a huge set of doorstops. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: These books are really BIG.

Lori's body being all chomped up and in the walker's, or biter's, tummy has me kerfuffled too.

I have 4 labs. (A greyhound too but really, she thinks she's a princess.) When it comes to bones - rabbits? No problem. Cow thigh bones from the butcher? It takes even our greediest lab all day to finish it. They're teeth are made for chewing and tearing and biting. Humans? Not to the degree you would need to finish off an entire body.

Maybe there's more to the story they haven't shared yet. Or, maybe they're hoping we don't analyze it to this degree. :confused3

How long of dead is too dead for a walker to eat someone, on this show? The walkers don't eat each other but if everybody is already infected then how do the walkers know to think, "Ew, no that's bad there" or, "Hey we can't him, he's one of us."

Just thinking outloud. I really enjoy the show but this episode has me going :confused3 more than usual. Plot holes? A super secret storyline with a major plot twist?

Okay, this makes some sense. I can buy that.

 Ya know, I didn't think of this but I'll bet you're right!

I guess. Especially since now we know (from Lori's experience) that the walkers can completely devour clothing, bones, even an entire skull.

That's a really good point. It makes sense that they didn't look for her beyond the scarf and the .

I was watching some of season 2 last night, and after they spent so much time, effort, and hope looking for Sophia only to find her walker-fied they very quickly wrote the missing Andrea off. Maybe it was the unidentifiable pile of remains plus this new "we don't bother with missing people" policy that has led to Carol's assumed dead status?
