The Walking Dead on AMC

Finally got caught up with the last two weeks episodes AND the season finale last night. YES they are bringing Michonne into the TV series. She is one of my more favorite characters from the Comic Books. And I loved how they stayed true on the show to the two walkers she had chained with her (in a series that is truly dark - especially the comic book side - I always found a bit of humor in the walkers she has with her when you first meet her and even the "story" behind them).

I have to say I wasn't so sure about the TV series this season 2 as it started off sooooooo sloooooowwww - but it really picked up and seemed to meet the speed of the comic book. I do like how they showed the picture of the prison in the background - I was hoping they wouldn't skip that portion of the next "background".

Kudos for the TV series to definetly bringing in Michonne!!!

I have to say those walkers behind her did cause me to find some humor in them. Maybe their lack of intimidation was the fact they had no arms or ability to bite. They seemed so obedient or maybe as if they had their brain removed. I compared them to dogs, complete with chain. I don't read the comics. I will wait until the tv series is finished to avoid accidentally reading a spoiler, but I am excited and hopeful that they do incorporate her minion walkers' history into the series. I can only imagine. I wonder if Michonne's cloak (thickness, odor, etc) could have something to do with her being undetected by the walkers. No, I don't want spoilers. Just throwing that out there as an idea.

They really need to start sharing more flashbacks of what happened when all chaos broke loose. The webisodes was a good sneak peek, but everyone on the show has a history that we don't really know about (besides Shane, Lori and Rick). That alone could stretch a season. Maybe after more character development that would be a better time for flashbacks.

Talking Dead last night asked the question about whether we would see 3 characters in the next season. Those 3 were Merle, and that man and his son from season 1 episode 1. The man answering the question said there is 100% chance that 33% of those people will be in season 3. So, unless the son died, I would guess we will see Merle next season. Can you imagine how Merle would react to Daryl's softer side?

When I heard that on The Walking Dead last night, I too think that Merle will be the character to reappear.

OMG I have been hoping and waiting for Merle to come back!!!!

Apparently, Michael Rooker has said that he'll be back for Season 3, so I'm betting on the return of Merle next year. :thumbsup2

I have to imagine that's one reason why T-Dog wasn't killed off this season...that's going to be one ugly episode when those two meet up again. :scared1:

I think Carl acted the way he did because of the stress he is under at such a young age with all that happened at the farm accompanied by his father being so angry it just set him off crying. Heck his anger would have set me off as an adult after that situation.

Exactly. I'm in my thirties and I remember how stressed and frustrated I was being evacuated from my apartment for almost two weeks after Hurricane Irene last year...I can't imagine what a 12-year-old must going through living through something like that, with no end in sight and things only getting worse.

Carl has done some dumb things, but I didn't blame him at all for breaking down the way he did. He's still just a little boy.

I have been fussing all season that T-Dog has had no lines. Maybe this will be the new confrontation now that they got rid of the love triangle. They need to put Lori in a cage and tape her mouth shut. Better yet, make her one of those miserable pregnant women with swollen feet, raging hemorrhoids, and 48 hour labor. Speaking of which, I wonder if they are going to sneak in a pregnancy advancement between seasons? Will Andrea find herself pregnant with Shane's baby? More to ponder.

Please do...Lori is an awful character and i dont think shes a good actress...even when she was on Prison break.

I don't like the TV character/actress that much. In the books she is no where near the annoying character she is on the series.

Don't know if this was mentioned or not(didn't read all the posts. TL;DR and all that lol) but if they are all infected does that mean that Lori's baby is going to be born a walker?

And am I the only one thats surprised that Hershel lived? I thought he was going to go down with his farm. Like the captain of the titanic or something.

Again sorry if this has been mentioned before.

People only reanimate after they have been "dead" as we know the term to be today. The baby is alive. Now - the question is this - what if the baby dies in the womb - does it become a walker at that point???

There is speculation that her baby will be immune to the virus. of course, more drama if she gives birth to a little zombie.

Yes, I am surprised Hershel survived. He seemed so focused on the walkers and protecting his farm that he appeared to be zoned out from everything everyone was saying to him.

My son brought up a good point. On the Talking Dead last night they spoke about the temperature during the scenes in this episode being shot in extreme temperatures (something like 27 degrees). Of course, when it is that cold, you can see the breath when people exhale. They had to remove this from the scenes, because it was explained that walkers don't breathe. However, my son asked me how they were making moaning sounds if they can't breathe, since it takes air movement to make sound.

That seems to make sense. Although I thought there was a chance that she may have miscarried after she got in the car crash a couple weeks ago. But they never mentioned it.

OK, now that is a far nastier thought than thinking back on what happened to Dale.

That reminds me of the pregnant woman in the Dawn of the Dead remake a few years ago. Granted, the mother had been bitten and turned before she gave birth...but she still had a zombie baby. :scared1:
