The Walking Dead on AMC

The way Mika was telling her to look at the flowers like she's supposed to made it seem to me that she had had issues beforehand.

I got the feeling that Lizzie was always that way, especially when they went into the coping mechanism (concentrate on the flowers). She was born a sociopath. I don't think trauma caused her to act the way she did, that was just her. Which is also why she was so dangerous…now and for the future.

"That looks exactly like a baby," said no viewer EVER. :lmao:

I know, I know...but Judith showed up later, so she had to be SOMEWHERE...and the lumpy sack on Tyreese's back was my best guess :rotfl2:

You'd think they would find a jogging stroller or something by now...to go along with the clean clothes, diapers and formula that magically appear?

:wave2: I noticed Judith being carried by Tyrese right away.

Me too. I kept reading comments from people asking if they'd left her behind. Why on earth would they have left her behind?? I can't believe anyone thought that.

I'm always surprised she has a crib to sleep in pretty much everywhere they end up. You know because they always choose a house with a nursery or they end up carrying furniture through a neighborhood.

'Walking Dead': Family friendly version on the way
(EW.com) -- Ever wonder what AMC's ultra-violent hit "The Walking Dead" would be like if it was edited for a broadcast network instead?

Fox-owned syndication channel MyNetworkTV has picked up the exclusive broadcast rights to re-air the zombie drama.

Starting this fall, MyNet will run two episodes a week, edited for broadcast standards, from seasons of the show that have previously aired on AMC. Though not one of the popular Big 4 networks, MyNet reaches 97 percent of the country and is likewise categorized as a broadcast channel mostly airing repeats of shows like "Monk," "House" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

'Sleepy Hollow' at PaleyFest: Five things we learned about season 2

"It's not often you get to add the hottest show on the planet to your lineup," said Frank Cicha of the Fox Television Stations. "We just did, and it's a tremendous get for our stations."

"The Walking Dead" could have ended up on broadcast (it was famously rejected by NBC). And while we will never know what creative changes broadcast executives might have demanded of comic creator Robert Kirkman during a traditional network development process, we will get to find out what AMC's version will look like when edited for a more family friendly audience.

MyNet confirms "The Walking Dead" on MyNet will be edited to meet broadcast content standards and will carry a TV-14 rating.

"The Walking Dead" launched on AMC with a TV-14 rating in 2010 and grew to become TV's top-rated drama among adults 18-49. But after protest from parents group the Parents Television Council claiming that rating was far too lenient for the show's graphic content, AMC switched "TWD" rating last year to the stricter TV-MA.

I don't see this being very popular if they cut out so much of the graphic content and mature scenes. I mean, what would they do about last week's episode? they'd have to cut out so much and only be left with a 5 minute episode :confused3

Wow, I can't believe that it was rated TV-14 to start with. But then again, times have changed. I was a bit worried about my dd (almost 16) watching it but she is not fazed by it at all (she said she had seen worse and my question was...where!!). :rolleyes1 She is just as interested in how they make the show (special effects, etc) as the story line.

Even my DS (who wandered into the room while dd was watching) wasn't bothered by it. I was worried it would give him nightmares or something, but instead he just said "oh...cool" :scared1:
But I still kicked him out of that room. Sorry bud, cool or not, you don't need to be watching that.

But I agree...how do you make that show more family friendly without cutting out 1/2 of it?? :confused3

My dd was telling me it was going to be rebroadcast on network television also. I just can't imagine. What is the point? You are going to lose so much of the power of the show by editing it. Gore aside, the emotional portions are very adult and intense, not to mention the language and some of the sexual situations (although I think the soaps are just as bad these days).

I can't imagine the show being the same with all the editing they will have to do. It is going to lose to much.

Reminds me of when they did The Sopranos.

That just made me think of this...

Yup. And people will watch the cut version and wonder "why was this so popular?".

Exactly! What's the point? If someone can't sit through the original version, then this show probably just isn't for them. I know people who don't watch it because of the gore, but I don't see them watching a toned-down version. They're just not interested.

I don't know that all that much would have to be cut. Sitting here watching Hannibal right now on NBC, and it has some pretty gory, disturbing scenes. (It's also boring as hell, but that's another thread!) TWD has a lot more of them, of course, but I think if they cut a second or two from the walker killings, they'd be no worse than other things on broadcast tv right now. Someone mentioned sex, but the few sex scenes they've had have been pretty tame compared to a lot of shows.

Something isn't quite right about Terminus! What exactly is on that grill, Tasha Yar?

Yeah, as soon as I saw her boiling something it gave me the creeps!!!

Her back turned as she's "cooking" something and that is a huge grill! Not feeling good about it at all, it is just waaaay too perfect....

The number of commercials was beyond ridiculous! There was more commercial time than actual TWD time
