The Walking Dead on AMC

I agree too. What was the point of them going into the country club house? They could've cut that out entirely.

I think they needed it for a change of scenery for the episode. Plus a little more action than just walkers in the woods. And it did make a better lead into the house in the woods ("your first drink can't be peach schnapps" LOL).

It played into the contrasts of the episode. Country Club vs. shack in the woods. Even the clothing fit that (no place for a little white cardigan in the zombie apocalypse).

I wish they would stop with many of these random "celebrities" on Talking Dead. Marilyn Manson going off on his tangents, Mindy Kaling adding nothing whatsoever to the discussion, and that comedian last night being so annoying. Two main cast members on the show and we have to deal with that guy not knowing when to shut up? I actually said "you've got to be kidding me" out loud at one point. Chris Jericho is one of the few celebrity guests I can remember recently that I enjoyed. I don't follow professional wrestling, but he was very eloquent and seemed to realize it wasn't about him.

HA! I liked that wrester too on TD! He was so interesting and sooooooo into the show, but not obnoxious about it.

The guy last night was trying to be funny at some points but his jokes fell a little flat. When he was babbling about female zombies I had no idea where he was going with that. I agree that they had two huge stars of the show, so no need for a third guest.

Yes, that comedian was so annoying last night that I actually found boring acceptance speeches by technical Oscar winners to be more palatable.

And yeah, no big revelation with Daryl. Based on the story he told about how he went off in the woods and made his way and no one noticed he was gone, I figured he was a hick who was used to taking care of himself and did nothing but look up to his loser brother and get himself in a bunch of trouble. What did people think he was? A boy scout troop leader?

I just saw this mentioned on another forum and thought I'd mention it here. You know how the preview for the next episode shows Maggie, Sasha and Bob surrounded by fog and being attacked by walkers? What if it's not fog but smoke from the house that Beth and Daryl set on fire? Wouldn't that be interesting?!:scratchin

I enjoyed last nights episode. They are showing more depth of the characters like they did with Michonne. Loved that they burned the cabin -and gave it the finger! It was cleansing and now in the past. I also think Daryl is living a 2nd chance in this new life. His first one sounds like it really sucked. He adds so much to the show I hope he sticks around for a long time.

One thing that last nights episode made me think about is that we haven't lost a main character in a long while - I think we will next week.

In the scenes for next week, I really don't think it's fire, otherwise they would be coughing and hacking and their eyes would be burning. They were all calm and focused. I burned dinner in the oven the other night, actually started a small fire that was quickly extinguished, and I was coughing like I smoked 8 packs of cigarettes!

Is there a rumor of a major character death this season? I keep hearing rumblings about it. Is it supposed to happen next week?

Herschel was a major character who died this season, couldn't that be the one everyone keeps mentioning?

I know we had the long break but this is all 1 season.

Guess I'm the only one disappointed there was no Daryl Beth hook up lol.

LOL DBF asked if I thought they were going to hook up, I said "ewwww no, she's way too young." So we kind of did a timeline based on Judith (Little *** Kicker) and we figure that Beth is probably about 18 now so she's feeling her oats. lol I was really glad they didn't hook up and hope like heck that they don't because that would just bug me.
I liked the episode, I thought it was a good one. I always wonder why they don't take more clothes when they find them though, Beth could have taken a couple more shirts and they wouldn't have been hard to carry. lol

I did briefly wonder that but I don't know......I'll just wait and see next week. :) I would love them to find each other, just like I want the Carol/Tyreese and Rick/Michonne groups to find each other.

We just lost Herschel, can't we wait for a while......

I agree with you - but no - that is not what this show is about. My opinion, we will have another main character - didn't say major.

There are a few I don't even know well like tara, lizzie, her sister - the dude that is an alcoholic - (roy?) hmmm maybe even Tyrese. I'm just speculating. Maybe even Sasha.

I think we will see another main (minor?) character die.

I wish that Beth and Daryl would have waited until daylight to burn the house. The house was some protection from the walkers. Now they are out in the dark, BUZZED :drinking1:drinking1

I too think that another character will die. Still thinking Maggie or Glenn. I hope I'm wrong, I hope I'm wrong, I hope I'm wrong:sad::sad::sad:

Last night's episode was OK. I didn't hate it, didn't love it.

But I think there was foreshadowing of Beth dying. Her whole speech about how he'll miss her when she's gone and how he'll be the last man standing... reminded me too much of Hershel's speech.

Total speculation, of course.

And if they hook up... :scared: She's just a kid! Norman Reedus is my age, Beth is my daughter's age! :faint:

You could be right about them setting up Beth to die. I remember the guy who played Herschel said he knew it was over for him when he read the script with the speech about doing your part and trying even when the odds are against you. He said when you step outside you risk your life, you take a drink of water you risk your life, you just have to choose what you risk it for (it was when Maggie was trying to prevent him from going into the "sick" area to care for the ones with that swine flu.)

I was saying that took barricade yourself inside and sleep, then burn it! When was the last time they slept??

Next weeks celebrity I am actually super excited for on the Talking Dead! I love Dominic Monaghan!

Decent episode. It was interesting that Daryl was the one to have the breakdown, when you really just expect Beth to be the one to fall apart. And it was nice to see Beth get some more development. She basically admitted she knew she was walker bait, but it looks like she's trying to find her place (hopefully not so much with the booze, but that made sense for a kid her age too), and maybe even carry on that moral center her father was.

Burning down the house reminded me a little of Forrest Gump bulldozing Jenny's father's house. "Sometimes there just aren't enough rocks."

I'm amazed she didn't sing. :rotfl:

I'm anxious to get the group back together and see where this is going now, though.
