The walking dead amc #2

Okay, here is a problem I have. Negan seemed sad, said to Rick after hearing about Carl's death something along the lines of, Darn, that kid was the future. I had plans for him.
Now, lets go back a few episodes. Was this not the same Negan that was about to bash Carl's skull in right in front of his father, if not for the tiger attack?

Wasn’t that before they “bonded” at sanctuary... or not?? Even though it was 5min ago on the show, I feel like it’s been 2 years, so I don’t remember for sure!!

“All of this could have been a really fun action segment with great tension and fights, but the weird writing keeps holding it back.
...
It's so infuriating to see this show make its lead character so incompetent when he very clearly isn't.
...
Oh, and weed out the bad writers, producers and directors while you're at it. The Walking Dead is in terrible shape. It needs to make drastic changes if it wants to survive.” ::yes::

And she likes to paint in the nude. We also know that. Lol.

Your last paragraph is so true, though. Why is that? (You're not obligated to answer unless you want to, I'm just musing aloud now.) Less screen time for the characters so we don't get to know them as well? Waning attention span as a viewer after however many seasons we're up to at this point? The new characters are getting more and more eccentric to the point they're unrelatable, so we don't get invested in their outcome?

It's probably a combination of all those things, plus more, but I know the last one is a big one for me. I was much more into this story when it was "smaller" and based on a premise I could kinda sorta picture myself in: The city's overrun with zombies, what do you do, where do you go, how are you going to survive? But now they live in a world with fake kings, and tigers, and trash people.... and it's just too far-fetched to put myself into the story anymore.
How could I forget about the :artist:?!

From your list, I'd say all of the above, except "Waning attention span as a viewer after however many seasons we're up to at this point". If it was just as good as in the first couple of seasons, we'd be just as jazzed at our house!

But yeah -- fewer characters who we can really connect with -- really see this world through their eyes. Coupled with them turning our heroes into morons with stormtrooper aim. Not cool.

When the car chase started I literally turned to Dh and yelled WTH??? Now it's the dang French Connection?? Who is writing this show? Nothing makes any sense! We have long since jumped the shard.

Jumped the shard...is this some sort of pun about Jadis and her people??? :rotfl2:

Preview during first commercial break...which will happen NEVER. Also - underhanded stupid trick by AMC (at least on my comcast DVR) as it showed The Walking Dead as 2 hours long, basically forcing us to record "The Terror". I can decide for myself if I want to watch a new show, thank you very much.

Hey...I have an idea... Let's bring back a character (apparently named "Tobin") who I don't recall seeing for a LONG time...oh and let's have him grow a beard...and then try to briefly rekindle a relationship with Carol that I don't recall happening in the first place. Am I supposed to care now that he died...because you never developed his storyline enough to make me care...

They have had sex so it was kinda developed and then she left.

haha - and that's the problem. I didn't even remember that :confused3 Obviously just one minor example of a lot of people's comments recently about the lack of character development. I yearn for the days of the farm and governor episodes, lol!

I otherwise didn't mind tonight's episode, although I wish it had some Negan in it. I do like Negan, haha!

You not recalling the development doesn't mean it didn't happen. That is lack of paying attention to certain aspects of the show. I wasn't sad about his death but I am almost never Dr given the chance as all the good ones happen too fast to cry about. Instead I'm just pisse d off lol.

Sorry I agree with the pp. I did vaguely remember the guy, but you shouldn’t haven’t to study the show to remember characters. The story line was way under developed.

I certainly pay attention - it's just that details lately aren't triggering my memories. I respect a difference of opinion but my opinion is that the lack of character development, unrealistic plot twists and poor writing/unmemorable storylines is a problem. I don't really remember who Tobin is, nor care that he died. I barely remembered the stupid kid's brother and that whole scene - and yet apparently Gimple (or somebody) thinks these events imprinted on our minds...I'm sure I (or others) can bring up countless other examples.

And once again here we are on Talking Dead with Alanna reminding us that while it's been multiple seasons that time is moving slower and Judith is the biggest freaking 1 year old I've ever seen in my life...Gah. Yet I still like the show and won't give it up haha, I'm here until the end.

We beary saw Morgan yet we all recalled bim... Just saying just because you don't remember doesn't mean that no one does.

You guys familiar with those Bad Lip Reading videos where they dub over the original soundtrack with a bunch of funny and/or nonsensical gibberish? Well, lately some of the scenes in TWD have looked like they were made for one of those videos -- typically when the scene is really serious and the characters are doing all their best emoting but I just can't take it seriously anymore -- so my DH and I have made a game out of making our own snarky, jokey, or stupid comments a la Bad Lip Reading while we watch the show. Then in tonight's episode Rick was being all broody about something when Michonne walked into the scene and said "I saved you this turnip" and won the game. :rotfl2:
