The walking dead amc #2

I need to find a more relaxing show to watch on Sunday nights...LOL!

I'm so tense right now!

I'm going to have to go back and rewatch it. I honestly was so nervous throughout the entire episode, I wasn't concentrating completely.

Lots of little nuggets (cookie on Sam's grave, Abraham's break up, Carol getting some lovin', first human kill for folks, etc). I too think it's reckless to go on this mission but I suppose they just don't realize what they are in for. Can't believe Father Gabriel had to kill...sad.

Didn't seem to bother Gabriel much.

He was actually starting to be kinda badd-a$$ last night... I must confess I liked him quoting scripture before taking out the saviour

Next week will all about how Maggie and Carol get captured, got to draw this story line out as long as possible.

Carol is definitely changing. She doesn't want to kill anymore, at least, not like this. It's starting to eat away at her. She calculated 18 so far. She even lied to Rick, so she could stay behind with Maggie and not have to kill anyone.

Nice to see her get a bit of lovin though!!!

Gabriel has really turned over a new leaf. Nice to see him step up. I guess I am starting to warm up to him a bit.

Did not like how Abe handled his break up with Rosita. That was so wrong. Things are going great, heck, just that morning (or so) he said she was "damn near perfect" and then he just packs up and says "I'm leaving"? That was not right to drop it on her like that. I felt so bad for her.

So, how may of Negan's people are left?

Why do you think Carol lied to Rick? I thought she wanted to protect Maggie because of the pregnancy.

I commented to my husband that Gabriel the Priest handled his first kill a lot more stoically than did Glenn.

Abraham's line to Rosita was so awful I actually laughed out loud. "I thought you were the last woman on earth. You're not." I mean... that's just low. And then he was the one that was so busy watching Sasha that he didn't notice the dude behind him until it was too late.

I liked Tara's throwback line to the governor... because that's exactly what they were doing.

What was Morgan making?

I keep thinking why do they have to go to Negan's place, they know they exist, they can just keep an eye out for them. I get Rick's point, but to just go in and kill people just in case they find you seems over the top to me.

I thought the same thing. It seems reckless to send all the best fighters to take out Negan.

I think it's because they don't realize yet how nasty Negan is. I think they feel like they can handle it easily. Also, they want to trade with the hilltop people and have them as allies. If they take care of Negan, they get food & medicine. I think that is the driving force.

The deal they stuck with Hilltop was that if they took out the Saviors (Negan's group), then Hilltop would give them food. I think Maggie proposed half of their food supply going forward. Since the Alexandria group doesn't have much to offer in a trade, their part is taking out the Saviors who are causing Hilltop fear and harm. Taking out the Saviors also benefits Alexandria, in addition to Hilltop, since they know from their run-in with Abe, Sasha and Daryl that the Saviors are bad news.

During the exchange with Rosita and Carol near the woods - what was the thing with Denise about? Carol said something about not telling them about Denise but I couldn't recall what she was referring to. Was it just that Denise helped the Wolf?

I agree that I think Carol felt the need to protect Maggie, which was also evident when Carol and Maggie were outside and she tried to prevent Maggie from going in when the fire alarm was pulled. While it may have been because she didn't want to kill anymore, I'd agree it was mostly to protect Maggie.

They way I was reading her, in the beginning of the show, she was not wanting to kill anymore, she was feeling guilty. Adding up the number of people she had killed, which totaled 18. Not sure if Morgan was getting to her with all his talk, or what it was, but she didn't seem like the old Carol. The old Carol would have jumped in and led the charge.

She seemed reluctant and sad about having to be involved in this plan. It seemed like she was using Maggie as an excuse to stay behind so that she would have to be involved in the killing.

Was anyone else reading her that way or was it just me?

She was referring to Morgan's Role in the wolf getting out and kidnapping Denise. Carol told them all to keep quiet about it and they did. Rosita though was having second thoughts. It appears she doesn't trust Morgan and was thinking about telling Rick what really happened.

Anyone else getting the feeling that Denise's days are numbered?

I think it was all they had to offer Hilltop in exchange for food and supplies. And they know these people are extremely dangerous after the encounter with Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham and what they did at Hilltop. Mind you they are also making this decision after what happened with the Wolves so given that mindset I get it.

It is crazy what a physical response I have to watching this show. My whole body was cringing the entire time waiting for something bad to happen. It's definitely not a relaxing evening, lol.

  1. Abraham's comment to Rosita "I thought you were the last woman on Earth" was wrong. Felt bad for her, like he was only with her because she was the only option.

My comment when he said that was "that's so cold." My DH's comment when he said that was "I wonder if he expects to die and thought it would be easier if Rosita hated him instead of being sad."

Now that I look back at it, I wonder if it was to make it a quick and clean break. No talking about why or getting back together, etc. Just done and over with. I still think it was harsh though :(
