The WALDORF ASTORIA ORLANDO and HILTON BONNET CREEK Information Thread

We just got back from 2 nights at the Hilton. We really loved this resort. The pool area was gorgeous. My girls loved the slide and lazy river. The employees were all friendly and the service was wonderful at the pool. The pool was huge and not crowded at all. We will definitely return.

We definitely agree with you. Would you mind sharing what your rate per night/accomodations were?

Several people have recommended B&B at Hilton Bonnet Creek, however most travel agents only offer room only.
Do you know of any UK internet/travel companies that offer hotel only bookings with breakfast included at this hotel?
Thanks in advance

I just saw a B&B rate on their site--it was a summer family special, I think?
Looks like a fab place!

Sorry I should have explained that we are not going until August 2011.
We have been quoted £70 per room per night with a UK agent, which seems excellent however ideally wanted breakfast included.

I'll be going in October for a conference for work. I am excited because it seems like a great resort and my mom is going to fly down from NJ and meet me. I have a question, though. It says they have toiletries from Crabtree and Evelyn, so what do they have? If I can avoid bringing shampoo and shower gel, that would be great. I also wanted to know if they have an iron in each room.

Thanks - Diane

We are looking at staying at the Hilton BC this fall. We have friends in the area and were wondering if they would be able to come over by us for the day and sit by the pool with us? I know some resorts give you a bracelet to wear to show you are a guest. Does the Hilton BC do the same?

Thanks

Yes, they have shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, and mouthwash and shower gel/soap.

Not 100% sure about the iron but I think that they do if my memory serves me correctly.

No one was checking anything at the gates to the pool so I do not think you would have a problem. They did not even check room keys to give out towels which was nice so you could take as many as you needed/wanted.

We are thinking about booking either Hilton or Waldorf for next June. Does anyone know how what if any are the perks for HHonors at this hotel? I saw on another response a few pages back someone used Delta points? They are only showing rack rates for my dates, but just wondering what I can get with points.
Thank you-

No perks at either hotel unless you are Gold or Diamond status.

At Waldorf, Gold/Diamond might get an upgrade from a standard view to a Disney view room. Upgrade to a suite is unlikely. No free breakfast.

At HBC, Gold/Diamond might get an upgrade from a standard view to a Disney view room. Upgrade to a suite is possible, but unlikely. Also, Gold/Diamond likely get vouchers for two continental breakfasts daily, with a $6 upgrade option to full hot breakfast.

Quick question -- I'm a WDW veteran helping a newbie plan a trip during xmas vacation. She is staying at the WA.

1) Do they have EMH? (post one wasn't clear on this one)

2) Any transportation advice I should give her?

TIA!!! :goodvibes

They do not have EMH. They do have very nice motor coach transpertation but they pick up at the Hilton first and there were a couple of times it was full by the time they got to the Waldorf. They have a schedule that they really stick to so tell her to get a schedule of times from the front desk and use it to find out when it runs. There were a couple of times we just used the town car service which was expensive, but easy and fast. One night we werent on its schedule so we took the boat to the WL and took a cab back.

We tried the bus too back in November right after the Waldorf opened. Not many guests at all so a full bus was not the issue. The problem we found is that the bus ride was very long even from the studios which is only 5 minutes away because in addition to the Hilton, the bus stopped at another park.. And the trip back from AK, it was ridiculous as we al stopped at the MK.
We had a car and were paying the $20 per day for parking anyway.

To stay at as nice of a place as the Waldorf it just felt right to take the car and pay the parking and the tips for the valet (we were only there for 4 days so it did not bank the bank). It was very easy to get out of the elevators and have the car so quickly. There were many parking attendants and at least back in November no wait to get the car.

We have an annual pass though so parking at the WDW parks is free for us. We also have the TIW card and used the free valet when we had reservations at signature restaurants.

It was a good fit for us, as was the king suite we booked with the great Travelzoo deal at the time.

I loved the calmness of the Waldorf pool area.

Thanks so much for the quick replies -- you have been SO helpful! I'll tell my friend to just avoid the EMH parks since they don't have early entry, and pass on the bus schedule, too. :goodvibes

Hi all! What an informative thread! My DH and I will have the pleasure of experiencing this beautiful hotel in two weeks for an adult only getaway! Can someone please tell me if the Disney view rooms at the WA are a mix of deluxe rooms and suites? Or are all view rooms suites? Thanks for any info!

Our Disney view room was a suite, and it was amazing. There are rooms that have large windows that would be disney view but I am not sure that any of them had a balcony. We could sit on our balcony and see three parks and their fireworks, it was a wonderful view.

I agree, I loved my balcony in my king suite, and it wasn't even park view. It was just nice, upscale chairs, liked the door with the shade rather than a sliding glass door.

Are there any discounts available for November 19-24? Or where may I find them? Thanks so much!
