Just woke up a half-hour ago with a pounding migraine.. :( I'm pretty sure it's the weather that triggered it due to a strange pattern we have moving through here.. Cold, windy, and drizzly yesterday - rain and temperature RISING all night - then it's supposed to drop down again later today..

The weather induced migraines are the worst - none of the meds seem to work on them.. Anyone else having a barometric migraine today?

No, but my mum has. It is either the weather or eating certain foods after 8pm.

{{{hugs}}}

I hope you feel better soon.

No migraine here today but I do get weather related ones so I can related. Have sick son, 102 fever, cough. Now have him wrapped in blankets on the couch watching cartoons - hence why I am on the boards at this hour.

Hope you feel better.

a good sneeze just cleared my head. Head for the shower, steam will give temporary relief, hot water on the back of your neck may give some help.

Good Luck, my husband takes Zomig for his and it does help him a lot. Sorry I couldn't send you one in cyber space.

Oh I feel so for you C Ann.
I had one yesterday and the day before. Imitrex for me! Today is better, but the pressure here has stabilized.
Hope you are better soon. Do you have meds for them?

Cathy

I did last Thursday night at work. I never thought of attributing it to the weather, but we had a huge front push through that night with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Definitely something to look into. The sucky part was I was working, and could only take non-narcotic meds. I ended up getting shots for nausea, though. It's now Saturday am, and I still feel a little nagging pain...

There's nothing worse than waking up with a migraine. I'm pain-free today though!

The ONLY thing that works for me is staying in bed and trying to sleep through the pain.

you poor thing :(

yep. i've got one. hence the small whispering typing. just took some meds and going back to bed with my earplugs and a cool bathcloth over my eyes. not a fun way to start the weekend.

Oh, C.Ann, I feel your pain. I hope you've got Imitrex or Abreva to help you through. Is staying in bed until it goes away an option? Sleeping it off (since Imitrex makes me really sleepy and loopy anyway) usually works for me.

Hope you feel better soon.

I have Axert (can't use the other migraine meds) but it never works on the weather-related migraines.. I took 2 Aleve and went back to bed for awhile.. Right now it's just kind of "lingering" there so I'm trying not to move around too much..

I also have Fioricet - but only 4 pills left - so I'm saving them in case it gets really bad later on.. My neuro will only prescribe 30 pills for three months, so I have to use them sparingly..

Hope everyone else is feeling a bit better now too!

I didn't have a migraine this morning, but I can definitely feel your pain, C.Ann; waking up with them is the absolute worse. Hope you are feeling better soon!

I had a migraine yesterday. It's almost gone now, but I still have a stiff neck. I just started getting migraines. I take Imitrex. When the migraine is really bad, I get two injections..one for Imitrex and the other for Toradol. I can function in about 2.5 hours after the last shot.

Here's to hoping we all feel better soon and may it be a long time before we get another one!!

Oh my :(

I suffered migraines for years, so I feel your pain and know exactally how you feel. Mine, which always lasted for 3 days, only left after the vomiting.

My long list of drs. included MD's, neuros, chiros and alternative drs. trying every therapy and medication known to medical field w/no relief in sight. At last resort my dr. decided to put me on a small daily dose of inexpensive blood pressure med "Atenolol". I did not have high BP, but it was an experiment that showed promise in others and I was willing to try anything!!!!!!

That was about 3 yrs ago. AMEN, thankfully it is the first med to work for me!! Now if I do get a headache, which is seldom, it is very short lived. Works for me!! Best wishes CA ...feel better soon and hang in there.

 Sandie

Not today, but I had one yesterday. I blame mine on hormones, which never seem to settle down as I near the big 4-0.

I woke up with one on Thursday and I think it was because of the weather...we had clear and sunny/nice weather early in the week and a storm pushed in on Wednesday...plus I didn't get good sleep. A shot of imitrex later and I was fine.
