The waitlist is not all done by the system automatically?!!!

I called MS today to check on several waitlist that I have. I was told that the waitlist is still active.

However, I then asked about the availability of the resorts for the dates that I am waitlisting. I was told, for one of them, they have 3 out of the 4 nights that I was wailisting for. She said that maybe these rooms have not been cycled through the waitlist by the people who handle the waitlist, that was why they did not come through for me. She put me on hold and said that she would go ahead and cycle these rooms. Sure enough, she came back and told me that I got my room for those 3 nights.

In another instance, there was a room readily available even though I had a active waitlist for that night. She could not explain why the room was not going throught the waitlist at all, since it was not even indicated that it needs to be cycled through the waitlist.

I now are getting skeptical as far as exactly how the auto waitlist really works. Does that mean you need to call periodically to verify the availability even though you are on a waitlist for auto confirm? It seems that the waitlist system does not work perfectly that people can actually get ahead of you for making a later reservation and get the room while you have been on the waitlist for the same room by making the ressie earlier.

I think we discussed this lately and the concensus was that the automatic waitlist doesn't go through until the late afternoon. So if someone asks for a certain date, a CM might give it to them even though you are next on the waitlist. We hope this doesn't happen often but who knows for sure?
