The waiting game

It seems like due to the large volume of activity for DVC contracts everyone out here is playing the "waiting game". Waiting for ROFR...waiting for closing docs...waiting for closing...waiting for points to be added so we can all make our reservations before points expire....

I was supposed to close on a BWV contract today, but the sellers documents are not in yet, so closing is delayed. Not a catastrophe, but still disappointing....

Waiting on closing documents from Fidelity for a small OKW contract that passed ROFR 3 weeks ago. I know that there are a few threads about this with others, so I won't even go there. But as soon as my my BWV contract is closed I will definitely be shifting my focus there....

The last thing I am waiting for is my closing funds on my SSR contract which is scheduled for 4/22. This one is "my fault", because I have a vacation scheduled for the beginning of that week and I can't close until it is over.

And finally of course I am waiting to step off the plane in Orlando on 4/18, but that one I don't mind waiting for.

I agree, the waiting game is loooong and filled with hiccups. For our first resale contract, I think it was three months from start to finish, and I couldn't wait to book our Thanksgiving trip using our own points. We had to do a split stay because all the nights were wanted at BCV were no longer available.

Now we are buying another resale contract. Charged the deposit at the end of January, but it didn't go to ROFR until mid February and didn't pass until the third week of March (more than 30 days). As soon as it passed, we got the closing docs, but I had to move money, get a cashiers check, and send it off, which took three days. As far as I know, the deed was sent off to recording last Wednesday or Thursday. Not sure how long it takes to record and get the information back to Member Services, but these days are crawling by. It may be three months again before we are through. Last time, I said "no more," but here we are again, waiting .

Just got an email that the closing docs for my BWV contract came in. They have requested the final payoff figures from Disney and hopefully will be closed tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

Big THANK YOU to both TTS and Magic Vacation Title for the great communication and customer service. I brought twice and sold once with them and have always been super helpful.

The updates definitely help to soothe the waiting pains.

Congratulations on finally getting papers. We are still waiting to close and our hopes are high. It looks like we will only get to go to WDW once this year, unless we get papers soon, we need more points.

We passed ROFR on Mar 14. Closing is April 20th. I have sent in my closing documents and payment for SSR contract about 10 days ago and have not heard anything. I emailed Magic Vacation Title and found out the seller has not returned their closing documents. I know that since closing is April 20th the sellers technically have another 2 weeks to get their closing documents in. I just want this thing to move along. So, in the words of the OP we wait.......

Well I just got notified that the escrow is closed my BWV contract

We passed ROFR as sellers on 3/20 and 3/23. As buyers, we passed on 3/27. I followed up with our broker just for an update, and she said it's going to be awhile due to the backlog ahead of us and waiting on the estoppels.

I just hope I'm closed and points in my account by 5/20, as I need to make reservations for Christmas.

Just got word today that we closed on the contract we are selling - not bad it went to ROFR 2/22 passed 3 weeks later and closed today. TSS was great. I am not as confident in Fidelity but I hope there closing company is as good as ***. We passed ROFR over a week ago. I will give it until the end of next week to start hounding! Seems like once closing docs are done and sent back closing gets done! Course we will be waiting for DVC to load the overwhelming amount of points into the system!

YAY!!!! This waiting is horrible, isn't it? I'm hoping that my purchase closing goes as smoothly as the contract I sold last month. Used TTS and *** for both. We passed ROFR on the 4th, so just waiting now for paperwork. It only took 3 days for us to get the closing documents as sellers, it's 5 days now as buyers and nothing yet.

We are as well. But, we just begun. We just sent our papers in along with our check and got word today that the sellers have sent theirs in as well. Its off to ROFR....now the REAL waiting begins.

FYI our closing date was 4/19 and we closed 4/8 so you never know! Good luck send pixie dust your way.
