The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

What services have you booked? I think im going to call and book the massage, but I am overdo for a facial!
I get facials there. I'm too picky to get massages in spas. I had an amazing upper back/shoulder and arm massage during one of the facials. There's also a whole experience before the treatment if you get there 30 minutes early. There are snacks in the relaxation room. One time, I saw lots of people sitting in the relaxation room after their treatments because they didn't have time to drink tea before the treatment and they wanted their tea! I highly recommend the facials. Whenever I stay at the Grand, I definitely consider getting one. Time is not always on my side and it's also a lot of money, but it's worth it.

My wife is like that too she always complains they dont use enough pressure so I booked her with a male. The amount of pressure she likes shocks people lol. I wish i could get both a massage and facial but $$$ 🤣🤣 I suppose I can do one this time and the other next time.

I wanted to come two hours early, but they said 1 maximum and I can stay after 🤣🤣

I am a little disappointed at no sauna or jacuzzi inside the facilities, but they told me it was a small spa.

i love being DVC now that I get to do this then hop into the park for fireworks and parade and come back. Pure relaxation 💆‍♀️

It's an improvement that they are allowing a hour early now. It's been 30 minutes whenever I have gone.
They have a steam room, which I don't use because I don't like humidity. If they had a dry sauna, they would find me napping in there. Hahaha.

It looks like $234 isn’t safe from ROFR. I did think the listings for $215 was a bit low for VGC.
I saw that and that's wild to me. There were several contracts waived below that in that timeframe in the ROFR thread. I cannot imagine what makes them decide to take one. Is it just whoever is working that day? Meanwhile, my guide still hasn't found any available contracts in my use year. She's found several with other use years, but they are below 100 points and can only be purchased as an add on. Weird system.

Staying one night right now. I'll post pics of the room when I get home. Since I'm waiting for the parade, I will share the loot I got from the DVC office onsite. I went in asking for coasters, which are much better than I expected. They said they didn't have to log those, but if I wanted a magnet, they needed to log that. I did want a magnet and they gave me the draw string bag with the magnet and a few other things. I asked if they needed to see my card in my wallet and they said it was easier to just give my phone number.View attachment 967851

What exactly should I say when I go in there? I'd love a print.

Sharing for 2026 planning, the 2026 Grad Night dates are out -

Thanks for this. We are planning on June 2026 and I can't believe it will be time to book next month already! We are trying to decide between 2 different weeks....

Is there a way to find out what UYs or any other info on the contracts that were taken back? (Besides the ones posted about here on the forum?)

I wonder if they just want to sell those for $330pp or if they are trying to drive prices up to get people to buy at VDH. Because direct at VDH is such a similar price, per point.

It might be a DVC-Y only thing….

They are ROFRing to sell & because it makes VDH direct look attractive to buyers.

You can get VDH @ $210 with incentives at or VGC @ $330

If you have Disneyland tickets you can tour the vdh villa and they gave us a Moana Polynesian print. (I asked them if they had swag, wasnt offered on its own)

At WDW they gave us a huge drawstring bag and also gave us prints for doing a guided tour and on DCL they give prints without asking. Then later after the WDW tour they mailed us luggage tags, countdown calendar and some other things I cant remember. Also $200 disney digital gift card (without asking) This was before we decided to go resale so im not sure if that would change after already being resale (im thinking probably)

It was the Polynesian print and Riviera and Cabins Fort Wilderness for WDW tour incuded in the drawstring bag. Riviera print at DCL.

I haven't been given this drawstring bag with Mickey prints when I went to vgc, was given the Dumbo magnet. Im going to start a conversation and ask and see next time if that is for direct only.

We are definitely planning a tour of VDH. There's maybe a 2% chance we would want to purchase there instead of more VGC points. But you never know!
It's a beautiful one bedroom they have there. The lighting was perfect and it gave all the Disney feels ✨

We were tempted last time, but just having to pay the TOT at check out continues to turn me away. The building and GVs are nice! I'm at 10% chance now....

For me, the TOT definitely sucks. But the direct price is really not that bad and if we got 150, we'd have member benefits. I just don't know if it's worth it or not for us though.

And we just REALLY love VGC, which is why there's a 98% chance our money will just go towards more resale instead.

It’s too bad you aren’t going in May so you could get Magical Beginnings on a VDH purchase for the 2024 points to bring the upfront price down….

Did you do the tour? So they show you the 1-bedroom on it then? How long did it take? I'm hoping my son will tolerate it.
Yes so I went to star traders DVC lounge and told them I was resale and interested in possibly becoming direct in the near future and if I could see the lounge.

We got to go to the lounge and they told us there was a model room there for VDH (I had no idea) and if we'd like to see it. Of course that was a yes. We were there for a while, but that was kind of my fault because the mission was actually to see everything and consider.

The guide did talk a lot and led us to a back office after to talk numbers and pricing (something I didnt want to do because were not buying now with current incentives)

I entertained it, but again I was curious to see their sales tactics so I was talking with her a lot. I could have ended it sooner by not asking her so many questions.

I eventually ended it by telling her we are staying at poly and riv in September and im Def not buying before that because i want to see which I like better and I wanted to take advantage of financing at 8.99% after one year of membership so that wouldnt be until March of next year. I also told her i wasnt impressed by the incentives this time around.

She kept trying (it was more aggressive than at WDW i must say) but once she knew i wasnt going to buy firmly she backed down and gave us her card and said she would update me with new incentives as they come. Thats when I asked her if there were any freebies before leaving and she gave us the print. She kind of seemed surprised by the question, but that visit really did put things in perspective and im glad we went.
