The View: Star Jones being released from the show?

I would think that Star has to be very careful about endorsing her weight loss method. Personally, I think she had gastric bypass surgery (thats my guess). If this is true, I would think she wouldn't want to be the spokesperson for this method as it is so very, very risky on many levels. It is probably better that she doesn't say anything at all.

Not that it's a big deal or anyone's business except hers, but couldn't she simply acknowledge she had it done without endorsing it or promoting it? I would think being so secretive is just going to encourage folks to pester her more. Btw, I like Rosie and agree with a lot of her issues but I dislike it when she gets confrontational. She can come off as being a bit nasty at times.

I think she is/was being very careful about mentioning it due to being perceived as endorsing or promoting this type of highly risky surgery (assuming it was gastric bypass). Although its really none of anyone's business, I think that because she hasn't said anything about it has caused somewhat of a backfire. There seems to be more talk/speculation about it than if she just acknowledged it and never mentioned it again.

Personally, I think the whole show has Jumped the shark (assuming that it was ever any good of course). Rosie used to have a "friendly" persona, and it just ain't so anymore...she's so busy blogging and throwing stones at glass houses. Star is well...Blecch. Joy...ugh...annoying. Barbara is self-involved and busy keeping the throne. Elizabeth is cute, but she can't carry it on her own.

Meredith was the only thing that made that show even pretend to be legitimate.

My prediction...it will tank before the end of 2007.

I don't understand the uproar over her weight loss? Who cares HOW she did it. She lost weight and is healthier for it. So, she hasn't talked about it. Big deal. Some things aren't up for public debate. I could care less if she had it removed bit by bit with a tweezers. It's none of my business. If she's happy with her health and the way she looks, then I'm happy for her. And that applies to anyone--not just celebrities.

Obviously, Rosie O'Donnell has a problem with the fact that Star hasn't talked about her method of weight loss. Can't imagine why it would be any of her concern.

I think that problem is that Star talks about everything else. She wrote a book about her life but didn't mention that part of it. Lots of people, myself included kind of think if you are going to write a self help book like she did, she needs to be a little more honest about something that she struggled with admittedly in the book (I have not read it all but I saw her on Dr Phil). If it was a book about getting a good career then it would not have had a place but this was a self help book and she really skirted the issue.

I can't stand her and I don't personally care how she lost weight but her being so mum on that topic told me a lot more about her than if she just admitted that she had the surgery.

We can only hope! Maybe someone will come up with a similar idea, but with likeable, smart women who really care about each other and talk about things women in the real world care about.
