I'm sure anyone who has planned a family vacation has had in the back of their mind, "I hope no one gets sick before we go". We were scheduled to fly out of Indianapolis on Sunday morning 3/13. Saturday I did some final packing, then we were off to a friend's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding & reception, by the way, until it happened... My DS who is only 19 months, vomited ALL over the place, picture projectile. He was fine up until that moment. Needless to say, we cleaned things up and went home. I gave DS a bath and took a shower myself, and he seemed to be ok. Until an hour later. Yep, he was sick again. Bless his heart. I felt so bad for him. He has never been sick like this & it lasted through the night and all day Sunday. So you've probably figured out by now that we didn't get on our flight Sunday. My FIL, BIL, BIL's gf & SIL all left. My MIL was already there (she was visiting her mother the week before & was going to meet us). So I am staying home taking care of my little angel and DH is going to go back to work so he can salvage some of his vacation days. We still want to take a trip to WDW but need to do this on a more strict budget. If anyone has any suggestions/recommendations ALL would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

Sorry to here your son was sick. Hope you are able to reschedule your trip :wizard: :wizard: Pixie dust right at ya!! :wizard:

eke...my heart aches for you, your DH and DS. I hope he starts feeling better soon, and don't worry...the DIS is here for your budget needs

Well, at least it happened before you left. We planned 5 days at WDW last February. The second day we were there, DS started projectile vomiting. He threw up every hour for 12 hours (9PM - 9AM). We were stuck in the hotel room with a sick 3 year old and an antsy 1 year old for two days. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Fortunately, we live in FL and had seasonal passes, so we still got in a lot of WDW trips, but that was our only trip that was longer than 1 or 2 days.

What did you feed him between vomitings?

I venture to suggest fasting and water only. This way you may even succeed in getting the sick one out and into a stroller so the rest of the family can enjoy the parks (weather permitting).

Nothing worse then planning a much needed holiday and have it ruined by illness. This past Oct we were there for 2 weeks. The flu bug hit us half way through our adventure. It was a nightmare, one would just start getting over it and the next one would get it. We love Eating at the Disney restaurants an plan our trip around where we are going to eat. This trip turned out to be the cheapest for food! it was soup and crakers all around!
Good Luck planning the next trip!

I don't mean to flame or sound snotty, but why on earth would you do this - when a child is sick, he should not be in a stroller out in the parks just so the rest of the family can enjoy the parks, he should be in the hotel room - this is how bugs are spread.

I think getting sick on vacation is the worst and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!

So Sorry to hear about your little one. Hope he is feeling much better. I had some sort of stomach virus myself this weekend, seems to be going around...
I just stayed home and in bed and tried to eat ice chips...

And I say I have to agree with LOVETHATMOUSE, any sick child should be resting in bed, not out in a stroller so everyone else can enjoy themselves.

Good luck with planning your next trip, hope you get to go soon!
