Just a few thoughts after yesterday's fiasco of a day.

I understand the frustration some folks have in regards to multiple ADR's or TA's getting the ADR's for their clients but I am not sure that it is justified.

As long as people are not double booking I don't see any issue. I don't understand booking several meals before even trying the food but what do i know.


We also do not know if Disney has opened the entire restaurant yet. I have heard that Disney generally has a soft opening in order to give staff a chance to get used to the menu, the timing of the menu and the pace. I find it very hard to believe that Disney would allow a 500 seat restaurant to sell out before they know how fast those tables will turn over. I imagine that there are going to be more openings as time goes on and those openings will happen as Disney determines how many tables they turn in any given period of time.

I admit being one of those lucky ones with an ADR so maybe I see this through rose colored glasses but I bet that as Disney fine-tunes their booking schedule there are going to be a lot more spaces available. This is a huge restaurant.

I also agree with folks who feel that the restaurant will either be opened for CS during party nights or will not be taking ADR's after 7PM. Folks who do not understand that the party is a hard ticket event and who have ADR's after that time may not take kindly to being turned away. Disney probably does not want to add that kind of issue to the new restaurant before they work out all of the kinks that a new restaurant may encounter.

Anyway, while I don't think that Disney held back openings in order to supply them to the online system I bet there will be plenty to be had. People who are still working on their touring plans are going to be dropping ADR's that are not needed. Keep trying!

I called again this morning just to check. No ADR's still for my week. And of course I got right through with no wait at all. Will keep looking online starting tomorrow to see if anything opens up.

A little depressed about it because the week we are going is usually lower attendance, but now that fantasy land expansion opens just days before we go I think it will be more crowded. Just blessed we are able to go at Christmas time this year.

Guess we will join the throngs on others trying to eat lunch there!

The CM I spoke to this morning said they are only taking reservations from 4-5:30 on party nights. Which to me is crazy!

Nobody know for sure. I'd say either they don't want that area of the park open for the parties, or they thought everyone booked at the other restaurants during the party would switch over leaving those other restaurants without any diners. Maybe that will be different next year since they will have advance time to plan and could just never offer ADRs at those other restaurants.

Who the heck knows.

But it would have been nice to know that tidbit in advance, and it would have been nice to know 12/7 would not be open at all, so people didn't waste a lot of time on that interactive system searching different times before going on to another date.

Agree the advanced notice on mvmcp nights would have been helpful.

I also think this area will be closed during mvmcp night...it isn't going to be decorated and I bet it is a chance for them to re-train or re group as it is a soft opening after all.

And finally...my Ressie was still there this morning despite no cc#. Yippee!

Although I did not get BOG for 11/29 when attending the party, I did find an opening at tony's town square that was not there a month ago. So my day was not so bad after all.

Just a thought but if they opened phone reservations yesterday and online tomorrow, do you think there is any chance that they held some reservations to make available for the online tomorrow? I know this was a really hyped restaurant but it's also HUGE and I just can't believe an entire month sold out in one day. That a LOT of reservations. Just wonder if maybe a portion of them were not released?? I also think it's weird how some people are reporting that they got through at 10 and it was sold out, others got through at 10 and had thier pick and still others got through at 2 and got a ressie. I know different dates and all but some maybe not. Just a thought.

I completely agree, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they release more availability closer to opening. It seems to happen all the time in the regular dining site - certain restaurants come up later than the 180 day date or suddenly have blocks of availability show up....

Just retrieved my BOG ADR's and thankfully they are still there!

I wish they were decorating that area for Christmas but totally understand why they are not.

Just called Dining and there seems to be some kind of phone problem - but I got bounced to main reservations, and they transferred me straight to dining.

Still no availability around 12/2 or 12/9, but she did say there was some opening on the 24th if anyone's been looking for that. Ah well, I guess I'll try it online - but at least we got a better Ohana time!

I hope I finally got this right - please correct me if i'm wrong. They are only taking reservations at BoG until 5 on party nights and the restaurant is not open on 12/7 - right???? We will be there 12/2-12/8. That's 4 party nights (2,4,6,7) and one night the restaurant is not open. I guess we will just plan on lunch. I'm fine with lunch because at least we will get to see the restaurant. My kids are so excited to go to Disney that we could probably just eat at our room every day and they would be fine. I'm glad I saw the mention of early closing though. At least the fact that the restaurant was completely booked for my vacation week so early yesterday makes more sense.

I redialed for over 2 hours yesterday before finally getting my first choice reservation. On a whim I called today to see if anything had opened up because I was on the fence about eating there twice in one trip. By chance I was able to find one available on my second choice day that wasn't available yesterday. I wasn't sure if we wanted to eat there twice on the same trip but I think fate was telling me something so I jumped and made the second reservation. Thank you to whomever cancelled their reservation!!!

I would definitely tell those of you who haven't gotten an ADR yet to not give up. I was totally bummed yesterday after I heard my day, Nov 19th, was completely booked. But I called last night just to double check and managed to score a ressie for 7:50!

Totally agree--- I was able to get an ADR for 12/1 pretty late in the afternoon yesterday, after many ppl had posted (due to what they were told by agents/cms) that all Nov and Dec dates and times were fully booked-
