I just picked up my very first copy of the Unofficial Guide to Disney :flower: Just glancing through it and started to read about Pal Mickey....I kid you not....on page 347 it says
' Occasionally he shares something personal like, "I could totally get baked on a good joint right about now. Are you holding?" ' :rotfl2: And then later on in the same part about Pal Mickey it states something about how the clip won't hold him and one reader advises "you can just rip off Pal Mickey's head, leg and nonvibrating arm. You get some strange looks, but what's left still laughs and tells you about park going on, and he's much more portable." :scared1:

:rotfl: :rotfl: I can't wait to read the rest of the book  Wish I would have known this before, I would have read this book first!! :rotfl2:

I find this to be pretty disturbing, especially since many children have these. Thanks for letting us know this -- I wouldn't get one now knowing this. You just saved me a lot of money!

Debbie - not to worry, in the 2005 UG book it states right after that comment "(JOKE!)". Pal Mickey does not really say that, it is just the humor of the UG writers. :teeth:

BTW - I'm also an Aggie in your area (Plano here). Gig 'em!

Oh no, don't buy a PM because of this....I think it is an attempt at humor on the writer's part. As I read more of the book, it is filled with this kind of joking. I can't wait to read the rest of the book!

I have this and gone through it several times, but never read that.... shows you how I jump around so much in the book though.

Actually, in my copy (2006) it doesn't say (joke). I just assumed it was a joke....

You are right Kim. As soon as I hit "send" I realized I should have put 2005 in there. I edited my response, but by the time I finished you had already replied to my mistake - holy moly you are quick!

:rotfl: and I really should be working instead of posting!! Hope I didn't offend you, I didn't mean to do that....right now I'm reading the thread the OP wrote about. I think I should have searched the topic first before posting...seems lots of people got upset about the comment. Don't mean to bring up bad vibes....I will TRY and go back to work now :rotfl2:

LOL - I should be getting some work done here, too - nah. Anyways, no offense taken here - I thought your post was :rotfl: . Heck, if Pal Mickey really DID say that, THEN I would buy him. LOL

Thanks! I can resume breathing now. :teeth:

Nice to hear from another Aggie -- cool!

And hey, we are having a Dis Meet on Saturday, 21 January at 2:00 pm. It is posted on the Dis Meet Forum. We would love to see you there. ::yes::

PM me if you would like the information. They are just too much fun! :flower:

Hey, Disney Aggie! Class of '87 myself!

I bought a Pal Mickey in June and we listened to him for 7 days straight--nothing offensive, just lots of corny jokes. :earsboy:

The writers of the guide do have a great sense of humour! That being said, the joke about Pal Mickey is the only joke in the entire book that I think is questionable for kids. That is kind of why it is so funny! Because you will be reading along, get to the Pal Mickey part, and that line about having a joint kinda jumps out at you!!!

This is a very good informative, fun to read book. Believe that is the only line that is kid questionable. I have been throught the entire book and I wouldn't not buy it because of that one or two lines. Don't ignore the other 99.9% because of that .1%. :teeth:

I think some of you TOTALLY misunderstood what I meant. I did not know what was written was a joke and I said I would not buy a Pal Mickey if he really DID say that -- but rumor has it, it was all a joke and he didn't.

I have the book -- just got my latest addition yesterday -- LOVE THE BOOK! :flower:

P.S. And a "Gig 'em" to you, too, disneyag! :flower3:
