The Unofficial Golf at Disney FAQ Thread

I got to play Magnolia on Saturday, first round at Disney this year. I hope for all of you with upcoming tee times that the rain stays away for a bit, as the course was practically underwater. It was cart path only, and we all know how fun that can be as well. Hit em straight:thumbsup2

We played Magnolia in June. It was our first time to play any Disney course. It was a blast. It was so hot, (we played at 3:00pm), I thought I was going to melt until a nice man came along with iced towels. I hadn't ever seen them before but they were literally a life saver. Unfortunately, I think I am hooked on playing golf at Disney! ;) Playing Magnolia was the highlight of our week. Actually the walking course was fun also. We were smart and used that as our warm up at 7:00am. We were matched up with a nice, friendly father and son from England.

Played LBV last April, short but tight! I love how It criss crosses across the cannal. But i think I will stick with Magonial and the Palms.

With the great offer for resort guests for the month of Sept, my DH has decided to add a couple of rounds of golf to his vacation plans. He wants to play at Osprey and Magnolia. He plans on using the vouchers for transportation but after reading about taxi drivers not knowing where to go I was wondering how to get directions to these courses. Can anyone help?

Also is it possible to get picked up at a park instead of a resort?

Thanks!

Can anyone tell me, when you are renting clubs do you need to inform them/make some kind of reservation for them beforehand or is it just at the counter when you get there?

Dinah you dont really need reservations for club rental. My buddy and I played a few weeks back and he showed up and asked for rentals with no problem. From what I've seen in the back room, they have more than enough clubs to go around..:thumbsup2

Thanks, that is a huge help!

Did anyone happen to play this past week-end (Labor Day week-end)? I see Disney had a special offer of $59 to play ALL DAY on ANY Disney course for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Just curious if anyone took advantage, and also I wondered how buys the courses were!! Anyone? :)

Thanks for the bumps Simba. I have not been spending as much time on the boards, and lost track of this thread. That will be changing, however, as we're going down tomorrow and I have a 10:50 tee time at Osprey Ridge:thumbsup2

Played at Osprey on Wednesday (and actually played quite well;)) Course was in great shape as always, perhaps a little wet from the rain we got last week. Its interesting to see how the Four Seasons development is changing the look of the complex in general. There is one hole on the back 9 (cant remember which) where a giant stone wall was built and afronts the course. The development itself seems to be moving slow, if at all, as its basically just a giant empty field...

I have a flight Wed morning at 7am down to WDW :) I have tee-times on Wed afternoon at the Palm.....Thursday morning at the Magnolia.....then will probably play a few mornings at Oak Trail since we have some "Plus" options left on our tickets!! Hopefully we have decent weather!!

Does anyone know if they would provide complimentary transportation for resort guests to and from oak trail if I am using the waterpark & fun pass to play there?

Or do they only provide complementary tranportation for paying players?

If you are staying at a Disney resort transportation to the golf courses is complimentary.

That's correct!! They don't ask if you are paying or using the "Plus" option. Just go to the bell hop at the hotel and they will ask you what golf course you are playing and give you a voucher. Then you jump in the next available cab and off you go. When you are finished golfing, just mention to one of the cast members that are cleaning your clubs/shoes that you need to get back to your hotel and they will give you a voucher and call a cab.

My DH was going to golf one day on our upcoming trip, then he looked up the prices. We live in a BIG golfing area and even the best courses aren't that expensive. DH has decided not to golf. Oh well! ;)

We are going to be there this July(the frist couple of weeks of July) and I makeing tee times for the Morinings. genrealy How Is the weather In the Morinings?
