1st weekend.... 4th is Thursday - 7th Sunday... I'm currently blocked on Saturday and Sunday .. with some creative planning to "fix" that.

Is another weekend better for you? Im down for just about anything.

Its actually a huge deal here right now. There is some cracks in the Howard Hansen Dam. Which is the Dam on the Green River.. If we get heavy rains, there is a one in four chance they will have to release a TON of water... flooding the Valley. Or risk the Dam breaking and doing a bunch more damage. If they have to release the water, it will leave the Valley under 6ft. of water. there are HUNDREDS of people living in the Valley, and my husbands shop is in the Valley. They are sandbagging the whole area. Boeing has already put up an 8 ft, barrier.. Dhs shop bought a boat. It is no joke!

One in four chance?? Yikes!
Flooding is no fun! We live far enough from the river and any of the bigger lakes to not have problems. But every few years we have huge snowfalls, quick thaws making for dangerous conditions.

Flooding basements and such for those who live near one of the rivers or lakes. And bigger worries in smaller towns.. built on 100 yr flood plains. Two towns were destroyed one year.

There is an island in St Paul that is a park and used for various festivals it's right on the Mississippi River.. it was completely submerged one year. Wrecked the park buildings $$$$

YIKES See what happens when you live in SW WA and only get the Portland channels. I had no idea. SCARY!

We stayed at that one. Not really the greatest hotel. I can get Hyatt, Marriott, Ritz Carlton and Best Western. I think there is a BW on the other side of DL that might be better.

Here is what I can currently get for food...Burger King, Panera, Starbucks, Applebees, Macaroni Grill, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Season 52, Hard Rock Cafe, Chilis.

Although if we go to a hotel that has a restaurant, then we might be able to use the gift cards in the restaurant also.

Okay.. Im bored, so I will do some checking.. The hotels..
I am doing the 4th of Feb-7th of Feb. four adults to a room. Just in case someone else comes too.. Or Rochelle stays the night. Whatever. Oh.. and on a AAA discount.

Oh those rooms look COMFY!! They have a shuttle, but no breakfast.. They have a Pizza Hut and Starbucks in the hotel. It looks like $599.00 after taxes. Its KINDA far away too.

Marriot.. OHHHH!! Marriot has tons of places! Including the Residence inn. Which I am sure you all knew.

So did we ever get exact dates pinned down? I was going to book my plane ticket this morning. Alaska has a pretty open schedule this far out.

So far my boss has about 32,000 points on his credit card that has the hotel gift cards. For every 12,500 miles we can get a $100 gift card. So far we have almost $300 off the hotel room. He spends an average of about $15,000 per month on that card. So I figure we should be able to get $600 off our hotel room with the gift cards. That should cover us for a few days.

It looked like Marriott was offering lots of specials/deals. I seen one that had get two rooms for the price of one room. I know my cousin Carol would like to come join us for a day or two, Pix may want to spend the night, what about Sarah or Melody?? If we get two rooms then we could spread out a bit.
