The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BERNICE!!!!!

I think that it is Wednesday at your house right now.. puckerup:

There is only one house right behind us that backs to our property (yet it is still quite a walk). The thing is I really just want to relax and not have to worry about other peoples kids. How anyone could let their child into a strangers house I just don't understand - I guess that is just small town living for you!!!

I can see what you mean about worrying about other people's kids. I hope you find out who the parents are. I hope they don't hit your DD and steal your kids toys again and that is really gross that one of them pees on your lawn! :crazy2::crazy2:

My co-worker told us that when she was living in her old neighborhood, she was driving to work and saw a small child (in diapers and barely walking) hobbling along in the middle of the street. There was also another small child with him and barely looked 2 years old. She stopped the car and just scanned the neighborhood looking for the children's parents. She didn't see anyone. She rang the doorbell of a couple of homes and they tried to help her. She was worried and didn't know what to do so she stayed with the kids until the parents returned home.

About an hour or two later, she said that the kids front door was unlocked and no one was home. She said that the mom returned home. My co-worker mentioned what happened and asked how she could leave these children at home alone. The mom said that her husband's car broke down so she left to go help him.:eek: :sad2::sad2: My co-worker was pissed at this mom and mentioned that the front door was wide open and her kids were wandering around in the street. She also said that they could have been kidnapped or hurt. The mom said that she felt that leaving the youngest child with the eldest one would be fine. WTH??? :headache::headache::mad:

My bf's co-worker (who is in his 20's) is obsessed with Twilight. He buys teeny bopper magazines if any of the stars are on the cover or in the magazine. My bf said he gets teased all the time by fellow co-workers. He also buys all the memorabilia (bracelets, necklaces, posters) and watches videos of them on his PSP.

Wow, it's so quiet on here this morning. I can't wait until next week.....I get 2 days off and am going to DL with my bf to celebrate my b-day early. :woohoo::woohoo: I booked Blue Bayou too and am looking forward to the food.

:flower3:Thank you !:flower3:

I tagged along with my sis to a thrift store this morning, she needed jeans for her family. Lil guy was crowing, whining and attempting to hurl himself out of the cart to the floor... we had to cut our shopping trip short. :lmao:

Found a skort (yes, very "old lady" of me.. but it was a cute blue plaid print, now I need a blue shirt to match... another excuse to go shopping!).

Another welcome sign for my ever growing collection (I have a walll full already and four that still need to be hung)

Two more paper mache Mexican people for E's collection.
Similar to these...

Total $9.90 :thumbsup2

I love thrift stores. :lovestruc

Cool Bernice! I hope you had a great day :goodvibes

So where are the rest of the hyenas today? Don't make me bust out a priority chart! :teacher: :rotfl:

Howdy Hyenas! I tried to post twice earlier today and both times it kept telling me that i had not signed in. So I gave up and posted on FB.

It has been brought to my attention recently that this is an UNOFFICIAL hyena chatterbox thread. Therefore I must leave in search of the OFFICIAL one.

I'm in one of those chatty, funky, smart alecky sort of moods tonight. And yet not a Hyena in sight.popcorn::

Ditto. :)

curious though, if something is cooked with gas powered stove, would the food taste the same as a electric powered stove?

Theoretically it should. However, I am used to electric and every time we go camping and I have to cook on our propane gas stove I burn things. But if I burnt things on an electric stove then I'm pretty sure it would taste the same.:rotfl2:

So I guess my answer is yes, it should taste the same. However, electric is very slow to warm up and then very slow to cool down. You can turn off the electric stove and it will continue cooking for some time.

But with gas, it gets hot quickly and when you turn it off, it is almost instant cool.
