The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

So I finally have both babies down by like 11:30 last night. Woohoo, right?? YEAH FREAKING RIGHT. Kaylee woke up at midnight... coughing, hacking.. just all around feeling like crap. THEN she starts barfing. and.. as she puts it.. "peeing out of her back butt" She had a really good fever going, and was full on, HORRIBLY ill. I woke up my husband and told him I think she needs to go to the hospital, she was in pretty bad shape. But he wanted to wait.. ie.. sleep. I stayed up all night with her, getting fluids into her... holding her.. You know, doing mommy stuff. I FINALLY get her back down at 4. GUESS WHAT??? Jasmine woke up. HOLY FREAKING COW! Then Alex comes running in the living room.. Kaylee is puking in her bed! Ugh. OMG.

Here is my horrid mommy moment... I kept Alex out of school today so he could help me with the babies. I was a freaking basket case, I was SHAKING I was so freaking tired. I need a vacation.

Woah staley, that is brutal! I hope it's nothing serious and your girl is feeling better. Maybe everyone will take a nap at the same time today.

oh wow megan!
Sounds like the flu :worried:
:wizard: sending some sleepy pixie dust and no more ickies wishes your way

DH decided we need to invite his assistant principal over for dinner. We knew him 17 years ago when we both went to Job Corps (he was a teacher/ supervisor), it was a nice surprise to both of us to reconnect again when Eloy started his position. Very nice gentlemen, very funny, very smart and he sounds very lonely. I told Eloy, make sure he knows we are poor and live in a crappy tiny apartment.

We've never had anyone over beyond our own family or fellow apartment dwellers. We only have four chairs at our tiny avocado green table, we don't own wine glasses and our decor is thrift store combined with assorted junk that comes with having two teenagers as part of a family living within 700 sq feet of space. Clutter, clutter and more clutter. Needless to say, I'm nervous.

Now what to make?? Hmm, no clue. Maybe chicken tacos (in crock pot- bag of frozen chicken, some bouillon and packet of taco seasoning) and sopa seca in my rice cooker (tomato rice and peas), easy peasy and requires no time of me to stand in the kitchen and make the place smoky and smelly.

hey, do you guys still need tickets? i know someone does but i cleared my PM and i dont remember who.

Let me know yeah?

You know how manufacturers put peelies on products, advertising similar products? Cereal has peelies for free milk when you buy x boxes, BBQ sauce has a hangtag coupon for wet wipes, chicken breasts have peelies for foil or some kind of marinade.. you know things that go together, products that make sense together.

Eloy bought cheese from the deli, they packaged in a baggie with a zip closure and slapped on a tag.

Today I glanced at the package in the fridge.

Hmm first glance I see an advertisement for Glad products.. odd but I guess you need wrap or baggie if you made a sandwich, it kinda goes together.

Then I notice the words "odor control".. huh???:confused::confused::confused3
Not baggies, not wrap, not even a gladware product.. nope my deli cheese is advertising

Garbage bags

Is the manufacture trying to say something about this product?

This cheese is going to suck, just toss it in the trash. Here buy these....
or
You're going to need odor control garbage bags when you get done with this cheese, sucker!

Now I'm afraid of the cheese, I bet it smells like garbage.. stinky scented bagged garbage.

I'm so glad I discovered FB, it gives me something to do when the DIS decides to be slow.

B. I recently bought some lavender scented garbage sacks (I had a kewpen). They smell bewtifull when I put a new sack in the can. I have no idea what they smell like after garbage is put in them...well because taking garbage out is not MY job.:rotfl2:

You know now that I've been posting on the Unofficial Chatterbox Thread for a few years now, I was just wondering if you guys might finally tell me where the Official Chatterbox Thread is at???

Good question, I'm not even sure why it came ot be "unofficial" maybe we were afraid of the permanency of "officialdom"? :rotfl:

Good Morning! Happy Friday!

We have this new bakery in town that sells fancy cupcakes. A dozen for $28.00. Yikes. I guess the bakery brought some in last week (the perks of working for the local newspaper) and now the ladies in my office all pitched in money and are going to get a dozen at lunch so they can try all the flavors.

There is actually another bakery that sells their cupcakes for $40 a dozen! :scared1:

http://doubledcupcakes.com/

I will let you know how they are. :rotfl:

Okay, so I tried the cupcakes and they tasted like cupcakes. :rotfl:

The frosting was were the flavor was. My favorite was a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting.

I wouldn't spend $28 on 12 cupcakes. They weren't even that big.

Okay... my story from the last 48 hours or so..

Kaylee woke up at 10 oclock or on Wed. night. Puking, pooping.. all that. But for a while she was still keeping down water. All that stopped around 3am. She couldnt even keep down water. So I wake up Dh and take her to the hospital. We wait.. and WAIT.. W finally get back in about 8am, and they want to do blood tests, lung X-rays.. and a urine test. The blood comes back a little off, but the dr. says that is most likely just because of the vomiting and diarrhea.. The lung X-ray looked good, but her urine test came back with signs of infection. He said kidney infection. I said...:faint: WHAT!! Then he said that he had already called Mary Bridge Childrens hospital, and they were waiting for us to transfer over there. :scared1::scared1:

All this time I couldnt get ahold of my husband. Our phone wast working, and it was like noon already. I couldnt figure it out. Turns out, in the two weeks I have been living in a sleep deprived fog, I forgot to pay the cable bill. AGAIN. :sad2: So I cal my mother in law, ask her if she can keep the babies, and ALex.. She said yes. I ran home, got everyone together, and then went to Alex's school.. picked him up and dropped the kids off at Grandmas house.. Not without getting a lot of crap about leaving the twins with her. I HAVE NO CHOICE!! We needed HELP! GEEZ.

Anyways, we there.. they gave her two GIANT shots in the legs of antibiotic, said she had a urinary tract infection, and gave us some perscriptions.. Said she probably had the flu, and it just ran all over her. She got the UTI from the poos and not wiping right.. and messing her pants and sitting in poo most likely. Then we went home.

After being up for at LEAST 48 hours straight, After I found out she was okay, they werent admitting her.. I passed out while we were getting our discharge stuff. COMPLETELY. :sad2:

She is home, has a scrip for zofran for vomiting.. and keflex?? something for the UTI. I am SOOO tired!

:laughing:Spoken like a woman without children.:rotfl2: One day you will know why that was so funny.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:RIGHT! It would be LOVELY if everyone would nap at the same time. Heck. i dont even care if they do... As long as someone is home that can make sure the babies dont kill themselves. Like Alex. He can feed them a bottle, and make sure they dont try base jumping off the TV stand. I will just nap on the couch..

OH!!! Big news!! We got a four bedroom apt!!!! We move in the first half of Feb!!!! They had one opened, which we knew, because we saw the folks moving out. She said.. Ill bet you want in a bigger place!:lmao::lmao: She said its not ready yet, but when it is Its yours!!:cool1: Its $900. a month.. Not to bad!

YIKES! 48 hours of craziness and rollercoaster of emotions too.
Nothing like a sick kid almost admitted to a hospital to scare the poo out you.
What's with your family crabbing about helping out? I don't even have little kids anymore and it is sometimes an inconvenience, but I watch my nephews frequently because I know my sis has ten million things to do where she can't bring the kidlets to get it done.

Hmm.. I got a scolding from my family when I asked for help when BOTH of us were having surgery (transplant). It wasn't a last minute request. I was told "how dare you ask, we have other commitments you know"

I love my family, but sometimes they are just really dumb.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:wooohoo on the 4 bedroom! That is an awesome price, it would be about that for just a three bedroom here. Finding a rental with more than 2 bedrooms is a challenge, unless you rent a house. $$$$

I have three shopping lists set for Saturday.

My local Cub (same parent company for Albertson's) has ground turkey for $1, I have 3 coupons for $1/2 :yay: Hopefully they still have stock, or I can get a rain check and maybe find more coupons ;)

Target has Kashi cereal for $2.75, I have 75/1 Target printables and I found peelies on the boxes (at Target) for $3/2 Kashi products. 50 cents each, YUM!
:goodvibes

They also have Special K crackers for $2.39, buy 2 and get Special K crisps free, I have $1/2 for the crackers, $1/2 any special K product Target coupon (from inserts) (I think there are some Target coupons for $1/1 too.. but I used it already)

Also will buy 2 boxes of cereal, I have a printable for a B1G1 from Special K website, $1/1 Target printable (2) for the cereals and some coupons that are buy x and x of Special K products and get $2 off milk, another for $2 off produce.

If I added correctly, 2 crackers, 2 cereal and 1 crisp will be less than $4 PLUS $2 in milk and $2 in produce for free. :yay:

Next is Walmart... going to stretch a $40 GC as far as I can go. Lots of stuff, tons of stuff from various blogs and A Full Cup.

This blog is awesome!!!
