Yup, he's a truck guy, not an engine guy. I guess there's a difference, one guy cuts holes in roofs, which would be him, the other guy puts the wet stuff on the red stuff. I love watching him drive the truck. He took me for a ride in it one day...

*sigh* My eyes are turning green even as I speak (um, I mean type). I think we need that hot firemen picture right about now, don't you?

Thanks! He took me to Coney Island on my birthday last year (my 30th, so it was the BIG one) and we ate Nathan's Hot Dogs at the original stand, then we walked the boardwalk and rode the Cyclone rollercoaster and the Wonderwheel, oh, and oohed and awed at the baby walrus at the aquarium. It was perfect!!!!!!

How fun!

Not for awhile I'm afraid, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks if you know what I mean... He's used to being a bachelor and is fiercely independent. So I'm breaking him in gently. Eventually he'll realize he needs me around. Even if it's just to eat our way around NYC and laugh at the wax figures at Madam Tussuad's. Trust me, he's worth the wait.

Oh, I see. Well, I'm sure he'll see the light some day soon. I'll tell Tinkerbell to send some pixie dust to help things along. He definitely sounds like he's worth the wait!

The man actually enjoys Broadway plays. He went with me to see Phantom. Then he went with me to see South Pacific and still raves about it to this day, that was last year (also for my birthday, but not on my birthday, same week though). He enjoys the Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast shows.

Yup, to actually ride in something that helped us win the war against the axis powers would just make my day. The history that was involved with those planes. Yes, I have a slobbering love affair with a hunk of metal. Just hope I don't rust it!

You'd better learn how to sing "Off We Go Into the Wild, Blue Yonder" before you leave for your trip.

Jamestown was cool too. I love the period dress and the blacksmith shops. I like all the carriages and horse drawn wagons. Makes you appreciate indoor plumbing and modern appliances!

Yeah, I love how you get to see how they lived back then. It definitely wasn't an easy life. It wasn't easy to walk down the streets and look out for "road apples" at the same time.

Oh yeah, now I recognize him. I liked that show.

I miss that show. I wish they'd show it again. Josh Bernstein was pretty cute.

Eh, what's an extra $25? I can't life my suitcase anyway after surgery so I"m going to have to hire a hot guy, or my dad to do it.

I think that you should hire a hot guy to do it. How about one of those firemen?

If you like to cook, you can make the Le Cellier cheddar cheese recipe at home! Here's the recipe. I found it on the Disney recipe exchange thread on the cooking board. It makes a lot, so you might want to halve the recipe.

I don't care much for airline snacks, so I always pack my own. I never take a trip without packing at least 2 peanut M&Ms packets in my hand carry. I also like to bring along some sort of cheesy snack like Goldfish and some sweet snacks like Sour Patch watermelons. Sometimes I bring along some homemade rice krispies treats, too. I always like to buy a bottle of water after I've gone through security. I don't care how much it costs. (Just be sure to save your receipt, just in case).

I always pack M&M's as well! They are my favorite! Agreed about the water too, although it is like 4 bucks a bottle..sheesh!

The other big decision, yes, I'm 30 years old and I'm trying to figure out which build a bear to bring. I've got the elephant in a Tinkerbell outfit (which would remind me of Disney), I've got the shamrock bear, the red white and blue stars bear, a Boston Red Sox bear, a Boston Bruins bear, which would you take along? I'll go look and see what else I have. Oh, I have a stuffed Zebra and a stuffed Eeyore that I love. What to do?

Like there is even a decision on this?? The Red Sox bear, of course...I have a Build a Bear Red Sox one too, his name is Jacoby!! I love Build A Bear and my daughter has about 5 of them. I only have a Red Sox one and a Patriots one

Well, our relationship seems to waffle between very good friends and a couple. There's definitely something between us, there has been ever since the first day he walked into my Disaster Recovery Center in Key West in 2005 and told me he was there to go to work for me. Neither one of us drink much, so we spent a lot of time together every night eating out and stuff in Key West while out co-workers got plastered, so it was like 30 nights of dates until he had to go home. There was something there. He came back to visit me for New Year's Eve down there and we had the best time! I really enjoy spending time with him. We're so compatible. We love a lot of the same things. We're museum nerds (yup, we can spend all day in the Museum of Natural History and want to go back the next day), we love to eat, and we LOVE Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and we dig the Bronx Zoo. He loves it so much, he's a member there.

Thanks! Oh, I'm hanging on to him. He's a fireman, actually, one of the 3 fire chiefs now, so that in itself makes him SEXY! Woohoo! I'll keep you updated for sure. I buy him little Donald Duck things, that's his favorite character. He buys me Tigger and Eeyore things. It was a match made in heaven... He always asks me if I want to go to the zoo when I come visit him, it cracks me up. Last time I was there we hit the Bronx Zoo, the Central Park Zoo, and the NY Aquarium and both of us decided that if we had more time, we'd go back. Oh, and he's a rollercoaster freak like me! He loves RnR and TOT. He wants both of us to try to get into the Indiana Jones show next time. He's just an all around good guy.

He sounds like a great guy!! Despite his bachelor-esq qualities, it seems like he'd be worth waiting for! Plus.. he's a fireman? Well.. What more do I need to say?

I'm a history-lover, too! That's part of the reason why I love Williamsburg, VA so much. I especially love ancient history. I've probably seen every History channel show about ancient Egypt, the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World and the ancient world in general. Did you ever watch Ancient Discoveries or Digging for the Truth? I loved those shows!!

I'm a HUGE history buff!! I love every period of history, minus industrialization and really really early stuff.. but everything else, I'm a big fan. Hopefully next year I can leave being an elementary teacher and go do secondary history education! Fingers crossed, Ladies!

I want to get second holes pierced in my ears. It's exactly 6 weeks before surgery, which is the time it takes to heal before you can take them out. I can't have them in for surgery because they will do an MRI during surgery. What would y'all do????????

Hmm.. just because I'm a big "worried Wanda" I would vote for waiting until after surgery. I'm sure everything would be fine if you got them done now (if you're heart's really set on it!) but I just wouldn't want to risk anything.. but again.. Worried Wanda here.

I keep going back and forth. My mom said not to do it because of the risk of infection, which I can see. I want it done, but I guess I've waited this long, waiting another 6 months wouldn't be a big deal.

Your mom has a point. It's pretty common for them to get infected.. that'd be the last thing you'd need.

They are supposed to be really hypo-allergenic for those of us allergic to metal (which should go away after surgery...). I think I'll get some fish and chips for dinner too. I'm dying for tartar sauce for some reason.

I had a great day! I went for a walk with my friend and her dogs. I'm in love with Bert the Beagle. He's soooooooooooo cute!!!!!! He curled right up on my lap and went to sleep.

I think I kinda sound like a frumpy old grandma who is baffled by the computer..

How was your day?

My day was pretty nice!! Just went to work, taught my children , ran some errands and now just waiting for DFiance to get home from a class he has to take for his job. Kinda boring but nice!

No worries! Here's the fastest way to put it in your signature:

-Go to the PM that has the signature that you want and click on "reply" or "forward" (it really doesn't matter which), which will be in the bottom right-hand corner of the message.

-You'll see all the picture codes/text in the text box. Highlight all of the picture codes/text and copy it. I made sure to center it, so everything between CENTER and /CENTER is what you'll need to copy.

-Go to "Edit Signature" and paste the copied information. Voila!


If you have any trouble with this, just let me know and I'll help you out.

I've been craving those cookies for a while now and I finally made a batch the other day. I did a little cleaning and prepped some ribs for dinner tomorrow. I really wanted some barbecue ever since yesterday. Hmmmmm, I wonder why.

I'm doing OK, thanks for asking. I had a pretty good day. I had more energy than usual, so that was nice. I went to bed around 1 am, so I got a nice 8 hours in. Getting nervous and excited for Saturday when I find out if surgery is a go or not.
