Thanks! Now that's a cake!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Finding flights to San Antonio is a pain in the rear!!!!!!!!

Yup, I love that cake, too.

Hey, I wonder if you should just fly into Houston instead, especially since that's where you'll be having your surgery. If I remember correctly, it takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to drive from Houston to San Antonio. You could rent a car in Houston and drive over.

:scared: :scared: :scared: Flying into Houston is a nightmare because it's spring break. Flights are full.

Ugh, too bad. :sad2: Well, I hope that you'll be able to find a good fare. Did you contact MD Anderson?

Yeah, their fares were worse than what I could get online. They wanted over $700 a person for roundtrip flights to and from Houston two days after I wanted to go there. :confused3 :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:

I hope there's munchies on the flight! I love munchies. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: What kind of munchies would you pack?

I did talk to my Jersey Disney partner today too, which was nice. I hadn't talked to him in a week and a half or so. We got all excited talking about what we want to do in September when we get there. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We've got all the restaurants we want to eat at pinned down. We get so excited talking about all the rides. We're serious Disney geeks. :lmao: :rotfl2: I love how excited he gets about these trips. He bought the Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney World today. He knows what to hit at DTD. We're all psyched for Dole Whips and the HM. It's just cool to go with someone who loves it as much as I do! Other than my Unicorn sisters (and a few from my other thread), there's no one else I'd rather go with.

I don't care much for airline snacks, so I always pack my own. I never take a trip without packing at least 2 peanut M&Ms packets in my hand carry. I also like to bring along some sort of cheesy snack like Goldfish and some sweet snacks like Sour Patch watermelons. Sometimes I bring along some homemade rice krispies treats, too. I always like to buy a bottle of water after I've gone through security. I don't care how much it costs. (Just be sure to save your receipt, just in case).

Oooh, that's great!! :woohoo: :cool1:  He's going to WDW with you? Awesome! When are you going in September? Are you guys just friends or are you a couple? Sorry, I'm nosey! :teeth:

   :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Yeah, that's about what I did. The best fare I can find is $268 per person on Southwest into San Antonio. My mom is insisting on visiting her travel agent tomorrow to see what kind of specials she can dig up. I haven't used a travel agent in years, so we'll see what she comes up with. I did tell her that I want to get flights pinned down tomorrow so we don't miss out. I don't want to miss the Alamo!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Goldfish crackers are soooooooo good! I need to pack those. I'll get the 100 calorie packs. Those are good because they're salty and if I have a problem on the way home, I need salty. Good idea! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I love the peanut butter m&m's. Those rule! I like sour patch kids too. Those would be good.

Homemade rice krispy treats? I'm flying with you next time!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Are they in Mickey shapes?

The other big decision, yes, I'm 30 years old and I'm trying to figure out which build a bear to bring. :confused3 :confused3 I've got the elephant in a Tinkerbell outfit (which would remind me of Disney), I've got the shamrock bear, the red white and blue stars bear, a Boston Red Sox bear, a Boston Bruins bear, which would you take along? I'll go look and see what else I have. Oh, I have a stuffed Zebra and a stuffed Eeyore that I love. What to do?

Yes he's going to WDW with me. In fact, all 3 of my previous trips were with him too. He's the one who encouraged me to go the first time because I'd only been to Disneyland. Pretty cool, huh? We've got bounceback booked for September 6-20th I believe, 14 days. Free dining!!!!!! Woohooo!

Well, our relationship seems to waffle between very good friends and a couple. There's definitely something between us, there has been ever since the first day he walked into my Disaster Recovery Center in Key West in 2005 and told me he was there to go to work for me. Neither one of us drink much, so we spent a lot of time together every night eating out and stuff in Key West while out co-workers got plastered, so it was like 30 nights of dates until he had to go home. There was something there. He came back to visit me for New Year's Eve down there and we had the best time! I really enjoy spending time with him. We're so compatible. We love a lot of the same things. We're museum nerds (yup, we can spend all day in the Museum of Natural History and want to go back the next day), we love to eat, and we LOVE Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and we dig the Bronx Zoo. He loves it so much, he's a member there.

I hope that your mom's travel agent can get you a good deal. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Gotta remember the Alamo!! :thumbsup2

Yup, I love Goldfish! I love cheesy snacks in general. I MUST have both salty and sweet snacks on a flight. I forgot to mention that I sometimes like to bring some homemade trail mix. It has raw, unsalted pumpkin seeds, raw, unsalted sunflower seeds, raisins or dried cranberries and (sometimes) chocolate chips or plain M&Ms. My hand carry is very well-stocked. I'll never starve on a flight. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Love the Mickey-shaped rice krispie treats pictures!! I want some now. I've never made them in Mickey shapes before, but I think that I may start doing that sometimes. I usually just cut them into squares and wrap each square with wax paper.

Oh Honu, that is so cute!! I love the Build-a-Bear store. I've never gotten a bear, though. I think that the elephant in the Tinkerbell outfit would be cute. Either that one or the red, white and blue stars bear, the stuffed zebra, or the stuffed Eeyore. Uh, OK, that wasn't much of a help, was it? Hmmmmm....... I think that you should put them all in a row and do the old "eenie, meenie, minie, moe". :thumbsup2

I hope so too. Thanks! I can't wait to see the Alamo. I'm such a history geek. OMG, there's 2 B-17's within a 40 mile radius from me when I get to Houston. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. I"m gonna have to go see those.

All that sounds so good. I'm going to have to go to work on some of that. I'll need some good hearty snacks for the flight home.

I saw them and I wanted one too....

I love Build A Bear too. I could go there all the time. It's so much fun. Eeyore is definitely going. I need him 'cause he's squeezable. I think it may be the elephant, but it might have to be shamrock bear since he was with me when they found the tumor. I just don't know. This is going to be a hard decision!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! After all this, I need my escape to WDW. We're staying at POP so it's relatively cheap. We only use the hotel for sleeping anyway, so we literally could stay in a cardboard box on property and be happy! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks! Oh, I'm hanging on to him. He's a fireman, actually, one of the 3 fire chiefs now, so that in itself makes him SEXY! Woohoo! I'll keep you updated for sure. I buy him little Donald Duck things, that's his favorite character. He buys me Tigger and Eeyore things. It was a match made in heaven...    He always asks me if I want to go to the zoo when I come visit him, it cracks me up. Last time I was there we hit the Bronx Zoo, the Central Park Zoo, and the NY Aquarium and both of us decided that if we had more time, we'd go back. Oh, and he's a rollercoaster freak like me! He loves RnR and TOT. He wants both of us to try to get into the Indiana Jones show next time. He's just an all around good guy.

Those B-17s would be awesome to see! I'm a history-lover, too! That's part of the reason why I love Williamsburg, VA so much. I especially love ancient history. I've probably seen every History channel show about ancient Egypt, the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World and the ancient world in general. Did you ever watch Ancient Discoveries or Digging for the Truth? I loved those shows!!

Good luck deciding. Hey, maybe you should bring your zebra with you since it has such a significant meaning.

I'm going to try and talk my parents into letting me go for a ride on one of the B-17's. That's been my dream since the Aluminum Overcast flew into Seattle a few years ago.

I loved Williamsburg too when I was there. It was so fascinating. I love seeing how they used to do things. :thumbsup2 OMG, I watch the history channel all the time too! I love Ancient Discoveries! I watched that all the time. I hadn't seen digging for the truth, I don't think, but maybe it's just not ringing a bell for me. I love anything WW2. The ancient Egypt stuff is interesting too. They were really advanced as a society. I love medical history too, like how procedures were developed. Very cool.

I think the Zebra might have to come along too. Oi Vey, I'm going to need an extra suitcase just for the stuffed animals!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

Yup, Williamsburg is great. I like Jamestown, too. I was able to go there for the 400th anniversary festival in 2007. :woohoo: :dance3: It was awesome!

Digging for the Truth was hosted by a guy named Josh Bernstein (the guy with the Indiana Jones hat). Here's a picture of him. Does he look familiar?

:rotfl: Hey, be careful! They're charging extra for check-in luggage nowadays. :rotfl2:

He's a fireman??!! :faint: :faint:

Yup, he's a truck guy, not an engine guy. I guess there's a difference, one guy cuts holes in roofs, which would be him, the other guy puts the wet stuff on the red stuff. I love watching him drive the truck. He took me for a ride in it one day... :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:

Awww, you guys are so cute!! OK, so when's the wedding? :teeth:

:flower3: Thanks! He took me to Coney Island on my birthday last year (my 30th, so it was the BIG one) and we ate Nathan's Hot Dogs at the original stand, then we walked the boardwalk and rode the Cyclone rollercoaster and the Wonderwheel, oh, and oohed and awed at the baby walrus at the aquarium. It was perfect!!!!!!

Not for awhile I'm afraid, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks if you know what I mean... He's used to being a bachelor and is fiercely independent. So I'm breaking him in gently. Eventually he'll realize he needs me around. Even if it's just to eat our way around NYC and laugh at the wax figures at Madam Tussuad's. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Trust me, he's worth the wait.

The man actually enjoys Broadway plays. He went with me to see Phantom. Then he went with me to see South Pacific and still raves about it to this day, that was last year (also for my birthday, but not on my birthday, same week though). :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc He enjoys the Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast shows.

Oh my gosh! That'd be soooo cool! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Yup, to actually ride in something that helped us win the war against the axis powers would just make my day. The history that was involved with those planes. Yes, I have a slobbering love affair with a hunk of metal. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Just hope I don't rust it!

Yup, Williamsburg is great. I like Jamestown, too. I was able to go there for the 400th anniversary festival in 2007. :woohoo: :dance3: It was awesome!

Jamestown was cool too. I love the period dress and the blacksmith shops. I like all the carriages and horse drawn wagons. Makes you appreciate indoor plumbing and modern appliances! :cool1:

Eh, what's an extra $25? I can't life my suitcase anyway after surgery so I"m going to have to hire a hot guy, or my dad to do it. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
