Sigh, no MVMCP for me this year. I'm saving up for my trip in September. Which will be my after surgery trip. Unless we all decide to take a Unicorn trip to celebrate my tumor-less-ness! Hm, what do you think Disney will say to celebrating that? It's not typical and non-traditional. I like it!

I don't have a drinking addiction, but I can develop one. How much would I have to drink to be a certified addict? Do you think one drink a day would qualify me? Does Dr. Drew treat Disney addiction? What about my addiction to the Saddle Club and Brett Tucker? How about my Pierce Brosnan addiction? I also have a thing for wanting to pinch Tony Dovolani's butt. Does that mean I need therapy?

I'm so glad to have found you guys! I loved both series when I was younger, but I must say that I preferred BSC, probably because I loved kids and babysat a ton from the age of 11! I even started taking a "Kid Kit" with me to sitting jobs .

I must say that I am an enormous reading geek and tend to really overanalyze things sometimes (and remember really minute details...I was obsessed with these books and remember almost everything...I have no sisters so the girls were like "family" lol!). These are some questions I always wondered about, both while reading the books and a few years later:

1) Maybe the 80s were the good old days, but would people REALLY have trusted 5- and 3-year olds plus an infant with a 13-year old overnight? A baby alone is a ton of work for just an adult!

2) Did 13 seem really old to you when you were reading the books? I remember thinking, "Wow, I can't wait until I'm 13 and can run my own business". There is NO way that any of the 13-year olds I know are responsible enough to be president, VP, secretary, or treasurer of a business.

3) Seeing as the BSC was a business with clients, did they have to file income taxes? Did the IRS perform audits? Did they need permits for all those day camps/ art classes/ field trips they held? What about liability and FBI/ criminal record checks?

OK, so I'm bored right now sitting at a desk and I really needed to have a bit of fun! I'm just thinking about all the hoops I (gladly) had to jump through in order to volunteer with several groups that cater to children. I still have BSC books here and there around my house, but most of them were gotten rid of years ago. I wonder how the modern version would look?

Starrzone- Okay, maybe it was the 80s, but I really did babysit for lots of kids when I was that age! I made tons of money (for a teen/preteen) and even had a BSC of my own. I was Kristy, of course! Oh, and welcome!
