I might be a little too young, but can I join anyway? ;) . I graduated in 2006, but have been reading Sweet Valley & BSC books FOR FOREVER. I still do sometimes :].

Hahh, I loved the quizzes, I got Jessica, then Claudia, and Strawberry Shortcake. [:

Am I allowed in if I am already part of another click? I read the SVH books and a couple of TBC.

Good morning, I think....I've had exactly one hour of sleep since 5 AM yesterday morning. And for some reason I don't feel like I'm going to crash anytime soon. I had a nine hour long conversation with my boyfriend last night instead of sleeping. We have a baby on the way and we have a lot of things to talk about (we don't currently live together but we've made a decision that we're definitely going to gradually work towards that.)

Oh wow... what a fun thread!!

I loved SVH! Never read BSC. Graduated high school in 1990.

Ya know what series I loved even more than SVH? Cheerleaders... with Pres, Patrick, Mary Ellen, Olivia, Walt, Nancy...

OMG! I voted both. I love SVH and BSC. But I wasn't born in the 70s-- I was born in the 80s, however, I read all of these books. BSC was my favorite but I still have all of my old SVH books!

As far as Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, I watched both. Sabrina is still my favorite show. . Anyone remember Punky Brewster? I remember watching it with Soleil Moon Frye (who was also on Sabrina!).

Quiz Results:
BSC- I'm Claudia Kishi
Strawberry Shortcake- I'm Strawberry Shortcake!
SVH- I'm Elizabeth!
I hope I'm Unicorn Club material!

I never read Cheerleaders.....there was also a series set at a college (and it wasn't Sweet Valley University) that I read a lot but I don't remember what it was called and there was one with twin sisters that I think always had dessert of some type in the title and one with three sisters (one was named Nicole but I don't remember the other two.)

Oh WOW! I've got all sorts of warm fuzzies! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
We've really grown in numbers, huh?!

WELCOME EVERYONE! :welcome:

My girls love them. The younger version is Sweet Valley Kids and they have all of those as well. I got them started around 4 reading the SVK's.

That's so awesome. I'd forgotten about that series. I'm gonna try desperately to get my daughter hooked on SVK now. She really likes chapter books right now (she's 5)

....even now I find myself thinking about the hitch hiking ghost going home with them from the Haunted Mansion... I'm getting old, so I don't quite remember the details.... but they went on vacation, and one of the little sisters (I think?) thought that their hitch hiker followed her home... :hmghost: I used to love when shows went to Disney World or other such places on vacation :)

Ok, Krista, as I said in an earlier post, I found it! It was "Karen"!

Julez- Hey! No, I never did a TR. I am sooo busy! Read official intro. below!

Should we do official intros? I'll start...
I am Tracy, a waitress at a high end restaurant (very strict and not worth the headache sometimes, but I get to work with really cool people, most of whom are gay men!). I am newly married and took DH there for our hmoon. It was his first trip ever and I got him hooked! I was married before and came away with 2 dcs- ds (8) and dd (7). Ds is sweet and easy going and dd (love her dearly) is a high maintenance drama queen. They are 15 months apart! Oh, and I am also a full time student, studying to teach HS English. Just forget I said that, tho- I like to relax and not worry too much about grammar and punctuation. I save that for papers! Once I graduate and get settled, we might have a baby, but that won't be for a few more years. Oh, one more thing- we also have a 3 month old puppy and a 9 year old dog.

So, yeah, that's why there isn't a TR!

I think "Official Intros" would be great and greatly appreciated! Now I know your name is Tracy and I won't have to keep calling you "paint". Unless you want me too of course! ;)

I think it's great you're in school. I really want to go back and get a teaching degree. It was goal #1 before DD came along. But than DH and I seperated and I only had a quick graduation and a recession-proof job in mind. 5 years later, DH and I are celebrating 7 years this December, I've been in my field of medicine as a Certified Medical Assistant for 2-1/2 years, DD is 5yr5mo and I'm very unhappy in the med field!! I'd love to go back to my original dream of teaching Kindergarten through 2nd graders! These days I just get a taste of that through helping DDs kindergarten teacher with Computer Lab on Thursdays (my day off).

Oh, and if this doesn't qualify me for this club, I don't know what will...
I actually started my own BSC in 7th gr. I was rolling in the dough, too! Just call me Kristy!

:rotfl: Oh, dude! You're SO IN! :welcome:

I didn't know what the title meant....I was opening it , in the small chance the reference was to Charlie and Candy Mountain..

Yanno, the You-Tube unicorn spoof....check it out.. addictive and funny!

Ok, now I'm completely curious- what IS Charlie and the Candy Mountain?

I might be a little too young, but can I join anyway? ;) . I graduated in 2006, but have been reading Sweet Valley & BSC books FOR FOREVER. I still do sometimes :].

Sure, we'll take a "youngin'"! But when we start complaining about stretch marks, grey hairs, the extra 10 pounds, and our medical visits- don't give up on us! :scared:

Am I allowed in if I am already part of another click? I read the SVH books and a couple of TBC.

Of course! :welcome:I've read along a bit on Team Focker @ times and think the whole concept is just hilarious!

Awwww, Sass! Sounds like a rough night. Babies really stir up the pot, that's for sure, I could go into PAGES of the drama in our lives w/the arrival of my DStepSon and DD, but I'll just end with this- they're 5 & 6 now (1-1/2 yr apart!) and everything has settled down so much that when I look back to those days of DD being a bun in the oven, I can do nothing but this: :sad2: It's really amazing how life works out. It's worth all the drama to arrive at a place where the kid(s) are happy and thriving. I'm here for ya! :goodvibes

Suzie Zoo :welcome: First of all, I LOVED SUZIE'S ZOO and the Current catalogs! Secondly, I THRILLED to hear about someone liking the "Cheerleaders" series as well! I loved it too and am so sad now I ever gave those up! :sad2: I was a cheerleader, so of course I loved reading about their routines, etc., but the stories were fun as well! I think my faves were Patrick & Mary Ellen and Olivia.

:welcome: Rora! I have Punky Brewster all ready on my Netflix for the DD to fall in love with! Yea, you're SO IN!

Sass, I remember the ones with the desserts too! They were always on the cover holding one right? I vaguely remember a title with them holding banana splits? They were twins too, I think. I really was obsessed with being a twin back then. Anyone remember the show, Double Trouble? Loved it!

So I have SOOOOOOOO much to do this weekend, it's rediculous. We leave in 4 days for the WORLD! We're driving, so I'm having some anxiety over what to buy for food.... but I'll lament more on that in my PTR. Gotta post pix today too of the trip binder. ARGH! SO MUCH TO DO!

But first things first- finish up at work and go home!

L8R!

Good morning, members & lurkers!

Quite the busy day yesterday after work. Groceries, housework, baby-sitting my husband. (He had some buddies over for a bonfire. )

Today I've got dishes, laundry, packing, and general anxiety over the fact that we're leaving in a few days.

Yesterday I watched two movies, Game Plan w/the Rock.... and License to Wed w/Robin Williams & Mandy Moore :happytv: Both very good.

Hope you're having a good weekend! It was really nice yesterday but today looks coooooooold!

Morning! Yesterday was pretty uneventful. Waiting on a friend of dh's to come down, but he blew us off! Hmph! I cleaned the bathrooms for nothing!;) We eneded up doing some shopping and getting dinner. We started to watch Forgetting Sarah MArshall but eneded up going to bed.
Julez- That baby in License to Wed gave me nightmares!

Hey all! It sounds like it was a movie weekend! We watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Angelina is a beast! Brad is just  .

I don't want to go to work this week..anyone up for running away to Disney World!

Oh me me me me! Oh wait- I'm already doing that.... ;) But seriously, I want to start planning a trip in May for DD's 6th but DH doesn't want any of that... I'll just have to keep it a dream until I see the tax return.... I LOVE Mr. & Mrs. Smith. SUCH a good flick! And I don't think AJ is a beast, I think she's beautiful! BUT I do think she's a home wrecker, for sure.

I WISH DH's friends had blown him off. Ugh. Had a nice drunk DH to take care of and people to boot out of the yard last night at 1am. Yuck. I'm so over those days :sad2: but this is a friend from DH's old days and they recently reconnected. I told him this morning that it's been nice seeing him and all but it's not returning to what it was 5 years ago, DH agree.

And those babies?! OMG, hilarious!!! I want one! Ugly, but funny.... :lmao: And Forgetting Sarah Marshall... O.M.G. DH and I laughed hysterically with that one....sooooooo funny.

Julez- Yep, full frontal male nudity really starts a movie off! Drunk dh=fun! My dh is so funny when he's had a few- very affectionate! I am kinda' over that, too. The last time we went out, I only had a few drinks and just felt terrible the next day (okay, one of those drinks was a shot of tequila. I ran into one of my classmates, a 21 year old guy, and he bought a shot for dh and I. what could I do?!?). Luckily, a cheeseburger and vanilla shake fixed me right up. Still. I am too old!
Rora- Never seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith but I am not overly fond of either of them. Give me Vince Vaughn over Pitt anyday. He looks like he knows how to have fun!
sparklespaz-Oh,and try not too get too frightened if we ever talk about childbirth. It isn't pretty...
sweetandsassy- Congrats on the baby! Like Julez said, Iam sure it will all work out. Life doesn't have to be conventional to be perfect. I am proof of that! I go to school and work with people in their late teens and early twenties. I am 32 and married with 2 kids!

Well, yesterday's cleaning carried over into a decluttering today! I also went to the gym and took the pups for a walk- but later we went to DQ for blizzards, so I am pretty sure those cancelled each other out. It was such a relaxing weekend that I don't want to go back to the real world tomorrow. I also have midterms this week! Looking forward to next weekend already, though. We are meeting dh's friend and his dd at Six Flags and taking our dcs as well. So long away...

I got excited when I saw the title as I knew exactly what it meant! I read both series and LOVED them!I was just thinking about these books the other day. We should have trivia questions to answer. That would be fun! Who wants to make the 1st quiz?

I took the which character are you. I am Maria. Anyone remember her? I don't!:confused3

You are Maria. Maria was an actor when she was little but quite and decided to become a regular student. SHe is in the Drama club and is still a great actor. She is smart, responsible, and trustworthy. She has a great future ahead of her.

Then I did the BSC and am Dawn. Woo-hoo! She and Stacey were my absolute favorites.
I used to wish my name was Dawn. I still think it's a very pretty name.

You are most like Dawn Schafer! You're laid-back, confident, and love the beach! You also eat healthy and have strong beliefs about certain things. Sometimes you can be self-righteous about them and get carried away. Despite your relatively easy-going nature, you are quite passionate and intense.

Well, though I'm young, I love Sweet valley twins!
I have a whole section of the middle school ones on my bookshelf. I got them all from my older sister, and they were so fun to read, especially the chillers :)

I rememember Maria. If I remember right, she had black hair and was gorgeous.
I meant to design a logo this weekend but just didn't get around to it. I had to sleep most of the day Saturday and then yesterday was football day. My Broncos beat Jody's (my boyfriend) Bucs....first time I really haven't cared who won. And I burnt my hand. I had made tea and was trying to ladle it out of the pot I made it in....I managed to ladle some of it right in between my thumb and index finger....the tea had just finished boiling and my hand is still sore.

Hey Sass! I was wondering what happened to you yesterday! I'm sorry about your hand, I HATE getting burned! If you can't get it under running room temp water right away- only slightly cool, than soaking overnight in ice water will usually work. Probably too late now, huh? :guilty:

:welcome: Dolphinrescuegirl!

I have to remember to update our members list before I go to bed tonight. Got a loooong day ahead of me after work.

Which is where I'm headed now. l8r!:scared:

I worked all weekend at the 2nd job. Thankfully I'm off from both jobs on Friday and Saturday this week. Hallelujah! I really need a break. But, the good news is that I got a promotion at the part-time job. Not sure how much of a raise comes with it since my manager has to get it from corporate, but I'll take it. It will mean some extra $$ to help me buy a whole new wardrobe as I'm losing weight.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I've read SVT, SVH, SVU, and BSC books! I used to collect them. And I was so mad when I let a friend borrow BSC #2 and she never returned it. I was addicted to all of them.

Although, it's been a very long time, and I remember the characters, but I doubt I'd be very good at any kind of trivia.

I think I'm going to try to find that Special Edition BSC in WDW!! That would be a real blast from the past!

Kell- Congrats on the weight loss! What a good reason to buy new clothes!
