My brother-in-law is a major in the Royal Marines. He is not in the Middle East but still has one of the hardest jobs imaginable.
His first task was to inform the family of a young royal marine commando that their son had been killed in action.
His second task, which is still on-going is to council a young lady whose husband died in a tragic helicopter accident. He has to arrange the young mans military funeral.
The young lady is 8 1/2 months pregnant.

I hope that the coalition forces go on and win this war so that those who have perished will not have done so in vain.

Please tell your brother in law that I thank him for his efforts in this war. He's got an enormously difficult task, and I hope he can bring some comfort to those he has to deliver such terrible news to.

We will win this war, and we will forever owe a debt of gratitude to those who fought it (in all capacities) and to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I too, appreciate the work you brother-in-law does. Such difficult work it is.

I also appreciate each and every one of our allies in the UK. I have, in fact, adopted a young British soldier and send him care packages.

I too thank your BIL for all the work he does. That is such difficult work he does. I am sure that those who have lost their lives will not have been in vain.

I echo the sentiments of the others here. Please thank your brother for the very difficuly job he must perform.
