yeah fingers crossed. What I'm going to suggest before we leave is that the two up front stay awake and the two in the back sleep. That way, whoever is driving has someone to help navigate and keep them awake. Hope it works out that way.

Yes, Kyra is marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in Nov 2010 - first Oregon school to ever attend I'll probably do a TR for that too on the community board. Roxy and I are going for moral support but aren't chaperoning so we'll get the fun of NYC and seeing her perform without the stress

They have a tour package set up for all of us that includes hotel, breakfast & dinner, a broadway show (TBA), a tour of Groud Zero, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.

Oh yes! And when I'm in my pirate costume I'll get to say "Aaarrrggghhhh!!!" when I'm slapping it

Good call with the driving, keep it on a rotation and don't zone out. Just gotta make sure nobody tries to stick feet with stinky socks up front from the back seat

That is AWESOME!! What an honor. The high school marching band at the school I went to got to do that. I had already dropped out of marching band at that point (head band director issues) so I didn't get to go. That's good that you guys aren't going to have to deal with chaperoning. Just there to have fun! Can't wait to read all about it!

Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I know my feet don't stink and Becca's don't. Chris' usually don't either unless he's had a long day on his feet at work. Not so sure about James' feet. I'll have to ask Becca. Maybe he just won't be allowed to wear shoes.

Well, the plan is to drive half a day, through the night and then all day and stop somewhere that night and drive the rest of the way the next day so it will (in theory) only take us about 2 and a half days to drive out there and back. We'll have to see how it goes.

Yeah I'm really looking fwd to it. I'm realizing that too which is why I want to get a UG for Hollywood and Vegas so I don't miss something really cool.

ooh so what part of Hawaii and how long are you going? We went to Oahu...very touristy but very pretty. I'd definitely like to go back and do some of the other islands.

maui, were only going to go for 1 week in Inlaws time share, but now prob, 2 weeks my SIL just moved there so we will spend a week with her as well.

Very cool! May is a great time of year to vacation.

we hope so we are leaving as soon as BIL gets out of college that year.

Thank you, she's got the perfect mix of excitement and apprehension right now. And she gets to help me run the Band Boosters Can/Bottle Drive for 4 Sundays to help raise money for the trip

We'll DVR it too and I'll let y'all know where she is when I've watched it

It is pretty cool - too bad it didn't work our for you to be able to do it when you were in HS. Darned personality conflicts And yes, I'm very happy we're not having to chaperone - whoohoo!

Oh yes - make sure you know the status of your traveling companion's feet. I went on many a road trip when I was younger and all it takes is one person. Worst was a Texas road trip in an old Caddilac Eldorado + 5 guys + one case of trench foot
