I've really grown to love The Trip podcast. I was a viewer from the beginning and appreciate how hard JL and Teresa have worked to find a soul and a real vibe for the show. I'm also happy with the addition of Jackie. Here's the deal: I felt bad when T felt she had to explain at the beginning of the show that she isn't being mean to Jackie. I don't understand how a few viewers could see that and particularly how they could email that kind of complaint in to the show. These three women have very different personalities, backgrounds and experiences. But they are all professionals and decent people. Teresa is witty and loves to speak her mind. Its what makes Teresa a huge asset to the DIS. No one here is fake or saccharine. It would be a disaster if they tried to be. They can't all hold hands and sing a chorus of kumbaya from the get go. Their interaction is what makes the show interesting. The Trip needs different perspectives and personalities to make it spark. Adding Jackie to the mix will ultimately be a great move. And kudos to Jackie because it isn't easy to be the new kid on the block. She seems to be taking the transition in stride and is comfortable being herself. Ladies: keep on doing what you're doing. And don't look back! :-)

Just watched the beginning, to see what you were talking about. I did post here that I agreed with Jackie's calling of the desk due to the rooms next door's noise during her stay at the Wynham, and that went against what Teresa felt, but I would never e-mail her, or the show, unless it was REALLY serious, and I felt STRONGLY about something. I've said before that I thought this WAS the place to calmly and rationally express each of our own opinions, and if mine differ from hers, or anybody's, so be it. So I totally agree with what yo're saying, what they all said on the show (I feel each and every podcaster and the different mixes of them all brings a different skill and personality set to the table, and each show is different), and that's why I enjoy them all. Mix and match. Jackie also said that. I also felt the humor behind the "luggage being magically whisked onto property by Magical Express and pixie dust" that was being discussed, never felt any rancor at all. Kind of like people in the past didn't like Craig's humor, or felt he was pissed off or flat, but he always cracked me up. So Team - thanx for being empathetic, but keep up the great work!!

EDIT TO ADD - Just saw another part I did not previously - Teresa said it was hurtful to have to deal with comments like that, and I totally get that, and again - another reason I would not e-mail unless it was REALLY serious, would not want to hurt anybody's feelings.

My response, too. When you've had a really bad next door neighbour hotel experience in the past, you just learn to call it in because the alternative of ignoring it and hoping it goes away never works. And Teresa wasn't being personal or nasty in last week's show. That's the key. Just a difference of opinion with a little of T's signature spice humour. A little hot sauce. Tabasco :-) I love Teresa. And I'm growing to really like Jackie. She's been thrown into a new environment with an established cast and has found a way to own her space and be herself. Loved her Minnie Mouse ears today. All props to her for sporting those babies. You have to be true to yourself and have a little fun. So just hoping the same courtesy can be extended to Teresa as well. :-)

I know from personal experience that it can be really hard when someone doesn't understand your sense of humor or the way you interact with others, and I was so sad to hear Teresa is dealing with some negative feedback. As a "long-time" viewer, I feel like I've come to understand Teresa a bit, and I know that what might seem like meanness is her way of showing affection sometimes. I hate that people took that as her having a problem with Jackie's presence on the show and then felt a need to point that out.
I'm just happy to hear that Jackie understood Teresa's intentions and wasn't offended, and I hope that now that Teresa has addressed it on the show, people understand what's going on and will no longer send negative feedback about a perceived problem that doesn't actually exist.

I think that Jackie's enthusiasm and "pixie dust" attitude works really well as a contrast to Teresa's snarkiness, and I hope that neither one of them feels a need to hide their personalities as a result of some unexpected feedback. (And of course, I also hope JL continues to add her personality to the mix, but she wasn't really as much a part of this "issue")

Keep up the good work, ladies!

I feel quite surprised that viewers keep writing in telling various people that they are too mean to other people on the show. Do they really think that if it was actual tension or disharmony that Pete wouldn't step in and change the group around?

I was on Jackie's side about the hotel room too, I absolutely would have called the front desk rather than knocking on the wall. I found Teresa's reply so funny though and liked that Jackie didn't back down from why she chose to call the desk. Jackie certainly didn't seem bothered by Teresa's reaction.

I posted on Teresa's wall to express basically the same sentiments as you've all outlined above.

I feel bad that both Craig and Teresa have had to "explain themselves" in the past week.

I love them both and think they're fabulous, and so many of us do, so I hope they listen to the good and weed out the bad and don't take it on board.

Yeah. This.
I don't think Pete's stupid. I'm sure he puts some thought into the personalities that he puts on a given show. If he was willing to put Jackie on The Trip, then obviously he knew she could handle Teresa's personality. I think that if there is a problem with interactions between members of the team, it will be dealt with before the viewers know anything about it.

I'm so embarrassed for all the people who don't understand sarcasm/satire that they thought Craig and Theresa were ever being "mean".
Same thing happened when JL started. People were like "Theresa must REALLY hate JL".

I love that they all have different opinions! Its obvious that they all get along and the contrast between T and Jackie is hilarious! It adds a lot into the show and I feel like the show has really been taken to the next level.

And lest anyone think that Jackie is too upbeat or too positive to be around Theresa, let's not forget that JL is the one who made spatula people as a ratings system for trip reviews.

I'm convinced Theresa threw them right in the garbage :D

Yeah, it seemed a little too convenient that they got lost in the studio revamp

Too, funny! Loving that look on T's face. Priceless. Thanks for taking the time to give us those!

I stongly disagree with Jackies actions about calling the front desk... Her decision to make tho.

I have not seen this weeks episode yet but I have seen last weeks. I did not feel like Theresa was being mean at all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think Theresa is funny and I love how they all interact with each other and can pick on each other.
