The TRIP of all Trips... Ana's MAW PTR... *TR STARTED* Link- Post #1901 Pg. 127

They are brainwashing us! :rotfl: We don't have TV anymore so I haven't seen ANY Disney channel in almost 2 months, but previously we just watched Playhouse Disney. Was it on there too?

Wow, good for you with no TV. I think Claire woulddie. LOL! She likes it on even in the background,,so does Skip for that matter. They play alot of the videos between shoes.

Have you watched Camp Rock? (we haven't) but Juliana met Alyson Stoner yesterday! LOL
.

Oh yes. We have it on DVD. I think she likes it more than High School Musical. I gave it to her as a gift when she got her tonsils out last summer and she watches it all the time.

YAYAAYAYAYAYA!! for 6 months!!! That's great news!!!

Kathy, you're so super sweet!!! What a great way to show you care!

You know, when I first met Tim here on the DIS, they had stayed at the CSR and I just fell in love with that sweet little girl. Since Lord only knows when or IF I'll be come a grandma, this is my adopted niece. :)

Kathy - that was so stinkin' sweet of you!! :lovestruc

Heather

Thank you, Heather.

Kathy IS so kind!!! Juliana loved her little treats!

HEY!!!!! :headache:

I will have some pics up tomorrow. You know the weekends are hard for me! :lmao:

Kathy is sooo sweet!

She is awesome! ::yes::

Tim, you are giving me a BIG head. It is easy to be nice when the people you are being nice to are such great people.

And you know I have to give you grief on the pictures. I love to give you a hard time. Plus, I saw a few pics on FB. ;)

WAIT A SEC!!!! You don't have a TV?

They play JoBro songs in-between shows sometimes.

Nope we don't! Since we have moved we just haven't bothered with ordering cable. It's an extra expense and we don't really miss it at all. The only thing I kinda miss is Playhouse Disney in the morning for Henry, but we have Netflix, which we can stream through the Wii. It works.

We also don't have a microwave. We are turning into a bunch of hippies, I tell ya. ;)

Hi!

Just jumpin on the bandwagon! What a time you have been through and Im so glad you are getting a MAW trip!!! Your little girlie is so cute!!

We went on my nephew's MAW trip back in April. He had a medullablastoma that was removed. He has been cancer free for 4 months now! He has a lot of therapy to get back his strengh and coodination, but is hanging in there! We had an AWESOME trip - please let me know if you have any questions!

I would definately get your family to come and visit you at GKTW. When we were there, my DH and I stayed at WDW and came to visit GKTW. We were allowed to eat 1 meal and have 1 ice cream while we were there - they would not allow us to purchase any additional meals. We came on the Christmas PArty night and it was AWESOME!!!!! We also enjoyed the pool several times - it was soo cool!!!!!!

we lived in Blankistan with no TV for years. we didn't miss it either. microwaves are unneccessary- just requires 10 minutes of forethought. the oven works great! :thumbsup2

Morning Tim and YAH!!! for 6 months !!
Morning! (a day or 2 later!)

6 month appointments is another HUGE step for her to be 'cured'!

Oh yes. We have it on DVD. I think she likes it more than High School Musical. I gave it to her as a gift when she got her tonsils out last summer and she watches it all the time.
I've never seen it. I think it is a little to 'old' for Juliana at this point. But I remember seeing commercials on the Disney channel that had Alyson Stoner in them.

You know, when I first met Tim here on the DIS, they had stayed at the CSR and I just fell in love with that sweet little girl. Since Lord only knows when or IF I'll be come a grandma, this is my adopted niece. :)
You were one of the first people that responded to my first post on the DIS.

You can be her 'Auntie'.. that what she calls all her aunts. :)

Tim, you are giving me a BIG head. It is easy to be nice when the people you are being nice to are such great people.
LOL Well stop reading my posts about you then! :lmao:

And you know I have to give you grief on the pictures. I love to give you a hard time. Plus, I saw a few pics on FB. ;)
UpLoading the softball pics today.. My weekends are nuts(good thing, means I'm making a living! )

Got cha! I could probably go without TV too but I think I would miss the (poor) weather forecasts and my sports.

We also don't have a microwave. We are turning into a bunch of hippies, I tell ya. ;)

Glad to hear you nephew is on the road to recovery! It is really amazing how kids bounce back.

We started working on a schedule last night (in my next update). It is VeRy tentative but at least it is a start. I'll be looking at it day & night (knowing me) and making tweaks. Next step is to book some ADRs!!!

I think we are going to ask Mel's cousin to visit us at GKTW. The problem is, according to google maps, they are about a 50-60 minute drive from GKTW. So I guess they would have to visit on the weekend. I'm interested to hear about the GKTW Christmas party. With the schedule I just made, I Xed out the Christmas Party. :confused3

we lived in Blankistan with no TV for years. we didn't miss it either. microwaves are unneccessary- just requires 10 minutes of forethought. the oven works great! :thumbsup2
With internet, TV could be so yesteryear! :rotfl2:

Ever cook microwave popcorn in an oven? :confused3

Last night I sat down and tried to get a schedule started. I'm sure this will change numerous times but hey, it's a start. I need to get some ADRs booked and I'm even thinking about a few surprises too.(Melody has been visiting my TR and I told her about this PTR so I don't know if she will be peeking?) So here it is:

Depending on extending the trip on our own, this is what it looks like right now. I'll take any, all suggestions on what you think.

I read your previous TR so I remember your darling daughter.:goodvibes You have an absolutely beautiful family and I'm sure they're just as thrilled as you to be returning to Disney! Your plans look great, lots of parties! You can't go wrong there, right? The princess tea party looks like such fun and I'll bet your DD won't want to leave. I've heard it's fabulous. We like Kona for breakfast but always do the Ohana character breakfast on our last day, the characters are so fun and you can't beat those Mickey waffles! Good luck with the rest of your planning and I'm looking forward to reading the rest.:goodvibes

ETA: Wonderful news about your DD's appointments too.:) I'm sure she'll appreciate that she doesn't have to go so often as will you and your wife. Best wishes, she's adorable.:goodvibes

The Christmas Party was really FUN!!! I even met a few other Dis'ers there who were on MAW trips. The dinner at the Gingerbread house is totally Christmas dinner (plus the kids stuff). They decorate outside too -Christmas trees, snowmen etc...it was really cute!!

They set up all kinds of stations - cookie decorating, cotton candy, snow cones and the best of all a visit with SANTA!!!! The kids all got to go and sit on Santa's lap and then they each got to pick a gift! Our crew picked out Jenga, pack of cars, football, a fur real kitty and mr potato head (the oldest didnt want to pick a present, but she could have!). There was a parade with Mayor Clayton and a few other random characters too and then lots of music and dancing and it was even snowing - lol!! As guests, DH and I were able to participate in everything too which was so fun!!

My MAW nephew was too exhausted to come to the party, but his siblings were able to go!

20100425_82.jpg

It was one of the highlights of the trip for our crew - lol - they ranged in age from 2-15 years old. Spending time at the village was awesome!! And, we were able to move through the parks more quickly because we really didnt have to wait in any lines - you get a pass that sends you to the front of the line!

Let me know if you have any other questions! This will be an awesome experience for you!!!!!

Exactly! Some foods seem to heat even quicker on the stove versus the microwave even.

With internet, TV could be so yesteryear! :rotfl2:

Ever cook microwave popcorn in an oven? :confused3

It's true, almost everything is available online now. Even Playhouse Disney, I just am too lazy to hook the computer up to the TV...:rolleyes1

Dude. Trash the microwave popcorn. Grab half a stick of butter, put it on a pot and put in a couple kernels of popcorn. Wait until they pop - that means your pan is hot. Add enough kernels to cover the bottom - let it pop, remove from heat when the popping slows.

Best popcorn EVER!!!!

Your plans are looking really good to me! I cannot recall - you are doing BOTH SW and US/IOA or do you have to pick one or the other? What would you add in if you can extend the trip?

Your plans are looking good. How exciting to have dates to start planning for and to get excited about.

I read your previous TR so I remember your darling daughter.:goodvibes You have an absolutely beautiful family and I'm sure they're just as thrilled as you to be returning to Disney!
:welcome:
Thank you for the kind words..

We are all thrilled about going back but we haven't had much time to think about it.

Your plans look great, lots of parties! You can't go wrong there, right? The princess tea party looks like such fun and I'll bet your DD won't want to leave. I've heard it's fabulous.
I need to find a TR that talks about the princess tea party. I really hope it is worth it... it is so expensive.

We like Kona for breakfast but always do the Ohana character breakfast on our last day, the characters are so fun and you can't beat those Mickey waffles! Good luck with the rest of your planning and I'm looking forward to reading the rest.:goodvibes
We have only ate at 'Ohana for dinner. That sounds like it could be a fun breakfast. They serve the food family style right?

ETA: Wonderful news about your DD's appointments too.:) I'm sure she'll appreciate that she doesn't have to go so often as will you and your wife. Best wishes, she's adorable.:goodvibes
Thank you!

Oh great... you had an awesome time. :lmao: I had convinced myself that we were going to skip this but after looking at your pics and description I might have to reconsider. Plus I love Christmas dinner... MMMMMMM

They set up all kinds of stations - cookie decorating, cotton candy, snow cones and the best of all a visit with SANTA!!!! That sounds like so much fun!!!

How crowded was the party? I have a feeling that with us (most likely) going in early December the party is going to be that much more crowded.

My MAW nephew was too exhausted to come to the party, but his siblings were able to go!

Love this.. the kids look like they were having a great time!!!!

I am hoping to 'fly' through the parks(well at least the rides)... maybe that will give us some down time to relax (we never do that on vacation!)

Let me know if you have any other questions! This will be an awesome experience for you!!!!![/QUOTE]
Thank you for all the great info!

I'm sure I'll have more questions! :rotfl:

Exactly! Some foods seem to heat even quicker on the stove versus the microwave even.
Yes.. that is true.

It's true, almost everything is available online now. Even Playhouse Disney, I just am too lazy to hook the computer up to the TV...:rolleyes1
That isn't hard... 1 cable DONE! Plus I read your DH uses macs.... even easier!

Dude. Trash the microwave popcorn. Grab half a stick of butter, put it on a pot and put in a couple kernels of popcorn. Wait until they pop - that means your pan is hot. Add enough kernels to cover the bottom - let it pop, remove from heat when the popping slows.

Sounds delish! MY DW would have to do this though, since I rarely eat popcorn. (I hate when it gets stuck in my teeth) popcorn:: :headache:

Your plans are looking really good to me! I cannot recall - you are doing BOTH SW and US/IOA or do you have to pick one or the other? What would you add in if you can extend the trip?
We get 1 day @SW and 2 days at US/IOA...
If we were able to extend, I think we would skip DHS on our arrival day. Sunday we would spend the day with Melody's family. Then on Tuesday & Wednesday do parks. But who knows if that is even an option. :confused3

Just popping in to say Hi!!!!
HI ROSIE!!! You get any storms today? We had a few rumbles of thunder and some rain this afternoon but the storms weren't heavy.

Your plans are looking good. How exciting to have dates to start planning for and to get excited about.
HI!!!!!

Well these dates aren't official yet. Our MAW will not tell us any info till OCTOBER. :scared1: But it seems like these will be the dates (I hope!)

We have to get planning if we want any chance to get some elusive dining like CRT or something like that.:goodvibes

That is OK since I'm dreaming and thinking about a trip and we don't even have confirmation of my dd getting a wish ;). Just really hoping that it happens for her.

Wednesday Dec 1st

  • Arrive in Orlando
  • Pick up rental
  • Head to GKTW
  • 3pm orientation
  • Possibly head to DHS to see the Osbourn lights

Ok...now you know I gotta type in pink for ya. :goodvibes :rotfl2:

I love this schedule! You should have time to hang out at GKTW and should be able to catch the Osbourn lights.... (except...are you going to use one of the three days of tickets for the short amt of time there?)...I guess I need to keep reading and see. :)

Thursday Dec 2nd

  • Disney Character Photos 8am-8:30 GKTW
  • Morning head to Universal or IOA
  • Then go to MVMCP

I think the characters are also out from 9-9:30 or even later, too - so you could sleep in some, if you wanted.

My only concern here is that you may be doing too much this day? If you want to stay at the MVMCP till late.

As far as the GKTW vs MK Christmas Party thoughts...I think I would lean toward making sure you go to the GKTW Christmas party when you come back to Disney next time...and if you are planning to do that, then I would do the MVMCP...since you are not always able to do that...especially with the button. The button will allow you to catch lots of characters at the party, which is a huge bonus for the party (since the character lines are normally pretty long for parties)...But I agree with Wendy, the GKTW party is a don't miss - at some point.

Friday December 3rd

  • Perfectly Princess Tea Party @ Grand Floridan 10:30a-12p
  • Visit some resorts to see Christmas Decorations
  • Hang out at GKTW
  • Pirates & Princess Party @ GKTW 7:30p-8:30p

Love this schedule! Sleeping in a bit, I hope. And relaxing! The party should be fun. :)

Saturday December 4th

  • US or Sea World or (Epcot & MK most likely)
  • Mayor Clayton's birthday party GKTW 7:45-8:30

Here is day 2 of Disney... :)

Sunday December 5th

  • Either SW or US or
  • Meet up with Mel's family either at their house, DTD, or at GKTW later in the day
  • World's biggest Candyland game @ GKTW 7:30-8:30

This sounds like fun! I hope you get Mel's family to meet you guys at GKTW. They will be very blessed to be able to see it and hang out there - and you could all enjoy some ice cream and fun there!

Monday December 6th

  • Character photos @ GKTW 8-8:30a
  • MK possibly Epcot too?
  • Wishes @ 8pm

So you are doing Epcot/MK twice?

Tuesday December 7th

  • Maybe breakfast at Kona
  • Flight home

Kona...yum! Tonga toast? Yum!!!!

Depending on extending the trip on our own, this is what it looks like right now. I'll take any, all suggestions on what you think.

My thoughts are above in pink... :)
