I think we will be okay as far as the snow for our trip. I had been concerned about driving through the grapevine in the snow. I am so glad to find out that isn't going to be a real concern.

So, the latest from the land of argh why didn't I start this yesterday.....

I was is a dither last night. I was sure the suitcases got put where they belong after the last trip and when I looked they were not there. I was immediately in the where on earth did we put it mode. Loren and I went out into the wet, cold, and dark backyard to look in the shed. No, my suitcases are not in there either. So, I figured that I would find them this morning and last night after Scotty finished his training on his bicycle in the bicycle room he came out with the suitcases. The one place I didn't look. Thank you honey.

So, today I woke up at the way too early time of 4am and decided that I needed a few things at the store like Ziplocs so I went out in the oh no it is too cold for here weather. Defrosted my van and took my hero to work. I came home intending to work my rear off and get everything packed and got the worst headache. So I laid down to get rid of it. Now I am getting ready to go out the door and go get those last minute things. I guess I woke up at 4am because my body is preparing for tomorrow. We are leaving at 4:30am.

I used to be scared to death of thunderstorms when I was a kid, now I am like you and I dare it. My girls are still afraid of it. We hardly ever see the big storms not like you do in the central valley or in the midwest.

It was 39 degrees and pouring down rain last night and snowing on all of the surrounding mountains. I just am glad that we don't have to face snow storms in the grapevine.

I do miss the big thunderstorms of Cheyenne, although our dog hates them. He ruined one of our tents when trip trying to inside (by climbing up and over) to get away from the noise!!!

Oh I totally forgot about the weather on the Grapevine, I'm glad you checked and everything is a go!!

Jeesh!!! I forgot about the arguing kids and we'll have 2 extra's with us, ugh!

Woo hoo! It's sunny right now! Chilly (41 degrees), but sunny!! And everything seems clean and fresh because the rain washed out all the muck. It will probably be a really nice day at DLR tomorrow. Not hot. Cool. Comfortable. Clean air. Should be good!

I think I am still going to get a poncho to wear at the rainy bicycle races. I will have plenty of chances to wear the hiking boots and poncho for photo ops.
