The Top Three Meet Dis-nee (CMO Contest, Part Three)

Over and above my regular voting, I do pledge that for each Reality Contest Event DIS winner (IMHO), I will vote an additional 20 times (that's at least 100 votes!).Yep, whomever I think does the best stroller, towel, noise, park and face, will get additional votes from me!* After all, it is a contest!* I like voting for personality but will also award votes for winning the 5 events!

I think you're on the right track, Marshay! :thumbsup2

I have to say: I'm starting to feel that it was 'kinda silly to open voting before the actual reality-show-style competitions begin, since that's what this round of the contest supposedly is all about...

(That said, I plan to remain loyal...)

I'm just wondering (aloud!) if maybe this phase could have been planned a little better, since -- ultimately -- the voting system seems a bit backwards and doesn't really do the contestants any justice! :confused3

Glad it wasn't just me wondering why we're voting again now when the fun part hasn't begun. Doesn't really make sense? :confused3
Backwards is the right word....but at least the sponsors have remained consistent.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3:

I tried to get on at home last night and every time I logged in and tried to reply it kept making me log in again. It would never let me post.

So...

Disgeeks: We love Woody's Cowboy Camp. My DD 4 is in love with Jessie. We arrived 5 minutes before the show and hung out near the Country Bears. When the wagon and characters make their way up the street, we just walked beside them and made sure to stay near one of the cowgirls. My daughter is not shy at all and puts herself right in the front. She gets piced every time to do the hobby horse race and ends up dancing with one of the cowgirls. It is so fun to watch!

Marshay: I love your Disney ABC album! I will have to put that on my list. I can't see your food sculpture pics at work. Now I can't wait to get home so that I can log in and check them out.

KigerKat: Loved the video you did of Tripp! I love how he yelled "CMO" at the end. He is such a ham. Did you win something from the station?

Kenny: I would love to meet you guys at B&C for a Sink Off! But....we will be in Epcot on Saturday and then meeting my in-laws at DTD at 6pm. I will be there in spirit. We will be at the MK all day on Sunday if anyone else will be there.

Cat: How exciting that you are staying through Saturday! I admire your spontenaity! You will be such a good cheerleader for the competition.

Ann: Congratulations on your business! It is wonderful to read that things are starting to fall into place nicely. You must be so proud!

Mrs. Fleagle: I looked at Eric's website yesterday. You have such a beautiful family! I love the matching sweatshirts!

BTM: Great pic of Tripp! I like the campaign flyers. How is LTM?

Justin: Have a safe trip down to Orlando today! I hope you were not up too late finishing your packing. I can imagine you must be running on adrenaline. This journey is so exciting!

A big HELLO to everyone else!

I love how supportive and honest you all are. It is so refreshing to know that honestly nice people do exist.

Ok, I need to schedule some meetings, do some filing, blah, blah, blah...

I was thinking last night how it's too bad that only one person will be chosen CMO. Then I realized, the three of you are already winners. You are getting a trip to WDW where you will be treated like VIPs. This is something that Disney does best and few people get to experience (at this level anyway). Receiving the royal treatment from Disney was big part of what made last year's dream job contest so special.

True, one of you will get to go on and relive the experience a few more times and will get to interact with park guests as a representative of Disney. I can tell you that that is an awesome experience (as well as a big responsibility).

So, do your best and good luck with the competition, but remember to stop every once in a while and enjoy the experience for what it is. You've overcome fierce competition to get where you are.

Last year had 25 winners, this year has 3. :cool1: :yay:

Too funny how real the road trip is to me......I was actually asking my family, "Where should we take everyone while they are here?" :lmao:

My DH has not been hugely interested in this thread, but last night when I was telling him about the road trip, he finally agreed that this is such a neat thing we've got going on. He said, "So are

they coming here?". Made me wish you all really were coming for a visit. This virtual stuff is for the birds! I'm madly planning all of the fun things we can do while you are here.
Oh, good! I'm so glad that folks are so enthusiastic about our "Virtual Road Trip"! :goodvibes

If you haven't yet "RSVP'd" and forwarded your location to MadBrad, don't forget that the deadline is Friday, April 18.

Here's a list of our participants thus far. (Please let me know if I've left anyone off of the list or included anyone in error. If so, it certainly wasn't intentional...)

And, one RSVP "no," since kennythepirate (KTP) will be out of town. (Although...... time for some shameless promotion ;) ... If you'd like to forward something to Cat, Madbrad or me, we'd be happy to post it on your behalf once the Party Bus passes through your town. No worries, though, if it's just not possible. :flower3: If you're at all like me, then there are a bazillion things that must get done before your trip to the World. ...Have I mentioned before that packing is such a beast??? :faint:

I vote for a Grand Gathering right after Thanksgiving at WDW!!

A Grand Gathering sounds great! Maaaaan, if it becomes a reality, I really hope I can make it work for the DISgeeks' family finances and schedule! (BTW, you've picked an irresistibly good time of the year to go -- during the holiday spectacle, yet right after the Thanksgiving crowds have dispersed!

I so appreciated reading these posts.....they put into words how I have been feeling.

I had not come out and said specifically who I was voting for due to the same reasons as above.....I just didn't want to be that direct (:scared1: who me?) and risk offending someone, hurting feelings.......then, when banners were coming out and campaigning, so to speak, for the contestants.....at first, to be honest, it made me cringe.

I just wasn't comfortable pitting one against another and declaring my choice. Especially since this really is a dream for all!

That said, I obviously have no problem whatsoever with a good rANNt (thanks 3Guys and DISgeeks)....sharing my opinions and getting to the bottom of lots of inconsistencies related to this search.
And here, as in my non-virtual life, even though I may be a little "un"subtle at times ;) , I never ever mean it maliciously and I am always in fear of hurting someone's feelings. Tough balance for me as I am rather verbose. And, p.s., as perceptive as I would like to think I am, I do seem to still offend a few.....so if I have, I really am truly sorry.

Okay! One last post before I focus on getting DD ready for PreK:

No worries! :hippie: I hope you know, Ann, that we kid, because we love! :grouphug:

**Ahem, clears throat** So I've been keeping pretty mum about who I'm putting my support behind. When there were 10, I voted for four of them, and now that it is down to 3 I know that I have to put my votes and support behind just 1. At first I thought, can I be clever enough to try and "write in" a vote? If I could then, that vote would be for my "dad". Mr. & Mrs. Fleagle, you guys are amazing peeps and I'm honored to be part of your "family", I'm hoping that one day our paths actually do cross in person. That goes for a lot of people on this thread! Cat, I wish I was at the Pepper Market with you right now! ;) The laundry list I have of people that I want to meet in person from this thread is way to long, but it pretty much covers all of the "regulars" here. We've gone off topic quite a bit, and some of them for personal reasons, but everyone was always there with support and kind words. We've shared pictures, videos, and stories... and to me, that is what Disney magic is all about.... bringing people together for a unique and wonderful experience. And who do I think out of the top 3 encompasses that desire to bring people together for a unique and wonderful experience?

Justin

There I said it, I've thrown my support and votes this time around soley for Justin. In our "family", I'm the "big brother" to him. He might try to steal my Mickey waffles and bugs when I'm trying to watch tv, but at the end of the day.... he is still my "little brother" (and I truly feel that he and I, much like the fleagles, have made a more personal connection with him) and I need to do what it takes so he can achieve his dream.

Ok.... that's it, that is my statement, my declaration, my..... you get the idea.

Kenny - I leave 10am, so no kitchen sink for me!

Let me know what your Friday plans are, and hopefully we can find a meet-up point.

I check my email from my phone, so if you'd like, send your tentative plan for Friday, and we can set a place/time. cathie@cathie1.com.

I dropped you an email!

Sink off is Saturday at 4:30 PM, you could stop in for a few minutes by taking the Boardwalk from Epcot and then catch a bus to DTD from there if you wish.

Otherwise feel free to email me and we can see what is a convenient time to meet up. kennygman77@yahoo.com

It's great to see everyone getting support cast their way. Both are worthy of your support! Both are terrific men. I haven't been making a huge push on this board, I just posted the banner and let it go from there.

...So, I guess if everyone is outing themselves in support of a candidate... I gotta throw my support to Tripp. He makes me laugh and he has a genuineness about him...

Thanks and welcome aboard FTC. :thumbsup2

You too KTP. Get plenty of video and pics for us. :)

Both of your official Tripp Fan Club packets will be sent to you shortly via DHL.

Wow! Now he's going by submarine!

He is diving into the competition. :lmao:

Y-Yummy
Yak and Yeti
Yeti
Yakitori House (Japan)
Yorkshire County Fish Shop

Z-Zebra
(cheating) BliZZard Beach

cheating again for X- X-tra magic hour

I got most of these from the Disney ABC thread.

Thanks! I was going to use Yak & Yeti but then realized that my 2yr won't know anything about this nor can she ride EE. And I even bought a zebra Jolee's Boutique sticker, and now it doesn't fit on the page. Oh well!

Yep, I agree with you. It really makes the competitions nothing more than something fun to do...which is perfectly ok, but then it is not a contest...I'll have to go back and see how they were worded -- maybe it was just an event...

Hey gang - check your email - I just got an acknowledgement I entered the cmo contest:

A great big Disney HELLO!
THANK YOU for entering the Career Builder Chief Magic Officer Contest!

Notice they still don't have the right name!

Ann - don't freak - they are still NOT looking for us!

Cat

I got the email too. Just a tacky way to get more subscriptions to the newsletter. Perhaps if you already get the newsletter you wont be getting this notice. Below is what the email opens with...a picture of Donald hovers over it.

Good Morning Sweetheart.....or should I say afternoon?

You are so very kind HMF, and our gag of you being my "son" has been just as much fun as when I pretended to be my own identical non-existent twin sister! :rotfl:

You are a hoot, and I really can imagine us getting together with your DH someday and having one crazy day filled with nonstop laughter! :) Let's be sure to make that happen? Ok?

And like HMF (can I just call you Stephen...it's such a nice name), I sincerely do hope we can ALL find a way to get together or just meet up at the parks. Can you imagine? ....Disney wouldn't know what hit 'em! :) Everyone would be blinded by all the Lime Green Mickey Heads!

Now, Stephen, could you please put your breakfast dishes in the sink? I need to get ready for work. Also, I've ironed your white and blue pinstripe dress shirt for you. You look so handsome in it! ;) Oh, and don't forget to pick up some milk on your way home tonight.

Toodles!

Mom

I think I would need to bring several changes of pants.... I would pee myself with laughter. :rotfl:

It is a nice name, yay for me! ;) Does this mean that I have to call you Amy? Or can I still call you "mom"? ;)

Oh sure, now that Justin is in Orlando I don't have anyone to do my dirty work for me. Fine, fine, fine..... I'll put them in the sink.

That's Ok, me too! :rotfl:

Absolutely...Amy it is... you are an adult now.

Actually, his plane left at 12:50 and he's due to arrive around 3:15 I think. He should be calling to let me know he made it safely! You know me....always the worry-wart! :rotfl:

I will email you. I'm taking my blackberry, do you have access to your email once you are in the World? We are going to call Tripp to arrange a time outside of Saturday.

If I can talk my husband into leaving Epcot early to meet up with everyone at B&C, then I will.

The Yak and Yeti is the restaurant so you could eat there (although it is a sit down buffet with some rather unusual dining choices I believe). I've not eaten there myself as it wasn't open last fall when we were there.

No, but I'll give you my cell # when I get the email and we can get in touch that way.

Hey there JenniferAtl...LTM is fine, running around and ready to crack his head open again before the current wound heals. :-)

Thank you for asking and to everyone else who asked about him while I was playing thread post catch up.
