THANKS CATHIE!!!! Ut oh.....starting to sing from the musical again......"Just go with the floooooooooooooooooooooooooooow" :rolleyes1

(I just got off the phone with Cathie, she is in Animal Kingdom and on a safari ride this very moment!!)

The memorial service for my Aunt (Godmother and namesake) was this weekend.....I came back here with a renewed sense of purpose.

I have been working on opening a weight loss support business and have been overwhelmed with lawyers, insurance agents, business licenses, accountants, etc. etc. etc. Not a money maker, just something I am passionate about....and I am really still hoping Disney will call regarding my weight loss all because of Disney World and the CMO video section "workout with Walt." (Disney Denial??)

It is finally all coming together. In opening a small business, it does seem as though the red tape and time and all involved probably keeps some people from even trying.

That said, I will be checking in here still (and, of course, voting for my fav).....but I have to keep focus on my goals (especially since I had keep this week open just in case for tooooooo long). The package/phone call/email still hasn't arrived......so on to plan "b."

Hope everyone has a great day!!! :grouphug:

Good luck on your endeavors with the weight loss support business. Will you be giving free support and advice to fellow members of your DIS-nee family? I know I could stand to loose several pounds, especially with summer right around the corner.

Hmmm, when are you going? I already told DH that if a group from this thead goes at the same time, I may go, too (prob would have to bring DD along and DH would stay home)

My next trip isn't until September but this makes it seem much more real and close.
Love our family map. Thanks, MadBrad, for setting that up.

MARSHAY & CIRCUSGIRL - We will be at WDW from Sept. 20 - 27 doing the free dining bounceback. We stayed at POP last year. We heard how great the WL was and decided to give it a try. Marshay, I would love to get to meet any members of the DIS-nee Family. It sounds like Cat is having a great time doing just that. Circusgirl, when are you going and are you going to DL or WDW?

Hello All!

Find myself catching up once again.

A few quick responses...

As far as the new thread name being sooooo long...
How about.....

"Da Thread" Or "The Thread"??

Sort of covers it all and no matter what is added or brought up, it is covered in "Da Thread".
And as that thread ends...."Return of Da Thread"
"Da Thread meets Mickey" for a grand gathering week (???).
Or "Da Thread Does Disney" if you prefer.
Just adding my .02c.

3g&g - "Da Thread meets Mickey" for a grand gathering week (???). - are you planning something we should know about? :scratchin If you're not, is this something we need to start planning? :confused3

Vacation Packages

Madbrad I have family in Huntsville! It's a great town. Well, aside from the humidity...

DISNEYFALCON - Wow, what a small world. I actually grew up north of Huntsville in a little town named Harvest. I moved to the big town of Madison before going to Middle School. Is your family there permanently? I know a lot of people have moved there for jobs at Marshal Space Flight Center or the Redstone Arsenal.

Hey Everyone! Just popping in for a second to thank you for all of your support. Keep voting! Also wanted to let you know we had a bit of a travel snafu, nothing major, but we will be driving down now. We are leaving tomorrow afternoon and stopping for the night in Valdosta, Ga. We will head down to Disney early Wednesday morning. We still do not have an intinerary, but our first "business meeting" will take place Wednesday night with the Disney Team. More updates soon as we are planning to be on-line most of the trip. Now go vote again!!!

TRIPP - When we head down to WDW in Sept, I want to leave Friday afternoon from Florence and stop somewhere in between and stay the night. I was thinking about maybe Columbus, Albany, or Valdosta. Is there any place in any of those three towns that you would recommend? My wife is one of those germ freaks so it would have to be someplace fairly decent. She's really picky about those kinds of things.

Ok, I actually have a couple of questions for our two CMO Top 3 contestants.

1. When you received the phone call, what was your 1st reaction?

2. Once you were able to calm down, who was the 1st person you told?

3. Were you told who the other 2 people in the Top 3 were, and if so when?

4. What did you do to celebrate, if anything?

5. Do you plan on mentioning to David the strong support of the DIS-nee Family that is standing behind the both of you?

6. Of these 5 reality television-style tests of creativity, enthusiasm and Disney theme park knowledge, which do you think will be the easiest and which do you think will be the hardest for you to perform, and why?

Stroller mix-up — Match the stroller with the correct accessory bag.

Towel folding — Create a towel animal following a training session.

Noise making — Generate the loudest crowd reaction.

Park information — Offer assistance, directions and tips to visitors.

Face painting — Create a design following a training session.

I'm sorry if these questions have been asked and answered already. This thread flies by so fast and we are such a large family, it gets hard to keep up with all the things that go on.

LOOK EVERYONE. WE'VE TAKEN UP 141 PAGES IN 10 DAYS!!! ONLY 109 MORE PAGES UNTIL WE HAVE TO START A NEW THREAD!!! :dance3:

:mic: HELLO, is anybody awake yet? It looks like its just me.

Well, I'm going to do a little more of this :coffee: and this :surfweb:.
When 6:00 am gets here, I'm going to hop into this :car: and do this :drive:.
When I get home, I'm going to take a shower and then finally do this :faint:.

:wave2: Good morning to all!

Hmmmmmm..... Mr. DISgeeks told me the place he's considering, and it's definitely suspect, people! (Of course, I do like a good novelty!)

Which reminds me: 'Any "foodies" out there? Don't forget we'll have to stop for "eats" along the way. ... And, based on people's earlier posts, I'm guessing that The Olive Garden definitely is out! ;)
Bleh! I've totally got some great food places close by that I could post when we visit my neck of the woods. And just because tothesea likes it so much "yay for me"!

Alright! DW had to go out and I can check in again!
(I hid the whip by the way!)

I'm in for the "Big Trip", well I guess being DoT I would have to be ....right?

Anyway, I have check out the garage and have a few possibilities.
My personal favourite would be the new motorhome as shown earlier.
It does have that certain touch of class and ultimate comfort for such a long journey....and an alternate for grocery runs, etc.

But let me pull a few out for your inspection...
(3guys rolls open the big doors)

This one is quite airy and has lots of seating, but repairs along the route could be a problem...

Then of course there is this one, again airy but with some cover for inclement weather. No sleeping quarters though...

Now then, this little beauty can get through just about everything we may encounter, except a gas station....

This one has a litlle more room for everyone, but just a bus...

And this one has a LITTLE more room, but again, just a bus.

I like the motorhome myself.
Any other ideas out there?
Does anyone know how to fly? We could all pile into a tricked out 747.

Good Morning! I have a great recommedation. Go through Valdosta to the Lake Park exit (#5 I think). It's about 5 miles from the Florida line. There is a very nice Hampton Inn to the right of the exit and just down Timber Ridge Dr. It is very nice inside, the rooms are clean, and you have to enter the main building to access your room. Plus there is free Wi-Fi in the lobby, but if you stay in a room near the access point, it's like having Wi-Fi in your room. There is a McDonalds, Pizza Hut, and Cracker Barrel within walking distance. Just google Hampton Inn Lake Park. It's only about 3 1/2 hours from Disney too! Hope that helps. We are usually down in September, so we may see you in both places. :)

Thanks for the questions! Here's the best answers I can come up with this morning!

1) Shock and Awe . . . (oh, oops) . . . Seriuosly, I've been surprised at every step in the process because I have so much respect for everyone else involved. I immediately ran and gave my wife a HUGE hug (fortunately they called around 5:30 in the evening, so we were both home from work at that time) and then just turned on some Disney music (I think it was the Lion King soundtrack) and tried to soak it all in.

2) Well, my wife. (Actually, I might have told my cat, Sebastian, first because he was in the kitchen with me at the time. Don't know if you count him, though!) I then told my parents, but we were asked to sign an affidavit stating that we wouldn't tell anyone outside of our immediate family, so it didn't go much further than that.

3) No I wasn't. I found out officially when the site updated happened on the 7th. Tripp immidiately contacted me to say congratulations and we had the chance to connect with David pretty quickly as well.

4) My wife and I went out to dinner that first night. Beyond that, we kind of focused our attention (and money) on getting ready for the trip. I bought a video camera (yikes!) and several friends and students have gone above and beyond the call of duty by having CMO Towels embroidered, making T-shirts, etc. I know have a CMO themed set of Mickey coasters, a CMO decorated Mickey Christmas ornament, and a variety of other stuff that has really made this a lot of fun.

5) Well, not in an imposing kind of way. He obviously has an immense amount of support as well since he has currently made it as far as we have. I am going to talk about all you guys though, just because I'd love to have him join us! Another member to the DISnee family is always a good thing, right?! :)

6) I'm guessing all of the contests will have their own unique challenges. As the only finalist without kids, I'm sure I'm the least familiar with the ins-and-outs of a stroller! I am most looking forward to the ones that allow for direct guest interaction - - the noise making and park information contests.

Hope that helps!

1. The emotion that hit me is hard to explain. I couldn't believe I got the call. It came at a later time compared to the other calls and from what seemed to be a different area code. I'm a grown man (er, well... really just a big kid), but I started to tear up.

2. My wife was right there as I got the information jumping up and down and screaming.

3. I wasn't told then who the other two were, but found out that Justin also made it to the Top 3 in one of the other phone calls. Didn't find out about David until it was unveiled.

4. I have been working out and eating very healthy since Jan 2, before this contest started. The contest gave me some extra motivation though. But I was so excited that night that we got our 4 year old out of bed and went to Cold Stone Creamery at 9:30p that night. I had a Peanut Butter Cup Perfection in a waffle bowl btw. (Note: once our 2 year old goes to sleep, you can't wake her up for anything. We weren't trying to exclude her and Grandma was there to watch her).

5. Sure!

6. Make Some Noise will be the easiest for me while Throw In the Towel will probably give me some trouble.

Thanks for the questions. That was fun. I should be around for a little while today at work (after the hour commute between 8:30 and 9:30), but we will leave this evening around 5:00ish... wish us luck!

OK Everyone.....

Just officially gonna do it! I've made so many friends here....but I MUST throw the Mrs. Fleagle support behind......JUSTIN!

Tripp, I really like you and loved your "in training video", it made me cry. So PLEASE don't take it personal......cuz I do love ya!

BUT,

Since we clearly have so many openly Tripp supporters here (and so many from Georgia) and who aren't reluctant to let it be known, I am making it known that I vote for Justin.

Heres why folks....

Of all the candidates I know that HE knows how much this meant to so very very many of us. Those of us who have PM'd back and forth with our own personal stories (and you all know who you are ;) and there's quite a few ) just know that Justin cares about this contest in a very real way and in the SAME way that we do.

So for those of you with stories behind why you entered this contest or why you got involved on this board, let me assure you that JUSTIN is your man. I truly believe that if he were to become CMO that he would approach every wish granted in a genuine and sincere way. The back stories of these disboarders will live on through his pixie dust.

SO, I AM PROUD TO SAY PUBLICLY THAT I SUPPORT JUSTIN MUCHONEY FOR CMO!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ok, I think I'm blushing now . . . . (***runs to the mirror to look***) Yep, it can't be sunburn because we've only had about 5 sunny days in PA in 2008, so I must be so moved by that last post that I'm blushing!

Thanks! :)

Love ya guys! Time for me to head off to work again. As with yesterday, I'm guessing I won't be able to pop on much. I'll definitely get on here to say goodbye before I leave tomorrow though!

Have a wonderful day!

And now my campaign dance.... (stretching, stretching.....head roll)

"Go Justin, Go Justin, GO GO GO Justin!"

Thanks for the dance, Mrs. Fleagle! I loved it! (and thanks for the dancing bananas!)

Now, go stretch again before anything gets too tight or sore!

wow

I hope our Dis family will stand up to this kind of pressure. I know some have been very open with their support of one or another but this is hard.

I agree that I do not know David and so am less vested in his success. (Sorry!) Since following this board everyday I feel like part of the family.

I have not voted since the top three were named. I guess we all have to pick someone eventually. In the meantime, I will just live the experience through Justin and Tripp equally.

Good luck all!

GOOOOOOOOOOOO JUSTIN!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: and a couple of these :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Hi all!

I know many of you have been maintaining Suisse neutrality...and I respect you for that.

I look at it this way: If our feelings are genuine, then it's okay to express a preference if we have one. Obviously I have been backing Justin since the top 10 were announced, but I have also maintained a real affection for Tripp.

FYI -I have never once backed the same candidate for President of the United States as my older sister! Our feelings are polar opposites, but you know what? We love each other anyway. We have respect for each other's right to have an opinion, and we support the right for everyone to be able to express that opinion.

Now voting for CMO is not quite the same, but the principles are the same, as far as I'm concerned.

So, here's my opinion in the form of one of my cheesey videos! The quality is sketchy, but the affection is real!

Oh, and for the record, I got permission from Justin to use screenshots from his video!

Our Friend Justin!
(this is a short musical for Justin!)
