The top 25 things we love about being in DVC... UPDATED

I thought this might be a fun thread to start. I limited to 25 so I hope we can keep it fresh and hopefully no repeats. The numerical order shouldnt reflect which is #1 reason. At the end of #1 we can go back and take a poll and tally the votes to see which is #1, 2, and 3 reasons we love DVC. If someone else took your idea come up with another, lets have fun and see how far we can take this thing.

OK here's #25..... We can go to WDW just about anytime we want too!

It seems this thread is going to keep growing and thats fine, so if you have a reason(s) you love DVC please let us know!! Not sure if we will ever get around to the top 3 reasons cause we have gone way past 25 very good reasons. So keep them coming!!

21. Disney's Hilton Head Resort!!!! The most peaceful vacation I have ever had in my entire life.

Familiarity - when you go on vacation to a hotel I hate the where is everything or where does it go. At DVC it is like home, you unpack the same way each trip - everyone has their own drawer, the bathroom has a place for all the "stuff" and we all know where to find everything - no MOM - WHERE"S........!!

The Welcome Home and settling right in each trip make the trip more relaxing.

Having a controllable bill at the end of the stay - no $2000 hotel bills.

Sharing the great location and accomodations with those most important to you in life, and enough room even when there are 12 in a room in a spacious GV.

Watching the reaction when those dear to you walk into the GV for the first time.

Knowing when you leave that before long you will be back.

Waiting to retire and spending 6 to 8 weeks there in the off season.

Still after dozens and dozens of visits having Disney touches and surpises happen to you and your family.

Feeling good when the maintenance work is being done because you realize that your investment is being kept up properly.

Always having a place to go!! I know there are alot more but will let the rest of you go on.
I am sorry - didn't realize the counting - Just cannot control myself when going over the good things of DVC!!!

#1 (But #20 for the thread) for me is that DVC has saved me a ton of money. We always went two times a year during holiday seasons. If I wasn't a DVC member, our trip next Christmas/New Year's would cost over $10,000.00 for my family of six to have two adjoining rooms at the Beach Club (where we often stayed). Instead we are staying in a 2BR for almost 2 weeks for much less.

No longer stressing about the price of "so-so" accomadations. Just think, always a deluxe resort no matter which one it happens to be (BCV,VWL, BWV, OKW...) the choices are now so easy!!

Example-- When my FIL checked into VWL while staying with us, the CM gave him his welcome packet and said, "And this packet is for you. This is the one for our visiting guests, that one [cast member pointing at my member packet] is for the people who live here.

Call me a sucker, but I ate it right up.....
