The top 25 things we love about being in DVC... UPDATED

Oh, I have to vote for number 14 right now! That is the magic for us - just the two of us having the time of our lives - and maybe skipping along hand in hand once in a while...

We enjoy the HUGE rooms and the quality we get from staying with our dvc points. It's like staying at home only better......we're on vacation. (#7):D :Pinkbounc :bounce:

#5 Using vacation time as a true VACATION -- no more "COMMANDO" park visits, and no consuming vacation days doing the "World Tour For Peace" of visiting our respective families in their sadly mundane, all-too-normal habitats! Now we can bring the family WITH us and ALL share the magic in whatever way we each choose!!

NOW THAT'S A VACATION!

Cindy ;)

#4 Sharing points with friends or family members, and it doesn't really seem to cost anything. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

# 3 -

Feeling like you own a piece of the majic when you walk around and that you don't have to rush and see everything, you know you'll be back to create future family memories.

Knowing you time off work will be spent at a first class resort, not skimping, budgeting pennies, it's first class.

Taking extended family along.

Having a nice flexible, stable vacation framework in which to plan. Not having to worry about the unexpected, and winding up in a crappy room.

#3 (I think)

Being able to create many different vacations.

It's usually just 2 of us, so we usually just get a studio, but in 2005 I'll be able to get a grand villa and a two bedroom and take 13 other family members with us.....Let's see you do THAT with an ordinary timeshare!!!!!!;)

:D

(#2) Taking my family and extened family on a 7 day MAGICal cruise, that none of us would have been able to do, without our DVC Points. Also to hear my DD 12 say as we walked into our 2 bedroom villa at VB last November, "Oh my God, Oh my God, dad can we move in here?" Needless to say, she was excited, she though it was just going to be another "hotel" room.

#1 thing? Participating in this forum and the ongoing resort wars - mine's better than yours, room occupancy battles, and pool hopping skirmishes....:smooth: :jester:

The thread title isn't always where the thread goes.....

I think we've used up all 25 "reasons", but I just have to second CK1 when I say that one of the best parts of joining DVC was throwing away all the "Commando Touring" guidebooks! :p

If we don't see it this trip, we'll catch it on the next! Same thing applies to having lousy weather on any given trip. It'll be better next time! :)

We are now at more than 25 but for me the thing that draws me back to Disney World is the corporate culture they've created and maintain so that I can count on having a good quality, relaxing, vacation on a consistent basis.

To me....................it's one of the pure pleasures of my life.

I am ever so grateful for the opportunities we have in this country. Hard work does indeed pay off.

To me there is no stress. You hear or read about others searching and waiting for codes, hoping they get to see it all and do it all. I totally understand how they feel, it used to be me, but we don't have that anymore. We know what kind of room we will be staying in (we have been totally spoiled by 1 BR's ;) ) and we can take our time just strolling around the parks and taking it all in, if we only spend an hour or so in a park, its no big deal, we will be back:D

Its just an incredible feeling:D

I didn't find this thread until after the 25 mark had been reached, but I wanted to add my two cents.

The best part for me is knowing that I can get a room for my family of 5 and have plenty of space to spread out!

Also, I second the fact that it really is like going home!:D

Knowing that I don't have to worry if Mission Space is open yet when I get there (or if we even bother we two small kids), it will be there next time I go. Likewise if something is closed for rehab - we can catch it next time.

#-6 (but who's counting?)

I don't have to ask "Does anybody want to go to Disney World this year?"
I just say "We're going!".
No complaints yet!

Being able to go to first class beach resorts, and enjoy campfires, great kids activities, live music most nights and all the magical Disney touches that are added, especially around Christmas time. The tree in the Vero lobby is fantastic.

#30? Reason -

Planning your next trip to WDW while your on one! :bounce:

Being able to relax in the jacuzzi tub while doing laundry!

Going to bed in the wonderful king size beds that i think are the best on the property! I always have a great nights sleep while home at BWV!

Being able to meet nice folks like yall on this board.......and meeting nice folks at "home"....and hearing welcome home
