"the thing I wish we would have done differently...."

I wish I would have stayed on the ships while in the Bahamas. The beaches were nice and I'm glad I saw Atlantis but I needed more time to enjoy the ship.

We would get to the terminal earlier. We got to the terminal at about 11:15am or so but didn't have much time to look around after checking in because the line to board was already really long.

We would not go to Palo. The reservations were a hassle and we felt we would have had more fun in our regular dining room with our great tablemates. We did have brunch and dinner at Palo but would save the time and money for something else next time.

We also decided that we would take a couple of bottles of water on with us and some snackies like popcorn, chips etc.

On this last trip -- Wish we hadn't ate at the Cracked Conch near the Turtle Farm on Grand Cayman - too expensive for what we got.

Changed to late seating (from early) with children - Kids missed a lot in clubs because of it and we got out of dinner very late. Early seating worked best for us before (kids 9, 7, and 3)

Wished we ordered room service at night (but getting out of late dining at 10:00 P.M., you're not too hungry later).

Wished we ate more at Plutos, the chicken strips are the best!

Wished I'd taken more video, but I did manage 650 digital pics and 5 rolls of film this last trip - I can't help it.

Good thread.
- take more Diet Coke aboard
- see more sunsets
- just spend more time late in the evening sitting with my hunny on the verandah or a deck. priceless, eh?
- get to Palo sooner. I didn't go until our third cruise. I can take or leave most of the food, but oooohh the chocolate souffle....
- talk to the CMs more. They're a delight and the more you meet, the more fun you are likely to have.

I wish that I would have realized sooner how much my children were going to love the clubs and relaxed. I worried about them so much instead of going off and realizing that DH and I could have some "quality time" alone! How many vacations can that happen without taking another family member or sitter?

After each of my previous cruises, I always said.. "I should have taken the 7 day!" Third time around, I took my own advice and can't wait!

But as far as onboard stuff...

1)watched the ship dock at Castaway
2)Bought a few more professional photos
3)taken more advantage of room service
4)packed less clothes
5)skipped going to the shopping talk/disembarkment talk.. they replay them on the TV, so you can just watch them when you are getting ready.
6)Watched the sunset and sunrise more often
7)taken more time to relax.. hopefully 3 more days at sea will give me that time!

Sunrise varies from location to location and time of year. But it is usually early in the morning!

LOL :teeth:

Actually I think the navigator will tell you when the sunrise and sunset are for each day :sunny:

I wish I had forced DS to watch Hercules. He would have loved it, but it was the first night and he was loving the club.

I wished it was a 7 night, so now we have one planned :)

I have been on 4 Disney cruises and have not eaten at Palo's yet, exept for brunch. We have 2 cruises planned for next year so maybe we will finally make it. By the way we made reservation's on the previous cruises and cancelled because we enjoyed our servers so much we hated to not show up even for one night.:p

I'll start with the biggie: I wish we'd gone for a 7-day instead of a 4-day. Actually, I don't really regret that. It was our very first cruise, and I have heard of some people who don't like cruising -- it would have been miserable to be stuck there all week if we'd turned out to be the sea-sick type. Now we know we love it.

I wish we'd taken formal pictures. DH, who is the type who doesn't like surprises, balked at the idea. Next time I will prepare him well ahead of time -- he takes things better that way.

I wish we'd seen more of the shows.

I wish we'd had early dinner seating instead of late. Because the kiddos stay up that late at home, I thought they could make it on the cruise. I didn't take into consideration they'd be so worn out from all the extra activity.

I'd get my daughter's hair braided the first day. She was wishy-washy about it (so was I -- cheapskate that I am sometimes), and then when we tried to make an appointment, there were none left.

I wish I'd realized earlier that I didn't need to drag my AAA mug around the ship -- I could just show the sticker on my card.

All in all, I have no regrets about our cruise -- just a few details I'll change next time. It was wonderful.

and made my reservation earlier in the week, the poor travel agent was dealing with long lines when we rebooked.

I agree with jfis1020. We felt guilty about leaving our kids in the clubs, but they were always disappointed when we came to pick them up.

At Castaway Cay DW, DS12 and I had a wonderful morning and a peaceful lunch and then collected our younger kids from the clubs so they could swim in the ocean. They complained nearly the whole time!

If I had it to do over, I would keep them with us for an hour or two and then let them spend the rest of the day in the clubs.

Also, I would not lose the our black & white disposable camera on Castaway Cay:mad: !
