Most people now want to go out with someone because thats what they do in real life.I am going out with someone but I didn't do it right away. I like to get to know the person before i go steady with them, but some girls just go up to a guy and say " Will you go out with me?" no man likes that beacuse

A) They feel presured in to the whole thing

B) They don't know the girl well enough to go out with them

C) It makes the girl look despreate

Not only the girls but the boys as well. They see a pretty girl and jump on them to. It makes us feel really uncomfortable. Its like getting hitched.

I can't speak for her, but I'm assuming on vmk...b/c I rarely see people in real life going up to strangers asking "are you taken"? Since we don't know who a person *really* is on vmk, we can only see their avatar (character), that to me is the equivalent of calling a random person in the phone book, without seeing their name, and asking if they are taken before they can say "hello". Not exactly the same, but it's similar b/c like, you don't know who they are, what they look like, how old they are, or even if they are male or female! I know on vmk it's just pretend, no one is actually dating, but I am so against the taken thing (if you know me, you probably already know that! I scold girls for it all the time ).

I'm sure being "taken" is harmless, because even if an 11 year old girl's vmk boyfriends is actually a 54 year old man or a FEMALE even (I mean, I have some boy characters and mules....who by the way get hit on ALL the time b/c of course they are 'cute') then she will never know it. She can imagine it's a cute little 11 year old boy who looks like the avatar. But most times, sorry to say, it's not. And even if being taken were ok with me, I still think that the random "u taken?" as a first greeting is silly. If you want to pretend like you are dating in real life, make friends, hang out, then decide if you like each other and be a pretend couple!

And let me add that I cannot stand how almost every girl has a signature like "I am cute and a cheerleader and not taken, come get me boys" to attract them. It makes them look foolish and desperate, like Kat said.

Just play the game, make friends, have fun. Don't try to grow up too fast and if you must have a boy or girl friend on vmk, at least talk a little first! How about, "Hi, I'm so and so, nice to meet you"???

And don't even get me STARTED on the "mummy duh-duh bay be" junk.

I am actually scared to go up to guys and say " Hi i'm Melanie I think that your really cute" I mean I want to do that but I can't because it would make me look so stupied. But in the game you can hide your identity so you don't look like a loser going up to a grade 12 that you think is really cute and have a big crush on.(breathes) and will get hurt either way because well they are just older and of course they want "more"

i always laugh at those....sometimes i think, they go on VMK only to find guys/girls and find themselves a girlfriend/boyfriend because they cant one in real life

im okay with the duh duh and mummy, but onlyif there talking about there parents in real life, but if its the one in VMK, then ill go against it.... the bay be thing is hecka annoying because people can look like nice pretty girls if they want to ...they just need to change there hairstyle and clothes...

We need the wod taked because, without this word if someone goes up to staf and says " my inferno was ###." They would never get it.

My view on Taken

When you were little you probably played a game called house.

There is always a Mommy a Daddy and a kid. Its just the virtual equivalent of House.

You know I don't mind the taken thing as much as how random some of the kids are about it

Today in HM while on credit run- I ran into a "guest" who was standing in stretching room asking if anyone needed a boy friend.

I pointed out at the time that it was rather random to just ask a room full of people if they needed a boyfriend...

I do understand the whole playing house sort of thing- and having a boyfriend/girlfriend being part of it- but I do find it really funny when the girls all swarm around a boy character and tell him he is cute

I said all the boys can be cute- they just have to select the right features- or something like that...

I don't usually really chastise girls for doing this- unless they are in my room- because if you come in looking for boy/girl friend in my room- you go into a cauldron (boot) - but I will explain that it makes them look bad when they keep doing that- and suggest that they at least talk to a boy for a while before they ask if they are taken and do they want to go out...

And if real life... on our recent trip to WDW dh and I were on last day and just walking around taking pictures and re-riding a few of our favorites- and at one time we joked that we could go over to the castle forcourt or main street and ask random people if they are taken- lol

And no we didn't really do it- although... in the right circumstances I'd do it just to be silly...

but I'm not an 11 yo girl either.

I agree with so many things that were said after I posted that I won't even get into it all...but go KHSora_VMK_Love! Spiky hair...that is so true. Girls won't talk to boys with the stupid hair or green skin. That is good sense coming from someone in 6th grade (unless you meant you are the teacher... I don't know). And VirtuallyMe, I have actually thought the same thing about going up to people in WDW and asking if they are taken! Honestly if I saw a young boy and somehow knew that he was a vmk player who did that...I would do it (unless his parents looked mean LOL). I'm just that crazy. Well I know if I were a 8-10 year old girl again I would SO want to go around to boys and ask them if they were taken! Then I would break up with them! BWAHAHAHA! Yea I'm sadistic that way... But since I'm a little more mature then that I don't have any interest in that. To little boys and girls it's like they can say and do whatever they want without having much of a consequence besides not playing it for a little while.

Im in the middle on hating taken and loving taken stuff . Because you think at first , why would you date someone on a vitrual reality game (half the ppl on vmk look the same!) . but them you think what if you like someone for who they are on the inside I have seen it ! my friend's bff (best ive seen just being friends) has a girl friend but they like the inside it is soooo cute !
